I usually enjoy eating here but tonight was a different story. The food was just fine but that is not why I am writing. See, tonight, an older homeless man who appeared to be blind in one eye, came into the restaurant and quietly took a seat away from everyone else. The restaurant had only 3 tables being occupied with plenty of room to spare. He came inside just in time as it had just began to rain. He was approached by a male employee who asked "Can I help you?" with a dry, aggravated tone. The man began to explain he was being harassed by someone outside and was looking for a place to sit and feel safe for a moment. Too bad the male employee had no intention of actually listening to this man. The employee talked over this visibly upset man while he was in the middle of explaining himself. Staring this man with the most blank expression I have seen, he stated "Well, that is not my problem, Sir." He continued, "Either order something, or you need to leave." Eating a meal here costs a pretty penny. The male employee was well aware of this when making this statement. Now, this man was not being disruptive, disrespectful, or in the way of a single person in that entire restaurant. All he wanted was a safe place to sit and this pathetic male employee would not even allow him that basic human right. This misunderstood man stood up and began to weep as he walked out of the restaurant. He did not argue. He did not cause a scene. He stood up and sobbed as he realized just how far our society has fallen. He took one last glance at the man who forced him to leave, then lowered his head as he saw he was unwelcome by this heartless person who so inconsiderately shunned him into the rain with his harasser lurking nearby. Nobody in the entire restaurant felt this man needed to leave. Yet this one male employee was instant and rude towards this man for no apparent reason. Once the door shut, the employee had the audacity to say "Sorry guys, we get weird people in here all the time." Then he promptly turned and walked out of sight. This broke my heart. I don't care where you live, how much money you make, or what clothes are on your back. Everyone deserves to feel safe. Everyone deserves to sit down and stay out of the relentless Washington rain. EVERYONE. There is absolutely NO excuse for treating ANYBODY the way this man was treated. Absolutely none. Since when did being homeless mean you are not entitled to basic human rights? Since when did society deem it acceptable to treat someone else like they were unworthy? Since when did it become okay to speak to someone in such a manner? What makes you think that you are worth more than any man? I am ashamed to have ever spent a dime at this establishment. I promise you that I will never make that mistake again. You, Sir... Me and husband were in the mood for something different so we decided to stop by and give it a go. We ordered 1 pound of shrimp and the trio (potatoes, corn and sausage) with a mild seasoning. The shrimp was delicious and cooked perfectly but my only gripe was that there wasn't much corn and sausage in our bowl (3 small wedges of corn and a few slices of sausage). Everything else was perfect! I would highly recommend the place to my seafood loving friends. Also on a side note all prices are subject to change depending on the market price so you might spend a bit to get full. Hey yall, this is the $75 worth quality of seafood bowl. The quality was wreck and I ordered spicy one but they gave me very buttery mild mild one. And the owner is RUDE AS HELL. I didn't even asked to return or exchange my food. Because I don't have a car and getting a ride to bring the food back will cost me another $30. So when they asked me to bring it back, I told the owner exactly "No,, that will cost me another $30, I don't need to get refund or exchange. I will just eat this time, but next time just give me a good one, and take care of the quality little bit more." By that time I was not getting any apology, but just soo abrasive response to bring the food back. So I told the owner lady, "hey,, should't you just say sorry first??" First off, As a customer, if you paid $75 for a plate then you will of course expect a good food, at least the correct flavor what you ordered, right??? And if the quality was not what you expected, plus even the flavor was not correct, then you have a right to complain. And the first thing that you want to hear back will be a proper apology. See, This was the answer from them : "I don't know what's going on your life and what's wrong with you, but if you are not bring the food back we can't do anything. I told you to bring it back, and that's my apology. I DON'T NEED TO SAY SORRY". I got so mad after heard this from her. I would have rated this place higher but for two things. But first let me say that the shrimp we're cooked perfectly , and I ordered the dragon's breath, and it was freaking hot! Just the way I like it! So those were definitely pluses. On the downside, They don't serve rice! Which is a huge bummer. Every place that I go to in Las Vegas like this serves rice and it is great to mix in with the sauce. They do serve French bread but it is just not the same. i love boiling crab from back home & we found this spot that was similar to it. the staff was friendly the food was good, an issue i'd say i had was the shrimp isn't as clean. so you gotta make sure u clean it yourself. the medium seasoning wasn't tooo spicy so if ur lookin for more spicy i'd just go with the hot option. the corn was my favorite & the sausage was also very good! parkings a bit hard to find gotta go around the building to find more ! the establishment could b a bit cleaner, which was my only other issue aside from the shrimp. read more

At first, our server was very blunt and had a problem seating u s because we wanted to sit by the window. I could see the employees talking about us behind the counter, while they were staring us down. My mother in law asked for extra lemon for her seafood and they told us that they charge .50 for a LEMON SLICE. After eating our shrimp and crab we found a LONG piece of black hair in the garlic butter. As for the food, it was just okay. The butter tasted fake and was WAYY too sweet. The shrimp was hard and unseasoned. Then my mother in law tried to confront them about the hair being in the food and they tried to say we put the hair in our food. WHY WOULD WE PUT HAIR IN OUR OWN FOOD?! The hair was in the bottom in the bowl BENEATH the crawfish. The hair was black and curly and none of us have curly hair. The proportions are not good for the price. The seafood tasted like straight buffet food. The crawfish was little, barely had any tail on it. I am very disappointed in this place. I almost hate to write this review because I don't want anyone else to know about my faaaaavorite seafood place in Tacoma. Seriously. Favorite. It's not cheap (at least not when I go) but it is worth EVERY penny. If you like The Crab Pot style "dump a heap of seafood in my lap and let me have at it"... this is crab pot on hyper drive. They deliver the seafood collection of your choice in a giant metal bowl marinated in some crazy delicious cajun sauce (I go for the cajun sauce anyway, they have a non-spicy version too). I literally can't get enough of that sauce. And they are heavier on the seafood portions than The Crab Pot is. AND. They serve like a Vietnamese banh mi bread roll with the sauce. Which just allows me to soak up more cajun buttery goodness. I often have a stomachache when I leave this restaurant because I have overeaten soooo much. Gluttony at it's worst but the food is soooo worth it. And like the food alone doesn't make it worth checking this place out... The owners/staff are so incredibly nice. Every time I go in. It has a family vibe that is really comforting. Comfort food and a cozy atmosphere. Can't go wrong. Wear stretchy clothes though. I think people tend to forget that we do not get places like this in this area of Tacoma and I was skeptical for that very reason. My honey dip and I ordered the $40 2lbs pot which came with crab, clams, crawfish, sausage, corn and shrimp boiled with the buttery garlic sauce. The food was great. The sauce has more of a sweet honey flavor which I really enjoyed. The crab was cooked to absolute perfection and just overall really great tasting food. The hospitality is what truly won me over. The waitress first asked if it was our first time. When we replied yes she began to explain how everything worked and was very transparent if any additional items had an extra cost. Most places make suggestions and then you find out when you get the check that it cost extra but the waitress was very upfront. They also had my favorite snack growing up with a Thai step mom, the shrimp rolls with a side of sweet chili sauce! It is an appetizer of shrimp wrapped in egg roll paper and fried. You can get 1/2 of snow crab, shrimp, clams, and crawfish for $50. If you want corn, sausages, and potatos it'd be extra - not included. You'd also have to pay for sauce on the side such as cajun or lime. Where alot of other places sauces, corn and sausages are on the house with the order of crawfish. Their crawfish are huge, I assume it's pacific. I personally like the smaller Louisiana ones but I wasnt sure if they offer that. Their wet garlic butter hot is delicious. Hot wasn't out of my reach. I'd say I would go for spicy next time. But if you get the hot in your nose, it'll have you crying for sure. This place isn't bad but I knocked off 2 stars because their prices are overly expensive compared to other crawfish houses I been to. I felt like we paid alot and we didnt get as much. $55 a pound for king crab? No thanks! But I can understand that since they dont get alot of traffic, its better to have the price set this way. We've tried figuring out how to make it but can't even come close haha The owners who serve us are always warm and friendly and they haven't at all changed since we first started going to this place. So glad they're still in business amidst this pandemic because idk what will do if they end up closing for good! Other places can't come close to your sauce that's why we keep coming back! Really loved it here. I've been quite a few times. I've updated my review because I've made up my mind to not go anymore being that I've found a place closer and cheaper. First time trying it was very delicious I was so impressed by the flavor of sauce. I've tasted nothing like it before. 2nd time going the flavor was still there but I wasn't able to eat certain things because i don't like mushy shrimp or crawfish. For the 3 times I been it was all in the same month or close in weeks apart. Basically the prices go up every time and I remember walking in as soon as they opened and they was literally upping the prices on the snow crab and shrimp. Their prices for snow crab is normally the price for king crab. I understand seafood is expensive but I haven't came cross a place with prices more expensive than theirs. Although the food itself is really good. It's kind of hit or miss. Also keep in mind that the hours of operation is not accurate. I've wasted gas twice by thinking they are open when it clearly says they are but when I called and asked them about it her response was that they would have to pay to update the hours. This is one of my favorite spots in Tacoma. I'm originally from Cali and boiling crab is huge there. This is similar but with crawfish and it's BOMB. Their French bread is so so so good. Health department has been notified of the "pest" problem, being huge ass roaches. Didn't eat there due to a woman at the store screening people for COVID, and also letting the customer know that they "may see cockroaches on the ground, but definitely not in the food or anything"; that was a lie, upon reading the reviews of people finding roaches-which could easily be confused with a crawfish or something else- in their food I knew this was a shame. Called to ask about gluten free options (some places put flour in with their spices for the boils) and was met with a very annoyed sounding, "I don't think we have that." When I asked if they had flour in their bags they said no, it is Louisiana style. I heard someone in the background say something about bread, and she said the only thing they have with gluten is bread. Not convincing. Your people need to learn the menu. Gluten issues are on the rise, it isn't just Celiac anymore and people will be asking about them. It is really unacceptable to have someone answer the phone like that. I am from Orange County, California. Boiling Crab was my number 1 place to go and needless to say my love towards crawfish is I could say second to none. Ever since I've moved up to Tacoma area there wasn't really a good crawfish place unless I went up to Seattle area or Bellevue. But there was this place, dragon crawfish, grand opening with some pretty good reviews to start with, I saw one of the reviews mentioning how quiet close to boiling crab down in California, I was intrigued. I went down to this restaurant around 1730, expecting loads of customers and waiting line I got disappointed, not a single customer to be found but employee watching the TV in the middle. Sure, bad days happen to everyone and every restaurant. Knowing that it's not a crawfish season I asked the employee if crawfish is frozen, reply was yes as I expected, so I asked how much is it per pounds, it was 14.99 usd per pounds which got me quiet surprised. Frozen crawfish for 14.99 per pounds, I immediately thought this is quiet pricy, but I remember going through the reviews someone mentioning it is expensive but it's worth it. Bad start with no customer and unexpected high price for a frozen crawfish, I calmly waited for my a pound of crawfish, shrimp and some sausages with garlic butter sauce with a mild spice, hoping that I would be wrong. Garlic butter sauce was acceptable, but crawfish and the shrimp tasted too old, I understand it was frozen and not fresh, but if I am paying high amount of money I'm expecting something that's edible, I went down the bowl just based on a sauce, continously sipping on sauce on every bite of crawfish, shrimp, and a sausage which was like 5 dollars a packet from Walmart. after going through the half way down a bowl I had to stop and take the rest to-go, I just could not sit there alone in the restaurant paying quiet a good amount of money digging something that I couldn't bring myself to enjoy it.. I had the rest on togo hoping that I can spice this up like a gumbo in my way... I just wanted to pay my wasted 35 bucks and leave this place, But my tragic dinner wasn't over with. Card reader was not working and the owner-whom I believed- demanded a cash. I only had 20 dollars bill at that time so it wasn't an option for me.
