Booked this service for my daughter who finished work at 2315. got a message at 2300 to say taxi was there and I rang them and said it wasn't booked till quarter past and was reassured that they'd wait. what I didn't know was that the metre was running from 2300 and then the driver purposely went the long way round meaning she paid at least £10 more than was originally quoted. certainly wont be booking these again read more

Absolutely disgusting service. Will definitely NEVER use again. after booking two weeks in advance for a wedding in which we required a taxi to ferry the groomsmen from the hotel to the venue, dragon taxis severely let us down. After waiting half an hour we called up to enquire where the car was, to be told it was four minutes away. However, the car didn't turn up! luckily for us, some wedding guests came together to help get them to the venue in time. Fast forward to the end of the night where once again dragon taxis were booked in advance to pick up guests... and lo behold... we were abandoned AGAIN! after an hour of standing around in the pouring rain in our wedding gear in a pitch black car park - dragon taxis claimed that even though we had booked two weeks in advance, our booking didn't take precedence over the many bookings that had come in that night for the rugby. they claimed they had "misquoted" and that we would have to prepay as it was so late at night (1am by this point) we couldn't believe the sheer audacity! The one shining light in this experience had to be Jackson Cars who after hearing about our situation, got a car out to us within 15mins to save us from the freezing cold and rain. yesterday dragon taxis lost many customers. read more

Dragon are also one of my favourite taxi firms operating in Cardiff a the moment. The arrive on time with a smiley happy driver behind the wheel. The drivers I have met have all made small talk with me which prevents any awkward silences. Price wise they are pretty much the same as ever other firm but I like the fact they will ring your phone when they are outside. This is great if you live in a flat like me! In London taxi drivers on a meter try and take you the long way round but Dragon drivers do not try this tactic and their aim is to get you from A to B as quickly as possible! I am no mechanic but all the cars do seem to be well mantained are always very clean! read more

Absolute waste of time, ordered a taxi with about 5 hours notice...to pick my beautiful young girlfriend up at 23:05, only for me to call at 23:02 since the app said they hadn't dispatched. keeping in mind the wait time on their app said 5 mins. the operator told me they haven't got any cars right now they're all busy, they'll get someone there ASAP...15 minutes later still not left. Bottom line...deleting the app...waste of time, stress inducing company, poor service. I got in a Dragon Taxi to get back to my house here in Cardiff, after visiting home in Sussex for the weekend. It is a gloriously sunny day and I really should have walked but my bag was so very heavy! The taxi driver was lovely, even if his conversation seemed a little bit weird. 'And what does your mum do? Is she a teacher?' ... why would she be a teacher? I have not mentioned teachers or teaching at any point... Other than that, it was just quite nice chatting about the weather. The fare to get from Cardiff Central station to my house (which took about ten minutes because of road works meaning that St Mary's Street was shut) was only £5.80, which I thought was quite reasonable. We always use Dragon Taxis when we go out (more because the phone number is easy to remember than because of anything else) and they are nearly always friendly, cheap and happy to indulge a group of girls shouting over the radio. Occassionally you'll get one that is pretty miserable but, then I think that's fair enough. It's just their job to drive. read more

If you're looking for a taxi in Cardiff, Dragon Taxis is definitely the way to go. In my experience, the taxi drivers are a lot friendlier and the prices aren't absolutely ridiculous either. ~ Customer Service: I've ridden with other taxis with taxi drivers who are a tad bit rude and unfriendly. However, that isn't the case with Dragon Taxis. Every Dragon Taxi I've been in always had a friendly driver willing to chat with you or have a laugh. I'm guessing it's something to do with the culture of the company or if they just train their drivers to be customer service oriented, but there's definitely a lot more of a laidback attitude - makes for a lot more of an enjoyable ride! ~ Prices: Like I said, Dragon Taxis are far less expensive than their competitors. Like seriously less expensive. My partner and I took a non-Dragon Taxi cab to a location and then took a Dragon Taxi straight back. The same exact route --- difference of about £10. What can we say? We definitely felt robbed during the outgoing journey! --- It's gotten to a point now where if I need a taxi in Cardiff, I only ever trust Dragon Taxi. Thank you so much in our hour of need. After my wife was dumped at a garage by another taxi firm (when her card wouldn't work at the cash point), he just drove off stranding her at 2am. I'm working in Kuwait and a quick call to Dragon and they sent a driver within minutes to pick my wife up. A massive thank you. However, after speaking to my wife today, she informed me that it was another Dragon Taxi driver who dumped a vulnerable woman alone at 2am!! Get your drivers sorted Dragon!!! If you want any taxies to get you around Cardiff, I have found that this taxies firm have been one of the better taxi firms in Cardiff. They are prompt and often arrive on time. They are quiet expensive when you travel on your own cause if you got a taxi from the Penylan area in Cardiff to Cardiff Bay it can cost between £10 to £15. They are friendly enough people and they have even picked me up when I've been on a street that has houses on, but that is not my own home address. I could even use an address there as that helps them locate the exact area where you are. Their cars are really posh and they are made of high quality stuff. I do absolutely recommend to all who can afford these taxies. They are based on Martin Road in Cardiff, but I would advise that you ring them up for a taxi. read more

Be very careful with this company. I waited a reasonable time for the taxi to show up, all started OK until I got into the taxi and attempted to provide an address - 4 problems: 1) Taxi driver had no idea where a major Cardiff address was. He was the area driver !! 2) Spoke poor English and had to use an effin GPS, entering information while driving which is illegal. After 15 attempts at trying to enter THE FIRST LINE of the address, he almost hit a street sign and the curb three times while driving. 3) After less than 4 mins of this bullshit, I asked the driver to pull over, to let me out immediately on the grounds of personal safety, incompetence and my lack of trust in him as a driver. 4) Driver complained to the company that I was rude and unpleasant. If by that he meant I was concerned for my personal safety and welfare, and my wallet because he had no idea where he was going or what he was doing, I'll accept it. Best advice, Cardiff has many competing companies. Try others before this one. I have many family and friends that I will continue to advise and block from using Red Dragon Taxi. I'll use blog sites and social media to do likewise and suppress this company's business on the grounds of reckless endangerment, safety concerns and gross incompetence. AVOID !! If I could leave zero stars I would have. Absolutely terrible service on Saturday night. We phoned in advance and got quoted £80 for a return to/from Penarth for 6 people. We then got charged £50 on the way out and told that return would be at least £55 and more if they had to send 2 cars - £45 each in which case. So in total, we could have ended up paying £140 instead of £80?- despite us being asked for credit card details to ensure booking. We were totally manipulated and conned and they were relying on fact the boxing was on in town so we'd have no other option. Conveniently, there was also no record of our earlier call, despite their being a note on the computer thar they'd pretty authorised return journey for £40 on my card. Will never use Dragon taxis again, even though I travel via cardiff airport and to and from Bridgend station every week. Bring back radio cabs. They actually understood customer service and cared that customers didnt get ripped off. It's premier cars all the way for me from now on. read more

Mostly good people the drivers. My main complaint was when one of their drivers held my seat belt to my throat to explain why he doesn't wear his. I asked him to remove his hand from my throat, which as you can imagine made for a very uncomfortable ride. Their complaints department said its legal for them to do this. I'm sure she was referring to the not wearing a seat belt, which is true, but that wasn't my complaint. The complaint was about physically touching me and that was not even commented on. I've taken cabs with Dragon for years and it's been gradually declining in quality and customer service as the size of the company grew. Tonight I ordered a cab from the central train station and chose from the location options that Dragon's own app generated. The front of the train station is undergoing major renovations, but there is a turning circle to the side of the station by the Big Sleep Z hotel. So in addition to the 'front' of the station option on the app, I also wrote in the notes to driver that the pick up would be from the side entrance. 10 minutes later I got a grumpy phone call from the driver giving me a bollocking because he went to the 'zero' entrance on the other side of the station. I explained where I was waiting and he intimated that I was wrong for being there and that it was inconveniencing him as he'd now have to drive around. When he pulled up, I began to walk towards the cab to try and make the pick up quicker given his previously expressed annoyance and I received a dismissive point/gesture that I should stay where I was, like I was a dog being instructed to stay. As soon as I got in, he proceeded to tell me exactly why I was wrong and how I should make a note of how to order a cab for future reference. Apparently, the front of the station is actually the back and the back is now the front. I requested he turned on the radio for the news, purely in a gentle effort to get him to stop correcting me and I just received a few narky, patronising comments about how it was too early for the news. Throughout the journey he talked about his deeply religious and personal experiences, continually cutting me off and basically I, the customer, was surplus to requirement. Terrible journey and after nearly 10 years of being a loyal Dragon customer, I'll be booking an uber in future. No paying customer deserves to be lectured. read more

Have been using the book ahead service for a while with no issues. Today when waiting for the pre booked taxi to arrive, another person jumped into the taxi , quite obvious that no checks were carried out by the driver to confirm pick up. I wonder if this had been late at night how would the person be then safe? The registration and time of taxi were all in the app. I immediately cancelled as advised by the office. Absolutely appalling! Saturday night, patiently waiting for a taxi in the taxi rank and every dragon taxi refused my fare because it wasn't a big enough fare, even though it was a £15 fare. Queues of people begging taxis for a fare and all declining. Absolutely appalling behaviour from the driver and staff including manager. Would not return a phone that was left in a car which had a bank card and other bits in, leaving a vulnerable disabled lady who lives on her own might I add with no means of communication. Although he offered to bring the phone back if she paid for the taxi fare and when she refused he refused to drop the phone off! We we're given a lots of different stories firstly it had apparently been dropped off at the police station but this was not the case then the phone was apparently dropped of to a random guy at a random street and a random house none of us had heard of. We finally got it back from the police station but we have no idea how it actually got there. As far as the staff we're concerned they couldn't do anything their side and hung up on us multiple times! He was annoyed that I had to stop for cash and made comments that made me feel as though he didn't want to be working for dragon and made me feel extremely uncomfortable, I had to stop the cab early to get out and walk home. read more

Awful service!! Didn't tell us they were outside. We ordered a taxi for 10.15pm, over an hour in advance, we were outside in the rain at 10.17pm in the rain waiting for the taxi but no taxi arrived, had no notification what so ever via app, text or phone call, We rang to find out what was going on at 10.20pm and the woman was just common and rude, told us that she would send another but wouldn't even tell us the time. Don't mind us, forget customer service well just stand out in the rain unnecessarily and of no fault of our own. To top it off we paid over the odds for our ticket for the venue we were attending, we got there late and had to pay for a whole new ticket. Absolutely fuming! read more

Up until Saturday we used only ever used Dragon Taxi when we needed a taxi. However, after the service we received on Saturday we are going to be trying other companies. We had booked a taxi and when we rung to enquire where it was the man at the call centre was so rude. When we asked for his name to complain and said he was cancelling our cab. We always thought their app was great but it needs to give you an estimated time if the taxi is going to be late. Also have our taxi was cancelled and we arranged other transport, the taxi driver still came to our house. So the system needs some work. I will say that their customer service was helpful and replied to my complaint email very quickly and I did feel I was listened to. So I do appreciate that. But I think we'll try other companies before using Dragon Taxi again. read more

I have been using dragon taxis now for a number of years and found them mostly reliable with just the odd hiccup but yesterday Sunday was dreadful, myself and three friends had contacted dragon to order our taxi which we do every Sunday we normally get a text sadly no text so after standing in the wind an rain for 40 min you can imagine we were not best pleased I rang dragon again to ask where our taxi was I was told It had been and gone this was a blatant lie the location we were at is well known and it would have been impossible not to have seen us or us to not have seen the taxi the discussion taking place was getting a bit heated from both parties which resulted in the woman slamming the phone down but having said all this I no really no one really cares at Dragon but that does not matter but I do not Like to be lied to when I'm paying good money the fare would have been at least £12 pounds and the only way for us to get any redress is for us not to use Dragon again so that is the action we have decided to take also getting as many friends and family members to do the same so au revoir Dragon Larry read more

Got a taxi from Novotel hotel on Friday to Cardiff bay cost £4.80 at 7.35pm. Got a taxi back at 9.50pm and taxi drive never put meter on. When we got to hotel asked for £12.00 when I said it was £4.80 there he said night fair more expensive and £10 would do. Be careful clearly Cardiff taxis scam you like London taxis. read more

I contacted Dragon Taxis online to book a taxi last week. The online estimate for the journey was £34.60. When I got to the airport the fare was £43.80. I questioned the driver who told me "it is what is on the meter". I had to pay as I was in a rush for my flight. Once I had booked I immediately contacted Dragon Taxi - who traced my route and agreed there were too many deviations from a standard route. They said that they would investigate and get back to me. 6 days and still waiting. Poor transparency on fares and poor customer service!! read more

Attended the ed sheeran concert 24.6.18. Afterwards we needed to get home to st mellons. We approached numerous taxis and every one of them refused to take us as it wasn't a huge distance. I managed to find a taxi who then offered to take us for £60! We continued to Churchill way where we found a decent taxi driver from another company who took us home. The fare cost £14. There were parents with children trying to get home and people that needed to get home for work early in the morning. Plenty of taxis about but none were interested in short journeys though I wouldn't say st mellons is short really. Really disappointed and disgusted to be honest. I wouldn't give them 1 star but have to pick 1 in order to post this review! read more

Horrible taxi company. As a visitor to the city, I called a taxi and was told to wait 10 minutes. No one called and when I called back I'm told it's on its way. I then call back 5 minutes later to be told the Taxi's picked someone else up. For a city this small, I can't imagine how difficult it is to operate a taxi company.. but these guys manage to screw it up. Just to say first. I use Dragon for a long time now and only had some very minor issues with, for exaple the automated service makes me feel like no one cares but thats everywhere now.Drivers are always very nice and service is quite quick. However few hours ago after long day at work I called Dragons dispach. Requested a cab, after 10 -15 min while waiting outside in heavy rain I recived txt that the driver was waiting outside but I was outside and there was no cab. I called dispach few min later and the woman tried to convince me that I wasn't waiting for it and driver was there. They send another one, again I got the text and automated phonecall that driver its on his way and by pressing 2 on keypad I can contact him directly , which I did and I heard message: " your cab has been cancelled. Thank you" How lovely. Then I called dispach ones more (bear in mind that is friday night, heavy rain and I have just been at work for 12h) and the woman who was talking to me was the most horrible person I have ever talk to, she went definetley to wrong line of work. Customer service is fairly easy but not everyone can do it. She disconnect me 3 times. No one called me when the first cab "arrived" where Am I, and whats is happening. Finally after 4th or even fifth phonecall I reached Lady called Leslie and suddenly everything was easy, Obviously Leslie knows what she is doing and providing great service I got a cab in 7min period. If anyone from "Dragon" office reading this, you'll hear from me very soon as this is just a beggining of my complain. I wont stop until there will be some consequences to that lady person at the dispach who infact claimed she was a manager on duty that night. read more

I recently booked a Taxi to pick me up from a children's nursery. The Taxi sent did not have child seats (WHY send a Taxi to a nursery or a school pick up and not expect your passengers to be children) I was then lectured by the driver the ENTIRE journey because I hadn't provided my own child car seats ! I don't own car seats because I don't drive... THAT'S WHY I BOOKED A TAXI! It was an extremely awkward journey and to top it off, he didn't even give me my change! I Won't ever be using them again! Hi, I'd just like to make a comment or two about one of your drivers and my experience the other night. I was leaving my local and one of the regulars was very drunk. I called her a taxi and waited to make sure she got in the car safe. I noticed the taxi stayed there for a while so I went to see what the problem was. She had no cash and was too drunk to even give her postcode! Nightmare. She said she lived in Rhydfelen. After much trouble getting any information out of her, the driver said he couldn't take her in that state unless I jumped in and he'd give me a lift back for free. So not knowing of the adventure soon to plague us, we all made our way to Rhydfelen.. Yay! As we took a fine tour of Rhyd, she explained that she didn't recognise any part of the place!! After much searching we found her house and I said to the driver, "I'll walk her in and get some cash from her house to pay for it.." (£15 at this point). We get to her front door, rather comically she hasn't got her bloody key, AND there's no one else home.. To the drivers delight back in the taxi we go.. I manage to steal her phone and contact a mutual friend of ours to see if she could stay with her. The friend tells me she doesn't even live in Rhydfelen anymore.. She lives in Nantgarw with her mum. OH MY GOD! I exclaimed. "To Nantgarw driver!" I said, slightly pissed off.. As we approached Nantgarw I asked for her phone to call her mum to explain the situation and ask if she could pay the fare. I then get a mouthful of abuse from the lady, "DON'T phone my mum. She mustn't know about this..". As I thought to myself, I could just kill her and say she got home safe... Her phone rang, it's a male friend invitng her to go to his place (no doubt to make sure she gets to sleep okay and doesn't choke on her own vomit in the night!? No other agenda surely?). "Take me to Caerphilly!!" She screeched. I thought, well there's gonna be someone there who can pay the fare. Brilliant. We get to the front door in Caerphilly and the lovely gentleman that answered said "who the f*ck are you!?". I explained the situation to the chivalrous chap and he told me I was "Having a f**king laugh" going to his house asking for money for the taxi driver. Maybe I was in the wrong asking him for some payment for traveling around the country with his bit of skirt. However I persevered with my plan. I walked in with her determined to get some money for this driver who had more patience than anyone I've ever met! To my surprise there were a couple of people in the well mannered gentleman's house from another local I used to attend who are genuine lovely people. With no hesitation they gave me the full £25 (and the extra £5 I found for the driver in her bag whilst searching for her house key!) And I was on my way. The driver was delighted I managed to get the money and give him a £5 tip (though he deserved a lot more) and he dropped me back home safely. So to, Amin the taxi driver that night, I thank you for your patience and your help! You are a credit to taxi drivers everywhere. You guys really put up with some shit! Cheers Dragon! read more

The only thing I can say about this taxi service is STAY AWAY. The service received by dragon taxi Cardiff was unprofessional, rude and unnecessary. From the taxi driver driving away because of "banging on his window" to the rude receptionist on the end of the phone was nothing but despicable. I can honestly say I will never use this taxi service again and for sure will not be recommending it especially to the female younger generation. read more

Awful service. Show up late, no apologies or offers to make things right. App company uses doesn't actually make a difference to your journey. It doesn't show the drivers your destination or at least the two drivers I've come across don't know how to use it. Their Sat Nav seems to conveniently lengthen the journey out so you have to pay more too. When I called customer service to complain, the gentleman (I use the term sarcastically - he was nothing of the sort) resorted to making up outright lies about the booking. Disgusting. Accidentally left my phone in the taxi, the driver was honest enough to report it to the company but when i called the company they refused to put me in touch with the driver and instead kept telling me to call back. I called back FIVE times throughout the day but they were rude and unhelpful, absolutely doing nothing to help me get the phone back which they have admitted to having! Used the online booking form and put all my info in there - NEVER BOOK WITH DRAGON ONLINE. Also, NEVER BOOK WITH DRAGON DURING RUSH HOUR - THEY CAN NOT HANDLE THAT KIND OF PRESSURE!! Their booking form does not display at their end and they WILL NOT take responsibility for their system not giving them all the booking info. They messed up my booking and made me late for work - the manager I spoke to, Sian, didn't care and blamed all of their incompetence on me! Do NOT book with this company! I am absolutely appalled at the service from dragon taxis the last few months, and also the employers. Not just as a customer, but as a member of the public, they seem to think they own the road. On countless occasions there have been taxi drivers speeding along very small urban areas, particularly in Cathays, endangering everyone around them including myself and then when they actually have to slow down as someone's crossing the road they get aggressive or intimidating! You need to teach your company employers some respect for the road, it is understandable that they have been 'driving for years and know the roads' but that is absolutely not an excuse to act like pigs when driving. Furthermore, as a cyclist it is ALWAYS dragon taxis that pass me with virtually no room, only earlier today this happened and there were centimetres between my bike and the taxi! It is not on, just because they have been driving for years does NOT mean they can do away with any road safety whatsoever. Even the service has been poor, one taxi I ordered after a 9 hour shift rang me about 3 times and when I eventually got out of work it just drove off! What kind of service is this?! At least wait a good 10/15 minutes regardless of whether anyone turns up because you don't know what situation they are in. It would also be nice to talk to someone that co-operates on the phone line as well, I don't know who you are employing but virtually every time I've rung up I've had to spell out the entire street name of my destination, and it comes across as it's such an inconvenience when booking a taxi, with no courtesy at all. Will not be using dragon taxis at all anymore. I have never felt so intimidated by a taxi company in my life. If you want a reliable and friendly service dragon is out of the question! read more
