Had a reservation for 6:15 pm and didn't get sat until 7:00. The table we were waiting on stayed way longer than expected, but just annoying that we had to wait for so long. Do not go here for brunch. Not many people when we got there maybe 3 full tables and a single guy. Good took nearly an hour to get. We ordered drinks which were good and the brisk spirits were great. When the food finally came out my wife's French toast and potatoes were move and warm and delicious. I ordered the crab cake Benedict which came with no hollandaise sauce (which was like water) to begin with and a side of bacon. Then I tried the tiny bits and pieces of potatoes and they were cold not even close to warm. I asked the server for actual sauce and she said yeah that's weird that it didn't have sauce. Yet you brought it anyways? I received the sauce immediately and attempted to eat the Benedict and it was also cold. The bacon was cold as well. The server took it back and brought it back a few minutes later. They did not make a new one they warmed it in the microwave which is ridiculous to begin with, I then tried the potatoes they were barely warm and the Benedict was still cold. Pretty pitiful for a "fine dining establishment" to just out all their food in the microwave and expect people to pay the prices they are asking. If you were swamped I could understand you might moss something here and there but there was absolutely no one there. read more

The star is for our server who was nice enough. We sat at the bar and had drinks because the wait for our table would be 15-20 minutes... no prob! The bartender was courteous and the drinks we good enough. We ordered "cheese curds" at the bar. The menu said "not your neighbor's cheese curds" and offered a vodka sauce. What came (10 minutes after we were seated at our table), we're not cheese curds at all. They were yesterday's mac and cheese, cut in cubes, fried and served with a cold tomato sauce. Very underwhelming, and also, not a curd. Our server was friendly, she explained the specials and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu before we ordered. A burger, a stuffed shrimp dish and a glass of wine for me. And then we waited... And waited... And waited... at one point I got up to use the bathroom and I got a glimpse into the kitchen which had a ton of food sitting in the window and none coming out. I came back to our table and still no food. (Ironically, the table next to us asked about the manager and the server said he was there, but in the office.) Our server stopped by and told us she would check on our food, as it had been 30 minutes since placing our order. She came back and said, "they're still working on it!" Another 15 minutes go by and finally... finally... our food comes out. The cheese on my burger was congealed (it had been sitting in the window for a bit I am sure), my fries were lukewarm, and my boyfriend's shrimp dish looked pretty but was also lukewarm, and the risotto tasted like nothing. No salt, no cheese... like rice and milk cooked together. We asked for our check when the food was dropped because we had not anticipated being there for almost three hours and had a long drive ahead of us. Between the bar tab and our table, we spent a little more than $100 w tip. Perhaps they were having a bad night, but this was so bad. What a waste, at least we didn't get food poisoning. read more

This establishment does the Impossible Burger better than any place else I've visited. It's served with arugula, sun dried tomatoes and balsamic glaze on a toasted bun with uniquely- shaped fries and choice of BBQ, ranch or honey mustard dipping sauce. We came here on the Janesville Wine Walk for the free cheese curd appetizer and stayed for lunch. I'm pretty confident everything from the kitchen is superb based on the amazing cheese curd they were providing for the event and the entree we ordered. Came in for a late lunch and ordered an 8 beer flight and we had a burger and their cuban sandwich. They were out of several beers, which was kind of a bummer. But the ones we got were all tasty with the exception of the vanilla variety, which neither of us really cared for. The Benedict was missing that tangy tastiness you typically get from a hollandaise sauce. It was a bit bland, though the crab cake was delicious and the egg was cooked perfectly! Came here for a late lunch around 2pm on a Sunday. It wasn't very busy so we were seated right away. It's a beautiful modern space located downtown with ample street parking. We ordered the Draft Craft Burger which was delicious! The fries it came with were great too, they looked different than your normal fries. They looked like half curls that resembled a comma (,) Yes, the punctuation mark, lol! We also ordered the pretzel which was almost as big as a plate that arrived on a pretzel holder with beer cheese dipping sauce which we enjoyed as well. And we ordered the Harvest Salad. It was very good. I love roasted butternut squash but it was a little too mushy for my liking. Regardless, I still enjoyed the rest of the salad with the sliced pears, apples, goat cheese and lots of dried cranberries. We had great service here and liked the overall experience. Wow! We were driving through on I-90 and found Drafthouse here on yelp and I am so glad we just "went with it"! The pretzel was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Really, the best we've ever had. The beer section is vast and the menu has a little for everyone. They do have a kids menu (just ask...I guess it changes so they don't have one printed. When we went the options were chicken tenders, pizza and mac-n-cheese). My daughters said the Mac and cheese was just okay. But really everything else we had was wonderful! Mussles, tuna bowl, pork chops and kids chicken tenders. Simply wonderful! And the service was attentive to boot! If you're close, driving through or staying in the area, this would be a great place for lunch or dinner. Oh! I made a pick up order for this restaurant thru door dash. I went to pick it up and the bar tender rudely informed me that they no longer participated in doordash. Even though doordash gave me a time to pick up my order and already charged me for it. When I informed her of that she continued to be rude and told me that she didn't know what to tell me except to contact door dash and walked away from me. I would contact door dash and if it was not their fault then I still really wanted to order their food. So I asked for a manager so that I could tell him that. He came up to me, knowing my problem, and was very rude also, saying that it was door dashes problem, there was nothing they could do, and he walked away from me too. I went there on a mid week day for some late-ish night eats and adult beverages. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overly so. The food was pretty good. For a gasto-pub it is just in line with the quality and variety I would expect. The Atmosphere was above the expected with the marble bar top and dark bar. The beverages that we had were really good. if everything else was meh the drinks would bring it up to good. I was visiting WI from TX. What a delight to discover a diversified menu with top quality selections. It is NOT the standard "bar food" with lots of fried, cheap food. The burger was exceptional (blends of top quality meats). The mixed drink menu is the same--innovative options with top quality liquors. Another benefit is the bar tender Billy. He's happy to design/make a drink that matches your desires. Billy is also warm, friendly, and makes sitting at the bar an entertaining experience. I think we found our new favorite restaurant: worth the drive to Janesville from Williams Bay. Crab cakes on English muffins topped with egg Benedict and delicious hollandaise sauce. This may sound crazy--and I've never said anything like this before--but it was the perfect ratio of all the flavors...they melded together perfectly, which can be tricky with so many distinct flavors in one dish. Best food in Janesville! My husband and I went on a recent gorgeous Saturday afternoon and sat on the patio. While the aesthetics of the patio leave something to be desired, they don't have a lot to work with and did what they could. The inside is gorgeous with a perfect mix of modern and rustic decor. We had some local beers and cheese curds to start. These were not your average cheese curds -- delicious!! My husband had a burger that was cooked to perfection and was giant! The fries are to die for! I had a flat bread with candied bacon, mushrooms and onions with a garlic aioli -- delish! Zach greeted us so politely and gave us very good information about the area. Lynnea, behind the bar, was also very attentive and informative, not only about the restaurant but about the great must see places as well. We stopped in here for a beer and tried the calamari. We used the curb side pickup for Friday fish. We stared with the cheese curds, a different take on the usual. Came piping hot with a great light red sauce, plenty for two people to share. The walleye filets were lightly breaded and had a perfect cook. They were done leaving them still moist and tasty. Loved the new potatoes, cooked perfectly. This week was my father in laws 78th birthday. We live out of state but still wanted to have/provide a birthday dinner. We saw that the drafhouse was offering delivery service so we jumped on it.
