Solid venue with ample chairs and tables to find a cozy space to enjoy your weekend brunch here. They have great appetizers and side dishes with their oven baked toasty Brussel sprouts that were effortlessly flaky and sweet with crisp tones of maple syrup or other collaboratively infused sweetness without overbearing the balance of flavors. Served over a warm skillet was comforting way to enjoy dessert like veggies. I am looking forward to trying other items in future. read more

Excellent lunch at drafthouse! We enjoyed cheese curds, burgers, and beers! The curds were cubes, super unique but we liked them! Extensive tap list with rotating seasonals and specials, we will definitely be back for more. Drafthouse is the perfect spot for grabbing a beer with friends or staying awhile for dinner. read more

This restaurant seems to be in need of some work with their service. Used to be fantastic. Tonight, tried to go to dinner, sat at the bar and waited ten minutes before leaving. Bartender was not engaged and didn't take our order. Someone gave us waters when we sat down and we never saw them again. It was such a bummer to have this experience this evening. We were definitely looking forward to a great cocktail and meal, but left disappointed and with a negative experience. They didn't seem to be understaffed as plenty of wait staff were hanging by the bar and someone was even sitting at a table in the middle of the restaurant during the dinner hour and wrapping silverware. read more

This is our second stop here and while the first was delightful, today's was not. Still a good beer selection, but the food and cocktails have dropped off in quality significantly. We ordered the same exact items, cheese curds, chicken & waffles and avocado toast. Curds weren't cooked long enough, toast was brick hard and eggs were underwhelming. The potatoes had no flavor, and they changed the glaze on the chicken & waffles to a honey that kind of ruined the dish by being way too sweet. The bloody Mary and Irish coffee both were lackluster and we didn't finish either or the food. Twice bartenders asked about the food and I mentioned that it wasn't impressive and they just said sorry and walked away. read more

Great atmosphere and service. Cheese curds are not to be missed! Its location downtown was good for travelers to see more of the town than the interstate highway. read more

Very nice, will definitely come back. Cocktails were great, I had the mojito and my husband had the Strawberry Bourbon Smash. We started off with mahi mahi tacos which were delicious. I had the strawberry salad and my husband had the steak and Bleu pasta without the bleu. My salad was great his pasta was under seasoned but the meat was cooked perfectly. I'm coming back for the creme brûlée cheesecake!! read more

The food was reallly bland. The seating was too close to the next table. The service was good. I had high hopes because the food all looked good but it just had no flavor. read more

We had a wonderful night out at drafthouse! It was our first time going and I highly recommend it. It exceeded my expectations! We start with mojitos and old fashioneds and both were excellent and well crafted. For dinner we had the salmon and the blue cheese steak. Both were soooo good and they clearly have a great kitchen staff. Service was professional and friendly. The ambiance is great for our date night. We made 5pm reservations on the Friday night just to be safe and it was half full at that time. The restaurant was mostly full when we left. We are excited to return! read more

Had a reservation for 6:15 pm and didn't get sat until 7:00. The table we were waiting on stayed way longer than expected, but just annoying that we had to wait for so long. To make up for it, they gave us 4 free appetizers which was super nice of them. Server honestly wasn't great. Had to go to the bar and get our drinks as she rarely checked on us. Food was good. Took awhile to come out, but it was a busy night so that's usually expected. Would I go back? Probably, but just hoping for a better experience next time! read more

The star is for our server who was nice enough. We sat at the bar and had drinks because the wait for our table would be 15-20 minutes... no prob! The bartender was courteous and the drinks we good enough. We ordered "cheese curds" at the bar. The menu said "not your neighbor's cheese curds" and offered a vodka sauce. What came (10 minutes after we were seated at our table), we're not cheese curds at all. They were yesterday's mac and cheese, cut in cubes, fried and served with a cold tomato sauce. Very underwhelming, and also, not a curd. Our server was friendly, she explained the specials and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu before we ordered. A burger, a stuffed shrimp dish and a glass of wine for me. And then we waited... And waited... And waited... at one point I got up to use the bathroom and I got a glimpse into the kitchen which had a ton of food sitting in the window and none coming out. I came back to our table and still no food. (Ironically, the table next to us asked about the manager and the server said he was there, but in the office.) Our server stopped by and told us she would check on our food, as it had been 30 minutes since placing our order. She came back and said, "they're still working on it!" Another 15 minutes go by and finally... finally... our food comes out. The cheese on my burger was congealed (it had been sitting in the window for a bit I am sure), my fries were lukewarm, and my boyfriend's shrimp dish looked pretty but was also lukewarm, and the risotto tasted like nothing. No salt, no cheese... like rice and milk cooked together. We asked for our check when the food was dropped because we had not anticipated being there for almost three hours and had a long drive ahead of us. Between the bar tab and our table, we spent a little more than $100 w tip. Perhaps they were having a bad night, but this was so bad. What a waste, at least we didn't get food poisoning. read more

We had a friend go in and get us a table ahead of us and as soon as my party walked in the hostess muttered "oh my fucking god" under her breath while rolling her eyes at us. We sat down and immediately left after the disrespect from this establishment. read more

We had a great time at Drafthouse. We stopped in here after axe throwing at papa doc's down the street. I was craving a burger and MAN did I get it. It was pretty quiet for a Friday night but the food was great. Service was a little pushy but mostly friendly. We will definitely be back! read more

This establishment does the Impossible Burger better than any place else I've visited. It's served with arugula, sun dried tomatoes and balsamic glaze on a toasted bun with uniquely- shaped fries and choice of BBQ, ranch or honey mustard dipping sauce. We came here on the Janesville Wine Walk for the free cheese curd appetizer and stayed for lunch. I'm pretty confident everything from the kitchen is superb based on the amazing cheese curd they were providing for the event and the entree we ordered. Our server was friendly and quick to refill our drinks. Will definitely be back! read more

The vibe is friendly & stylish. We ordered the chicken & waffles and Crab Benedict. Chicken & waffles were perfect, we'll balanced and didn't even need to add any syrup. The Benedict was missing that tangy tastiness you typically get from a hollandaise sauce. It was a bit bland, though the crab cake was delicious and the egg was cooked perfectly! The "not spicy" Bloody Mary was quite sweet, which was strange to me, but each to their own. I won't be ordering one there again though read more

Came in for a late lunch and ordered an 8 beer flight and we had a burger and their cuban sandwich. They were out of several beers, which was kind of a bummer. But the ones we got were all tasty with the exception of the vanilla variety, which neither of us really cared for. The building itself is beautiful - we'll plan to return in the summer when we can enjoy their nice spot on the river! It was a little loud, but they have tried to mitigate the noise with some acoustic panels between the 2nd floor joists. Hard with a historic building... read more

Came here for a late lunch around 2pm on a Sunday. It wasn't very busy so we were seated right away. It's a beautiful modern space located downtown with ample street parking. We ordered the Draft Craft Burger which was delicious! The fries it came with were great too, they looked different than your normal fries. They looked like half curls that resembled a comma (,) Yes, the punctuation mark, lol! We also ordered the pretzel which was almost as big as a plate that arrived on a pretzel holder with beer cheese dipping sauce which we enjoyed as well. And we ordered the Harvest Salad. It was very good. I love roasted butternut squash but it was a little too mushy for my liking. Regardless, I still enjoyed the rest of the salad with the sliced pears, apples, goat cheese and lots of dried cranberries. We had great service here and liked the overall experience. We would definitely go back! read more

Wow! We were driving through on I-90 and found Drafthouse here on yelp and I am so glad we just "went with it"! The pretzel was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Really, the best we've ever had. The beer section is vast and the menu has a little for everyone. They do have a kids menu (just ask...I guess it changes so they don't have one printed. When we went the options were chicken tenders, pizza and mac-n-cheese). My daughters said the Mac and cheese was just okay. But really everything else we had was wonderful! Mussles, tuna bowl, pork chops and kids chicken tenders. Simply wonderful! And the service was attentive to boot! If you're close, driving through or staying in the area, this would be a great place for lunch or dinner. Oh! And they do have a cute patio, but it's not entirely shaded, so maybe not an option when the sun is overhead and the air temps are Scortching. read more

I went there on a mid week day for some late-ish night eats and adult beverages. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overly so. The food was pretty good. For a gasto-pub it is just in line with the quality and variety I would expect. The Atmosphere was above the expected with the marble bar top and dark bar. The beverages that we had were really good. if everything else was meh the drinks would bring it up to good. Everything was good and so the drinks bring it up to I would definitely go back again great! read more

Do not go here for brunch. Not many people when we got there maybe 3 full tables and a single guy. Good took nearly an hour to get. We ordered drinks which were good and the brisk spirits were great. When the food finally came out my wife's French toast and potatoes were move and warm and delicious. I ordered the crab cake Benedict which came with no hollandaise sauce (which was like water) to begin with and a side of bacon. Then I tried the tiny bits and pieces of potatoes and they were cold not even close to warm. I asked the server for actual sauce and she said yeah that's weird that it didn't have sauce. Yet you brought it anyways? I received the sauce immediately and attempted to eat the Benedict and it was also cold. The bacon was cold as well. The server took it back and brought it back a few minutes later. They did not make a new one they warmed it in the microwave which is ridiculous to begin with, I then tried the potatoes they were barely warm and the Benedict was still cold. Pretty pitiful for a "fine dining establishment" to just out all their food in the microwave and expect people to pay the prices they are asking. If you were swamped I could understand you might moss something here and there but there was absolutely no one there. read more

I came here for a date night on a Wednesday night and it was decently full. Janesville needs more restaurants like this for sure. The decor is super sleek and inviting. The seating is nice and can accommodate huge groups if need be. The food is so so so good. I really loved the chorizo stuffed dates and the oysters. They also have an expansive drink list. I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to go again! read more

I think we found our new favorite restaurant: worth the drive to Janesville from Williams Bay. Crab cakes on English muffins topped with egg Benedict and delicious hollandaise sauce. This may sound crazy--and I've never said anything like this before--but it was the perfect ratio of all the flavors...they melded together perfectly, which can be tricky with so many distinct flavors in one dish. Served with rosemary potatoes, which were also perfect. And a mimosa, of course. Hubby had lobster mac 'n cheese, and it was also delicious. They serve their creative and extensive breakfast menu on Saturdays till 3 p.m., and you can order from their lunch and dinner menu after 1 p.m.: the overlap was perfect for us. read more

I was visiting WI from TX. What a delight to discover a diversified menu with top quality selections. It is NOT the standard "bar food" with lots of fried, cheap food. The burger was exceptional (blends of top quality meats). The mixed drink menu is the same--innovative options with top quality liquors. Another benefit is the bar tender Billy. He's happy to design/make a drink that matches your desires. Billy is also warm, friendly, and makes sitting at the bar an entertaining experience. If I lived in Janesville, the Drafthouse could easily become my 'Cheers bar'. read more

Stop by on our way to Madison for a quick lunch here. Very friendly spacious place good for large groups and family friendly. Great selection of drink options. Janesville is still rebuilding their streets in the continually renovating downtown area. This place is very modern, clean with a great menu and beer and drink choices. Zach greeted us so politely and gave us very good information about the area. Lynnea, behind the bar, was also very attentive and informative, not only about the restaurant but about the great must see places as well. We stopped in here for a beer and tried the calamari. It was lightly breaded, well spiced and came with a unique jelly pepper sauce. They have Sunday thru Thursday happy hours, with drink and oysters specials and a Walleye Friday. Nice atmosphere for sure... read more

I made a pick up order for this restaurant thru door dash. I went to pick it up and the bar tender rudely informed me that they no longer participated in doordash. Even though doordash gave me a time to pick up my order and already charged me for it. When I informed her of that she continued to be rude and told me that she didn't know what to tell me except to contact door dash and walked away from me. I would contact door dash and if it was not their fault then I still really wanted to order their food. So I asked for a manager so that I could tell him that. He came up to me, knowing my problem, and was very rude also, saying that it was door dashes problem, there was nothing they could do, and he walked away from me too. So I did not get a chance to tell him that I still wanted to order the food either. So not only did they lose my business that night, but indefinitely! Very Rude Ambiance! read more

We did a "wing-it" vacation this year. The first night we landed in Janesville, WI. We ate at Drafthouse- The tasty Zesty Salmon Tacos along with the great service provided by our server, Allison, brought us back the next evening. This dessert will be a great way to end your meal at the restaurant or as a "take away". read more

Best food in Janesville! My husband and I went on a recent gorgeous Saturday afternoon and sat on the patio. While the aesthetics of the patio leave something to be desired, they don't have a lot to work with and did what they could. The inside is gorgeous with a perfect mix of modern and rustic decor. We had some local beers and cheese curds to start. These were not your average cheese curds -- delicious!! My husband had a burger that was cooked to perfection and was giant! The fries are to die for! I had a flat bread with candied bacon, mushrooms and onions with a garlic aioli -- delish! We recently moved to WI and have been trying out all of the little towns nearby and this is hands down the best place we've been to. Service was great too! We will definitely be back! read more

We used the curb side pickup for Friday fish. We stared with the cheese curds, a different take on the usual. Came piping hot with a great light red sauce, plenty for two people to share.
