I, Henry Guzman Villalobos(Apache/Yaqui Native American) Writer/Researcher of Federal law, Native American Rights, etc, was a patient of Dr. Topufan Razi, for over 15 years for chronic severe pain. One day in his office he told me that he could not prescribe my pain medicine(Morphine) anymore, without explaining his motive for taking my much needed pain medicine from me. HORRIBLE!!!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE FOR CHRONIC PAIN. Dr Razi and the entire staff at this supposed "Pain Management Clinic" continually treated my mother (in her 70s) *like a criminal* for needing a pain pill a day (norco) for her several serious conditions. After filling her doctor-prescribed pain med for over a couple of years, they decided out of the blue that she should no longer receive norco or any similar pain opioid... even though they manage the dose. They kept denying her prescription, making her jump through hoops to even speak with a qualified medical professional. NOW on top of Dr. Razi and Boomerang staff treating her like a tweaked out druggie (and she's the sweetest and very pretty mom), no other physicians will then prescribe her anything when they see a Pain Clinic on her medical chart to manage meds. They all send her back to Dr. Razi. So I went into an appointment with her to ask them if they have even examined her physically. He won't even look at her. SUCH AN UNPROFESSIONAL BULLY CHILD. It's egregious malpractice (legally I don't know, but definitely unconscionable). So I asked Dr. Razi to explain why he won't prescribe even the lowest dose Norco, and he stood up, turned his back on us and left the room shutting the door telling us to leave if we want to talk about Norco. SO UNPROFESSIONAL, SO CRUEL. THEIR SOLUTION? Instead of 1 norco pill per day, they tell her to take MULTIPLE medications with horrible side effects. They make her very dizzy (in danger of falling and breaking bones). They meds even give her canker sores and cracked skin around her mouth from extreme dry mouth making it painful to eat. And these meds do *very little* to alleviate any of her extreme chronic pain. She called to get an appointment to talk about these different medications and possible adjustments for her side effects. They told her they will no longer see her and she needs to find another clinic. UNBELIEVABLE. I'M SHOOK AND ANGRY. You might wonder... were we too upset or emotional when we went to speak to them. My mom is one of the softest-spoken people, and I am too -I'm very calm, I believe in listening, and he wouldn't even treat my mom like a human being dealing with serious life-altering pain. I am not complaining about the office staff or the doctor's demeanor. My complaint is that my pain has not been managed at this pain management clinic. I have severe arthritis and I am hardly a drug addict. I have not been prescribed any type of pain medication - ever! Each time I go there I am asked what my pain level is and then I am instructed to take more Gabapentin. I don't know what others experience with Gabapentin, but for me, it does absolutely nothing for the pain. The only thing that happens is I go to sleep while just sitting in a chair or sitting in my car in a parking lot. I was scheduled for surgery this month but it was cancelled and rescheduled for next month. I am in severe pain as I'm writing this. I called the Drs office and was told he wasn't available but they could give me an appointment next Thursday with his associate. Next Thursday is six days away so I guess I am just going to have to suffer. I had such high hopes for this pain management clinic and I am so disappointed. read more

I was a patient of Dr Razi under Boomerang Health from 7/23-01/24. I was referred by my pain management specialist, who retired. I am 67 years old, have severe osteoarthritis, and have had a legitimate prescription for Norco. Do NOT seek help for severe chronic pain through Dr Razi or Boomerang. His sole intent was to get me off opioids very quickly. In addition to Dr Razi's complete disinterest in any reasonable alternatives, such as bupenorphrine, he doesn't care about his patients. He treated me like a drug addict/loser. The remaining phone calls were by nice but powerless NP's/PA's. Boomerang itself is a joke! There is no way a patient can get a message to any medical care provider. God help any patient who goes to them expecting any legitimate care. I now have a Dr who actually treats me like a real person. Shame on you Boomerang. read more

I had a prescription that needed to be refilled. It-s been more then a month that I have tried to get a medication replaced. I even did a police report like I was supposed to do. I-ve had 2 appointments already and have no answer for the dr if the NEW medication is working. Also I was supposed to get someone to call to schedule a procedure and still nothing. After years of pain I went to Pacific pain institute as a last resort. And it was the best decision I ever made and I wish I did it sooner. Doctors dismissed my pain complaints and referred me to a therapist. After seeing nurse practitioner Lisa Cong she ordered tests/mri and found the cause of my pain. She also made suggestions to change my medications until we found what worked best for me. She has helped me so much. Im so thankful for her knowledge and patience. I would definitely recommend this office. And Nivia at the front desk is wonderful!! read more

PLEASE FOR THE SAKE OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE PAIN. As a workers comp victim finding pain management has been a challenge, so for the last year, I have driven to 4 different offices and because I complained to the Doctor that I wasn't notified of his office move, before, I was released as his patient Let me clarify, he did not ask me what my pain level was until he had argued with me dismissing my complaint completely. Just to prove how difficult I am with this doctor, I specifically requested an appointment to meet with the doctor, not his PA, but also deliver to his receptionist, a hand made baby blanket. I have not raised my voice until today when I felt that I needed to be heard. He heard me and decided that he didn't need to treat me, nor did I ever feel that he cared. Being released by him now leaves me with no pain management and I have really been through the ringer with the medical profession in the last 2 years, 18 doctors, numerous Physical Therapists, and I have not once during this adventure felt more abandoned and so unimportant at the same time. Years ago, I was poorly treated by the front end of a doctors office. His receptionist was out of control, so I went to another doctor. It cost him no less than 65 patients before my Christmas card reached him. None of my complaints had made it through the blockade she was in charge of. Only 1/3 of us returned to this doctor who I may say has the best front staff. They are courteous, kind, detailed and never make me feel bad. After today, I hope that more than 65 people leave this highly paid tool of the Workers Compensation Program. He is the most dispassionate doctor I have ever met or dealt with. Not only did the injection leave me in horrific pain, Dr. Razi claimed that I had a migraine - which was not the case. Then he disappeared for months, leaving me to see a PA who didn't even have my chart, let alone my MRI results. Run the other way. It's not worth it. read more

Dr. Razi 's professionalism is beyond my expectations. The office is well maintained. Back office ladies are always smiling and there to address my concerns when needed. Physician assistants are just as good. He ensures me the office will do what they can for approvals of proper treatments. read more

I was injured in 2012 and lived in San Leandro at the time. For a year and a half we drove to a pain management physician in Fremont whose office staff was horrible. Nobody in the office was well versed in workers compensation, much less federal work comp. Finally, I had enough and looked for a physician closer to my home. Dr. Razi was 5 minutes from my home, the office staff was great, and they are well versed in federal Work Comp. Since then, we have moved to Sacramento and I have continued to see him in the Fairfield office because they are that good! I would highly recommend! read more

I just fired him today. I have well documented injury to back and hip and was experiencing extreme pain more than usual. I called to be seen ahead of my monthly visit because the herniated disk in my back was way more painful than usual. He was kind enough to see me but did nothing to address by increasing pain but give me an injection of an anti inflammatory drug that did nothing for my pain and then had me pee in a cup. I don't even drink or smoke and found this to be humiliating He did not react when I told him my regular medication was not helping. I hope one day he experiences severe pain that is casually brushed off and left untreated. He is uncaring and unqualified to deal with the complexities of pain and should seek another profession that doesn't require him to deal with people. read more

Beware of this office!!!!!! Don't do it!!!!! Run the other way!!!! My mom and dad both have been going to see Dr. Razi for their pain issues for almost a year now. There is so many issues with this office, that I don't know where to start. Authorizations - there is at least 3 different times that they have dropped the ball in getting the authorizations from the insurance company for MRI's. While they are all nice - Vivian & Jennifer are always polite and courteous, the phones never get answered, you have to wait a long time for an appointment with Dr. Razi, and they really seem to not give a shit whether their patient is in excruciating pain or not. When I said to Jennifer "You guys seem like you couldn't care less if my mom is in excruciating pain or not." Her reply was "Of course we care, and all of our patients are in pain, we are a pain clinic. Your mom has her pain medication". No empathy, no apology for them "dropping the ball", NOTHING. I had to call and be a bitch and threaten to call the Medical Board before they got off their asses and started doing something to help THEIR patient. read more

Dr. Razi is punctual with his patients, always upbeat, does his job greatly with work comp patients. The staff is great and there to answer questions or solve issues. Surgery center is well maintained. I definately would refer other worker comp patients. read more

When I arrived for my appointment, the receptionist never made eye contact with me. She asked me for my name and then, asked me to take a seat. People were coming in and leaving. I had to ask if they had forgoten about me because I sat there for 40 minutes. After I inquired, I was asked to fill out this ridiculous multiple question form that was written in Spanish. I asked for one that was written in English. She returned with the proper paper work 15 minutes later. This paper work could have been taken care of if they had given it to me when I first arrived. Finally, after a 55 minute wait, I was called back by one of Dr. Razi's assistants. She asked me a bunch of questions, then she left. 20 minutes later, in comes Dr. Razi. He asked me the same questions, did a minor exam of my motor and sensory functions, then walked out of the room without telling that the appointment was over. At best, Dr. Razi's staff was not professional and Dr. Razi should work on his bed side manner. My experience with this doctor and his staff was bad and I would not recommend this doctor or his staff to any of my family or friends. read more
