They put in skylights. There are problems with those skylights, but the main problem is that they seem to leak. I have paid three times for this company to repair the leaks in my roof. The last time was the cheapest, just under $800 to replace the boots on the vents in the roof that they said were the actual cause of the problem. Then it rained a few days later and the roof leaked in places it had never leaked before. Sometimes I have had to call several times to get a response, and then weeks go by before someone actually comes out. Each person who comes out has a different idea about the leaks. They do not seem to talk to one another or to review the photos or other evidence other workers have collected. They do assure me that it's fixed and they do bill me. The billing is fast. I suspect someone calls when they have nothing else going. I realize this review makes me look gullible and stupid. That's my excuse. But the roof still leaks. read more

So I called Dr. Roof to come and install two cages over our roof vents which we had already purchased. Squirrels were accessing our attic through the roof vents. An appointment was set up for a week later and that morning, we get a call that the technician was ill and would come the following week. He showed up and was literally here for about 5 minutes and proceeded to tell us that he needed to order shingles and bring his crew and we would get an estimate the next day for the total cost of the work. My husband said to him "this is not going to cost me $2000 dollars is it?" and the guy looked at him in shock. Fast forward a week later and we have no estimate. I called yesterday and suddenly I have a bill for $250 for this technician's service fee to view the job (for 5 minutes!!!). When I call to ask about the estimate as this $250 will apply toward the job if I hire them, I am told that I do not get the estimate until I pay this $250. That was never mentioned to me on the initial call or by the technician when he was here. So I basically told them that I am not paying for this until I see the full estimate. I'm not stupid -- I know a pack of shingles costs between $35 to $45 and he's telling my husband he needs to come back with his crew? It's two small little vent covers which I've already purchased and they were not cheap?! I don't get this, but particularly the bait and switch tactic and nobody told me I had to pay to get my estimate. I fully expected to be upsold or told I would need a roof replacement because that is what these guys are in business for, but to withhold an estimate on a tiny job -- and I told them at the outset -- this is a small job and I don't know if you even do this type of job and the guy who answered the phone said he never heard of covers for the vents before -- so how experienced can these roofers be? I'm still waiting to see if I see the actual estimate and will share the amount for laughs and giggles because I'm sure they saw my house and figured they could charge me a fortune, but I'm a New Yorker and am very street smart so I don't get taken advantage of at all. read more

As a new home owner, especially in a rainy town, one of the last things you want is the roof over your head to start weeping. Well mine did, and boy was it a crybaby. I paid these jackasses over $20,000 for windows throughout my 3-story house and siding for one 3-story wall. When I noticed one window of 3 on the front of the house didn't match the others, I notified them immediately. They wanted me to pay for the replacement! WHAT??? I told them that's not how it works, & they said they'd be right on it. Well, it's been months now. The last time I complained, they told me it'd be installed "The first weekend in June." Today is the 26th...the FOURTH weekend. No show. One of my living room windows leaked, & badly damaged the wall below it. THAT'S not repaired yet, either. Every trades-person who finds out I contracted with Dr. Roof tells me, "Gee, I'm sorry." That's a tad bit disconcerting...But what did I know? I'm new to the area, & I've learned that contractors OF ALL SORTS in this area are HORRIBLE about responding to emails & calls. WTF??? The WORST part of this whole situation is the poor communication. Emails and calls to Clay are ignored for days and weeks, even when I threaten to seek legal counsel. I don't want it to require that, but I'm losing my shit over this!!! My sons say, "Shit, if they treat a $20,000-customer like shit, how do they treat $1,000-customers?" I strongly recommend avoiding Dr. Roof for any siding or roofing needs. The experience with them was extremely frustrating. Tim Inskeep was the person who I originally dealt with and who provided the estimate for the residing of my beach house. He talked a great game of a company who would be caring and attentive but unfortunately that was all talk. Clay Brasket was my project manager and was inept from the get go, confusing my project with another one, and it didn't get any better. I've been through building houses and remodels, etc. and I do understand things can happen, but dealing with Dr. Roof was such a negative experience I was inspired to write this review. We contracted with Dr. Roof last March for a new deck, windows, roofing and changing a garage door to an exterior door. Their outdoor work was good and they kindly worked around our schedule. Our problem is with their interior finish work. We had a short wall/door moved, bedroom door changed to a pocket door, new flooring, part of a lower kitchen cabinet removed. They removed the header board over the door, the inspector said it needs one because it's a load bearing wall. They charged us almost $1200 for their mistake. After several emails, they finally backed down. Their finish work left much to be desired. From floor moulding that doesn't line up (will need to be wood filled), chipped countertop, didn't put in the pocket door handle (left a bare wood hole), dents in the wall from putting in the flooring, no grout on part of the bathroom tiling, cracked our brand new vanity and added obvious screws to the side which they didn't fill, obvious holes in the countertop moulding not filled, door moulding not completely attached to frame (many gaps, needs more nails), construction debris left around the yard, little to no clean up after sheetrock work at the end of the day. Some people might say none of these are a big deal but for what they charge there should be much more attention paid to those details. They invoiced us the final payment but we asked them to fix these things first. They fixed 3 of the above items but that was it. We again emailed ,but no response. All in all, we would not hire this company again. Their project manager that left a few weeks before our job was "finished" was awesome. Great communicator, good follow through, the best part of the company. Too bad he is no longer there. We have emailed the company for reimbursement of our now added costs to fix all of their mistakes/oversights. Any effort on their part to reach a consensus/compromise with us would have been greatly appreciated, but they have no interest in that. We definitely do not recommend this company. read more

Sorry to say that we recently had a very disappointing experience with Dr Roof in Seaside, OR. We called Dr Roof on Monday, September 20 after noticing water intrusion issues that appeared to be coming through the roof or siding at our house in Manzanita during a recent rainstorm. They said that it was the busy time of year and may be a few days before someone called to schedule a time to identify the issue and repair. We received a call two days later and agreed to a time the following Monday afternoon (9/27). Monday arrived and we received a call that morning that the technician was on a major job elsewhere and would not be able to break away and we would need to reschedule for later in the week. On Wednesday (9/29), the technician called and apologized for not being able to make it on Monday and that he would be able to come to out house on Friday (10/1) morning after he got the crew going on another job. He said it would likely be around 10 or 11 and would call when he was on his way. On Friday at around noon, after not hearing from the technician, I sent a text to the technician asking him for an approximate time he would be at our house. He responded, saying he did not know what time he would be there, but it would be later that day, explaining that he had two workers not come in that day and he had to work on another job. It is now Saturday, 10/9. It has been over a week since that communication from the technician and we also have not heard anything since then from anybody at Dr Roof. It is certainly understandable that things come up unexpectedly and schedules may have to be adjusted. But it is extremely disappointing that the technician did not have the courtesy to call back and explain his not being able to make it to our house that day or to reschedule for another time. Furthermore, the fact that nobody from Dr Roof contacted us to explain or to reschedule is a clear indication to me that they do not care about our immediate need or keeping us as a customer of their company. read more

When sales person came and met with us we were filled with sparkling reviews and testimonials of how great there work was. Clearly not the case with us. Replaced doors, windows, and screens. Windows kind of done ok. Extra charges without our consent. Doors and screen doors not installed with any weather protection. Window frames not finished correctly. Very expensive and no follow up from them. Tried to contact them with concerns---always said the original install crew would be in touch. Now we'll have to redo most of their poor quality work. My recommendation is-find someone else. Run don't walk. read more

After a plumbing contractor flaked on us and never finished their contracted work, we were left with an old cut-off vent pipe open straight up to the sky in our master bathroom (not temporarily capped or anything) and needed someone to come right away and remove it so we could get it patched. The guys at Dr Roof (Rich and Joe in particular) were super responsive and out here within a couple of days and finished the job quickly, professionally, and with a smile. They were also highly communicative (too many contractors out there just leave you in the dark or wait weeks to get back to you on basic things) so we always knew what was up, what they were using, etc. Happy to recommend them and will use them again when we do the second stage of our remodel. read more

They removed the old shingles, applied plywood over the old skip sheathing, applied new flashing and a peak roof vent system....in a very timely fashion. I've paid Dr Roof over $4000 for a deposit for a new metal roof. It's been over 2 months, they took my payment but still have not put me on their schedule and given me a date for the work to be done. Every time I call them, they don't return my calls. They also don't return my insurance company's calls. Terrible customer service and now I guess I will have to file a better business bureau claim to get my money back. And I will have to hope that my roof lasts another coastal winter in the meantime. I should have given my business to another company and perhaps I'd have a roof already. read more

After calling several contractors who didn't return my call or keep their appointment to inspect my leaking roof, I called Doctor Roof. I got a real person on the phone and an inspection date for a week later. However, someone came two days later, inspected and repaired the same day. The leaking has been stopped. About two and a half years ago, we had Dr. Roof install a 650 square foot Trex Deck. They were fast, efficient and priced fairly. And, more importantly, they showed up when they said they would, worked efficiently and left us with a beautiful new deck. Recently, I watched their roofing crew install a new roof on my neighbor's house. I was impressed by the speed and work ethic of their crew. While there appeared to be a lot of camaraderie and laughter, their work ethic was exceptional, there was no dawdling or wasting time. I highly recommend them. read more

Sorry to say that Dr. Roof provides horrible customer service. I called Dr. Roof over three weeks ago to have someone stop by our vacation home in Gearhart and look at our roof to provide and opinion and estimate of some dry rot issues. I was told that Jay was the person that had experience with metal roofs and that he would be out in a couple of days to inspect the roof. Well....It took over three weeks to receive a returned call from Jay. I am sorry to say that he did not even get up on a ladder and inspect the possible dry rot area and how extensive it was. He went on to say that he could not complete the work anytime soon. Super bummed that I burned three weeks waiting for them to respond and now they are not interested in doing the work or even providing a real bid. GEEEZ - bad customer service. Looks like we'll have our roofer come from Portland and do the work. Save yourself the frustration, hire a more reliable roofing company. read more

Dr. Roof did and inspection on my roof for the couple that made an offer to purchase my home. The inspector 'Jay' said that my roof had OBVIOUS ROT and it would cost me $950.00 to tear up the roof and replace the shingles.....than in tiny print farther down on the page it said ''IF ROT IS FOUND'' it would be an additional cost! I know my roof is in very good condition so I call Dr. Roof and asked him how they determined that my roof had ''rot''? He said that the inspector is experienced and that he just knows!!! He also said that "Jay" told him that he just about fell thru the roof....that is when I fell off my chair laughing!!! I have people that I TRUST to take care of my home, so we went up on the roof and did our own inspection and found it to be in very good condition and very strong...and we did not fall thru the roof!!! I may be a senior citizen and female but I am not ignorant or helpless!!! They probably thought I would not know any better...well they were WRONG!!! I would NEVER let Dr.Roof do any work on my house....if you get stuck with them I would suggest you get a 2nd or 3rd opinion! Too many ''rip-off con artists running amuk''...it makes me sick!!! REMEMBER THE OLD ADAGE: IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT''!!! I wonder how many people had work done that was totally un-necessary???
