We have used this company twice. The first time was good. The second time a few days ago, was not as good. The response was quick and the work completed was satisfactory. However, the owner was not as upfront and informative as he shoud have been. We called to get a breaker replaced for the water heater. He sent a truck to our home with two service technicians. Long story short, he admitted that it was a one person job but since he had two techs in the truck he billed us for both. The bill was 750.00 to replace one breaker. When we complained, he said, "I'm sorry we are to expensive for you." If I was told that two technicians were coming and being billed as such, I would have called another company. You decide for yourself if this is fair business or not. read more

This is my second review for JJ electric. The first one was about six months ago and I am still totally satisfied with the results. Byron was the tech who did the work. For some reason, the Yelp app would not let me update that review directly which is why I am doing it here Izak did the work for the latest job on April 8th 2025. He did the troubleshooting on the garbage disposal not working. He found a faulty switch and receptacle and replaced things as should be. Just like the other tech he was focused, efficient, swift in the matter while being customer friendly as well. Thank you Isak!. Just as any other company JJ electric Service is a combination of the people who do the work per se and those managing the work. The two people with whom I connected were Richard and Jen. Just as their techs, they communicate well with the customers, and show transparency and honesty about what they can or cannot do. Electrical work is expensive yet the cost of both jobs shows that they are not taking advantage of their customers. Thank you. J&J did all of the electric work on my 118 year old remodel. They did an excellent job! After a year passed and some of the ceiling can lights were found to be defective, they returned and replaced all of them. They have integrity and stand by their work. Unbelievable! Showed up at our Seaside beach house on time and ready to work. Not operating on "beach time" like so many other "local" home repair contractors! From reading other reviews, this seems to be the way J&J Electric Service operates and I am confident when the job is finished, I will be pleased that I hired John's crew to do the job of removing the old knob and tube wiring and install a new meter base, weatherhead mast and electric panel. We will sleep better knowing the job is done right! The job was completed on time and Rich the electrician did an outstanding job. Cleaned up all residue and there were no surprises. Most recently for decommissioning some older wiring, and for the installation of reading lights with USB ports built-in next to the toggle switches, for convenience in a bedroom. We contracted with JJ Electric for our recent home addition. They turned out to be the best sub contractor we worked with during the 6 month remodel. Being an electrician myself it was hard to call one to do work in my garage that I am no longer able to do because of my age. John was very understanding and helpful. We shared some stories as we were both working in Alaska years ago at the same time and knew one of the state electrical inspectors. John sent a journeyman and an apprentice. UPDATE: JJ electric has moved back to Seaside as of April 2015 I worked with John on two separate jobs -- on my house and separately on my shop. This was at the coast, when he was working out of Seaside. Before that he worked in Alaska doing commercial jobs. His depth of experience really shows, and his work and professionalism are top notch. He showed me things he does that many electricians don't, like always using the screw terminals on switches and outlets -- especially important on the coast where corrosion can make those quick-connects fail. Generators are a big thing here too and he's known in the area as "the guy" for generator jobs. His prices are reasonable and he gets the job done without any fuss. My husband and I just moved into our house and discovered the wizards who previously did the electrical work had put all of the kitchen, living room, and master bathroom appliances on the same circuit. Josh came out and installed a new circuit, as well as adjusted the lights two light switches were connected to.
