I'm glad we got to finally try the tea here but the verdict isn't entirely favourable. Most importantly, I learned during our first visit that they charge more for a boba tea of equivalent size, topping, sweetness, and ice level than any tea shop we have been to in many other cities and states, including NYC, Queens, Virginia state, Georgia State, and the rest of the Capital District. In fact, within the Capital District, we pay $2.39 less PER TEA at another tea shop. The green tea is little different than what a large number of other similar shops have, which is a letdown. Their boba was above average because it was cooked just right and favoured well, although we do prefer large boba. Service is a tad too no-frills and left me wishing there was more friendliness, like the typical "have a nice day" as customers leave the shop or pick up their order. The music in a food joint usually isn't an issue for me but there was not one song that added to the experience of hanging out and it sounded like the speaker needed bass. They have several different tables and chairs and, although the comfort level differs based on where you sit, the sitting area has an overall nice feel to it. Although I'd be fairly hesitant to return, I hope they keep improving. read more

Came here with the family for some Korean waffle bubble cone ice cream and bubble tea. Parking lot was full but easily located on the side of the building. Upon walking in, we were the only customers. They had handy laminated menus showing various options, and I selected the Chocolate bubble waffle cone with Reese's Pieces PB craze ice cream, strawberry star jelly pieces, Oreo cookie crumbs, and whipped cream. I know, I know... it is gilding the lily. But, it wasn't like I eat here every day. My wife ordered her own boba tea and bubble cone ice cream. It took about 15 minutes to receive everything, as they only had one waffle machine up and running. But I wasn't in a hurry. It was neat to watch them make it, and despite the waffle maker spewing batter on the sides they kept it nice and clean so there were no flavor cross-contaminations. My item came out last and it was great. However, it was impossible to eat unless you held it at a 45-degree angle (otherwise, the star jelly pieces and cookie crumbs fell on the table... over and over). Also, the plastic spoon isn't the best weapon against really hard ice cream. But, I managed. And, I made a mess of the table. My wife's ice cream was definitely more Asian inspired (green tea bubble waffle, red bean paste, and strawberries) and it was okay. But nothing came close to the deliciousness of mine. I really liked the star shaped jelly pieces, which made me feel like a kid. If I were to order it again, though, I would bring my own bowl and dump it all in to eat out of. The prices aren't cheap, and we tipped well, but it was a date night adventure and not a routine destination. They give out free popcorn with every drink (awesome), and the staff were friendly. I could see coming back more often, but too much of this stuff will go straight to my dairy-iere. read more

A really cute cafe that fills the niche within Albany! Coming from the West Coast, I have been searching for a boba shop around the Capital Region. The only places I have found include Short and Stout and Crossgates. Dr. Milk is an aesthetic, newly-opened bubble tea and dessert shop off of Delaware Avenue. The shop itself is extremely clean and inviting, and the vibrant decor gives this place a pop. The menu items include fruit teas, smoothies, bubble waffles, cheesecakes, and ice cream. Each drink includes free popcorn/chips on the side, and each dessert comes with the tea-of-the-day. Prices are as expected of a bubble tea shop--tea being around $4-5, bubble waffles $9. There are outlets, and there is free Wi-Fi! I definitely will be coming back for a workday when I need a sweet pick-me-up! read more

You know what's one of the best smells in the world? The smell of baking waffle cone at an ice cream shop. And this is the exact smell that I walked into when I was looking for a new place to get my boba fix. The shop is extremely cute and well decorated, and I can see myself coming here with friends to get some drinks/dessert and to take IG-worthy pictures. I got the Rose Milk Tea, which was mildly flavored and not very tea-y; I think the next time I would just get a basic milk tea with 50% sugar. I prefer my milk teas super creamy and with a quality tea flavor, which is why this missed the 5th star. But the boba was soft and chewy! Their packaging is also very cute. I got a tiramisu cake for a midnight snack, and it was made really well: the syrup was just absorbed by the cake, and the cream was cool and refreshing. I wouldn't say that it was the most traditional tiramisu, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is wondering what type of cake to get. Unfortunately I was going into work when I stopped by and didn't have the time to wait for a puffle ice cream cone; I'm looking forward to trying it the next time I come back! read more

Good food - but disappointing hygienic standards and customer service. My boyfriend and I placed a GrubHub pickup order today, and stopped in a little early to wait for it to be ready. One of the employees called a customer over and handed them their order, which the customer took only to almost immediately realize it was the wrong order. In fact, the order they had been handed had been mine - but I didn't say anything because I figured they would have to remake it anyways and I would just wait. The customer had put their spoon into the ice-cream and licked it, and had been holding the order in their hands for multiple minutes. This wouldn't have bothered me. Mistakes happen, I used to work in food service and totally understand! But then the employee took the dessert back from the customer, and simply packaged it up for my GrubHub order without replacing the item. They scraped the ice cream out of the waffle and into a to-go container, with all the toppings getting tossed to the bottom. Then they packaged up the now soggy waffle, covered in messy streaks of ice cream. The food had been both touched by another customer and then also thrown sloppily into a container. Even having clearly seen that we were standing right there and saw the entire incident, the employee still just brought the order over and handed it to us. We didn't say anything, partially out of shock and partially so as to not make a scene in front of a busy restaurant of customers. I couldn't eat the ice cream because I was too grossed out by the idea of somebody else having touched it - especially with COVID-19 still going around. The other food and milk tea we ordered tasted good, but the whole experience tainted my perception and I won't be returning. read more

Their store hours are wrong. I arrived 20 minutes prior to store closure and they're already closed. This is unacceptable. If you change your hours, this should be promptly updated. I wasted valuable time coming all the out here for nothing. read more
