They also never asked me what the issue was that I was having and assumed very incorrectly about prior damage that had occurred more than a year prior. My computers worked perfectly after those spills because I was able to do a cleaning of them all those months ago. Their forced cleaning of my computers didn't resolve my issue at all because my actual issue was electrical issues we had been having in our home, and if they had asked me what problem I was having with them in the first place they would have known this and could have earned their money legitimately instead of scamming me for it. I ended up having to pay them $150 just to get my computers back with the same exact problem. The issue wasn't with them at all but was with the monitors. If they had spoken with me we could have figured this out before this unneeded cleaning service was forced upon me to pay for. I signed up for a free diagnostic and then he called to tell me I owe $69.99 per computer. What a scam! The front desk gentleman is very nice, but the actual repairman is a scammer. They also won't refund me the money! So now I have to buy new monitors which is more than $150 on top of the forced cleaning fees! Unbelievable! This is shady business and they shouldn't be allowed to keep scamming people. At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought this was only a misunderstanding, I reached out very kindly to explain all of this and ask for my money back. They only ignore me like I don't exist anymore. Of course, because he knows he scammed me!

Upon calling, I talked with Curt, who kindly assessed my problem and explained the data recovery process. I went to drop off my drive the same day. The location was somewhat difficult to find. Data Recovery is located inside the Clear Channel Building, the shiny tower just off the Montgomery Road exit on I-71. Their website said Suite 700, but upon arrival, the door placard read the name for HQ Global. In fact, it looked more like a law office than a place that salvages data. I walked through the big, glass doors and asked the receptionist where I could find the business. She said, "That's us! Are you dropping off?" I left my drive with her at the front desk, a post-it note attaching my name and info. I'll admit, I was a little nervous not getting to meet Curt face-to-face. It's always nice to know who is handling your sensitive information. The next day, I receive a call from Curt. He analyzed my drive and discovered the power board had been damaged. It was going to be replaced, then sent to the lab for data recovery. He quoted the process would take 5-7 business days. That was faster than I expected. The cost? $2,000. Ouch. OUCH! Having shopped around for companies, this seemed like the average rate for a damaged drive. Throughout the next week, I received updates from Curt about the status of my drive. It was sent to a lab for repair, but unfortunately, the data was unrecoverable. While I felt well-informed with the status updates from DRC, I didn't get my data back and have to give this place 2-stars.

Without reading the fine print I gave up my ability to contest charges. I was charged significant service charges before I was ever aware of the charges. When I demanded Ron invoice me before making charges to my credit card , I was told that Cherry Digital Services did not do business like that. I was sold and installed on my computer anti-virus software. After it was installed , I complained my computer had been hijacked by a "virus" . I was told by Ron, no one guarantees anything in this business. My advice is be very careful about using Cherry Digital Pros. They may be techically competent but I think there business policies are terrible. Do your due diligence .

I never received the confirmation call I was promised. The next day I was told I'd be contacted again -- no call. My appointment was rescheduled for Sunday morning, but no one ever arrived. I kept being told I'd get callbacks within an hour or within 24 hours, but none of them ever happened. I even visited the store twice hoping to finally get answers. Each time I was reassured that the issue was "expedited," yet no one followed up. I spent more than an hour on hold with customer service, and the escalation calls disconnected before I could even get a case number. It honestly felt like no department was taking responsibility or even noticing how much time I was losing. What's most disappointing is how disheartening the whole process has been. I tried to be patient and understanding, but it's hard not to feel overlooked when you keep doing everything right and still receive no help or communication. I truly hope Best Buy improves their delivery and communication process. No customer should feel this ignored or stuck chasing down answers for something they paid for in good faith.
