I was in the mood for some israeli fast food and I miss it so much back home so had to stop by and get some + people recommended this spot so had to try!!! The service: 0! Completely hostile environment, the staff did not look like they were happy to serve us, they were so rude and unwelcoming.. very disappointing :( Food: lacked flavour.. and not what I'm use to!! The falafel was not the greatest .. Im use to more parsley mixture The tchina had a wierd taste like it went sour .. so sad ! The fries were stale and not fresh at all. The eggplant was so oily tasted way too heavy for my stomach!!! The only good thing was the shawarma .. it was the only thing that tasted fresh and deelish. The chicken had fantastic seasoning, and the bread was to die for. They made the Lafa right then and there which was my line. The people that work there did seem a little bit like they hated us, but it was late and maybe they were just tired. It's your typical quick serve so there is some seating but it's nothing crazy. Attended 31082025 at the Bathurst Street location after seeing John Catucci's recommendation on "You Gotta Eat Here" show. I don't believe his recommendations. Utter disappointment. Very pricey. Dirty looking. A broken down office chair behind the counter. A hand sink in the customer seating area. Washroom was marked "out of order" but staffer said to use it. It was filthy. Toilet had no lid or flush handle. Seat was dirty. No hand towels. Service was adequate but I'll never return nor recommend this dump or any other Dr. Laffa. read more

I'm a certified laffa noob and had to try it for myself. The laffa itself is the dough of the show. This laffa is chewy, salty and super tasty. My friend actually ordered just the laffa bread. I had a bigger appetite and ordered the lamb and beef kabob laffa with everything on it. The kabob was nice, tasty but would be great with a bit more seasoning. Surprisingly I loved all the addons more than I did the kabob. The carrots were garlicy, well seasoned, and soft. The eggplant was also a fantastic addition. The addons are so good that I would order a veggie laffa if they had it. Eat this on a plate with a knife and fork. It's impossible to consume this laffa and not have your hands all oily. Drove from Richmond Hill, brought the kids only because i saw it on "you Got to eat here" once, but what a disappointment. $66 for 3 small shawarm and order of falafel. My lamb kabab was dry as cardboard, the falafel was overly fried, honestly no taste at all for anything. Never in million years again. Also they charge 3$ more for thier laffa, you go to places like Mr. Zagros everything os on laffa. Dont waste your time or money. read more

I was planing my sons bar mitzvah for an entire year and hoping everything would go right and it did except the food. That was served by dr laffa. My expectations were not met at all. The tables were empty - 10 people shared food that was served for 5. They served my guests samples size dishes but I was charged for a full dinner price. The guests told me there was no food. The laffa sandwich at the Bathurst place costs $3 more than the pita so silly me I expected a fresh laffa. We got chewy and cold laffas instead. My chicken in the sandwich was insufficient in quantity and quality and gave me am upset stomach. Place was empty which must have been a telltale sign that things are not right with this place. So we've had shawarmas and then we had their Laffa! For the uninitiated, laffa breads are freshly baked in-house and used for wrapping a ginormous roll for you! They also have the Option of a pita bread. The set menus with just the few options works well! The humble, friendly guy serving us explains the shawarma is best option! I'm particular about a nice grilled chicken slice so we wait while the chicken browns on the rotisserie. He dollops whatever preferences we have of sauce, vegetables etc. special mention to the fantastic simple carrot salad and those fried aubergines! I have never had that in my shawarma earlier. Delicious hummus and tahini with the spice sauce as needed! If you're dining in, they will give you a platter of all The salads and dips.. they totally spoil you but please, have someone to share the laffa! It's really humongous and more .. loved the freshness of the roll as it's very very important for me.. will be swinging by soon. I don't usually post in forums like this but I was in the Dr. Laffa (Bathurst and Lawrence) today and a homeless guy walked in. The staff went over to him, sat him down like a regular customer and brought him a three-course meal. I heard the staff talking and one of them was saying "he likes such and such a dish so make it nice for him". The staff treated him with respect and even asked if he had enough cigarettes. I asked how often this happens and they said that the owner feeds this man a full meal EVERY SINGLE DAY. Btw, THE FOOD WAS AWESOME!! read more

It pains me to give Dr. Laffa such a low rating but I have to be honest that this place has fallen in quality over the years. What pains me more is that the quality has dropped enough that I won't likely bother ever returning again, and this is after years of my patronage! The true highlight here is their Laffa bread. I don't know what kind of black magic they perform in the back but their Laffa is GREAT! I have tried to experiment with making my own and while I've learned to make good Laffa, it's not the same. The sad reality is that's where the greatness ends now at Dr. Laffa. Just about everything else here ranges from mediocre to bad. Their shawarma meat, which should be a highlight point is shockingly tasteless compared to just about any other place I've been to in Toronto. Their Hummus is ok but again, I've had better and this place SHOULD be making a point of serving up the best Hummus they can possibly make! If only out of pride! :P Lastly, they have become so famous within the local community that they have gained the power to raise their prices to a point that absolutely kills and justification I can muster to bother returning. We really wanted to try Dr Laffa after seeing it on You Gotta Eat here. I'm not sure if our poor experience is based on the day we went (weekday evening) but we had a poor experience. On first impression, the restaurant isn't exactly the cleanest, but in trying not to judge a book by its cover we still ordered. Of the 3 staff that we dealt with two were smug and rude but one man who packaged our order was very nice and made up for the other two's rudeness. The Laffa wrap on the show comes with fries added into it, this is emphasized as being the unique part of having a wrap at this restaurant. My husband was looking forward to this aspect and once our laffas were being assembled I asked about the fries. We were rudely advised by the owner (or who seems to be the boss) there were no more. We were a little disappointed but it was totally understandable if they had run out or whatever the circumstance were for saying no. As we were having our Laffas assembled and waiting for our hummus order (hummus wasn't flavourful at all, the worst I've had) another ordering Customer who seemed to be a regular also had a Laffa and started to have his assembled. Once he was told no fries he reacted and owner looked over to see who it was said "no problem! We will make for you". Didn't offer us any as we're still standing there, or even a substitute for what should've been included. Basically made us feel like our business was not important to them at all. Not the best first impression to make on new customers.... we definitely won't be back. Honestly it really sucks that i have to leave this place a 1 star because they have amazing food and great people working at the restaurent. I placed my pick up order at 9h30 went to pick it up and got home (I LIVE 30 M AWAY) to realise they got my sandwich all wrong. I called after closing time and this very rude lady answered the phone and told me that they we're closed and NOT TO EAT MY SANDWICH AND BRING IT BACK THE NEXT DAY FOR AN EXCHANGE!!!!!!! Was in the area the other day and remembered there was a Dr Laffa on Bathurst St. and had a good meal there before so thought I would stop in again for a bite. After some time trying to locate the restaurant at 3027 Bathurst I finally located them at 3519 Bathurst. I remember the staff at the other location was so cheery, explained the dishes, and made you feel right at home. This location is nothing like that and I was disappointed in the lack of selection of sides. Ordered up a shawarma laffa and was quite disappointed. The meat was so dry it was like chicken bacon and the guy putting together the wrap didn't seem to know what he was doing as he tucked the tin foil into the wrap making it impossible to eat without unwrapping the sandwich. As during Covid they are only doing take out I took my meal back to my car to eat only to discover there were no napkins in the bag Aaaarg! At over 15 bucks just for the laffa alone I didn't think it was a good value. Won't be going back to this location. read more

This is hand down the best shawarma joint in the city! I came on a weeknight around 6pm and there was a short wait but definitely worth it. The guys behind the counter are great and they really fill up the wraps to the brim. Chicken shawarma - juicy chicken with excellent seasoning and flavour. The mango sauce was unexpected but a great complement. Portions are huge and the service is quick and friendly. You definitely get your bang for your buck here. Just beware of smelling like your food, that'll take some time to air out but will leave you craving for more. read more

After reading so many reviews online, I decided to finally try it. For a store that was featured on Food Network, I had high hopes going in. As I go through the door, I'm confused on where to order. There was just a jumble of people crowded around the glass. After yelling over the crowd to the man behind the counter, my order was placed. Visually, I looked very appetizing. There was a lot of colour and ingredients going into it, so I was expecting an amazing circus of wonderful flavours. 2 decent sized sandwiches cost me a whopping 29 dollars. So now I was really expecting a real feast. 3 minutes later I got home, and overall, I was really disappointed. The flavours didn't go together. The chicken had a lack of texture and flavour. The falafel laffa makes me think being a vegetarian is a total OKAY. The salad you can put in are all amazingly seasoned and fresh. The laffa has the perfect balance of chewiness and softness. The falafel is the best thing that has happened to chickpeas. Portion is so big that my boyfriend and i halved it and still left very satisfied. The shawarmas here are massive and absolutely stuffed with a huge diversity of ingredients (hummus, cole slaw, pickles, pickled carrots, roasted eggplants) in addition to some extremely flavourful and juicy chicken. They come in a smaller size in a pita ($9) or the giant size in a laffa ($12). The shawarma joints downtown are a joke by comparison. read more

I have not been recently but a few times in the last few months. I do live nearby. Had the falafel laffa and chicken shawarma laffa. Unlike most kosher places I have been to, the food in this shop is wonderful and full of flavour. It knocks down most halal places in the quality department. Much better choice of toppings! Corn? Carrot? Yes, sir! The food here is so delicious that after one bite, you dtart hearing Barbra Streisand sing Jerusalem of Gold! That's how good it is. I will definitely.... goy back!!! read more

This place is great! One Chicken Shawarma Laffa is big enough to feed two people! There is so much going on in the Shawarma that I enjoyed every bite. You can ask to get some chips in your shawarma as well. That extra crunch is always good. Their roasted eggplant is just cooked right. I seriously enjoyed this shawarma, and this place is easily my favourite shawarma place in Toronto. AND the shawarma was stuffed with Chicken, which was cooked very well. It was moist and flavourful. It might seem a bit pricey (10.99 for a Chicken Shawarma Laffa) but it is very hard to finish 1/2 of one. I just had to write this review. Tonight was not the first time that they sent us an incorrect order. This time they sent the spicy shawarma with UberEats but not the non-spicy and my kids were starving! I ordered the extra shawarma as a second order and it took another hour and cost another $35 for food I had already paid for! Accommodating the notes on the order, such as "Please label the spicy shawarma" is an absolute certainty that they will ignore. But around half the time, they will omit your stuff too. Also the owner or the guy that runs the place always looks like he doesn't want to be there, never smiles and doesn't seem to like to build relationships with customers. OK, more of a 4.5 star review than a 5 star but here goes... I've only had the laffa shawarma here but it's great. I have a big appetite but there is no way I can finish a whole one - it's a little pricier than your typical shawarma. Tasty toppings, juicy meat, great sauces (you will want to freshen your breath after though)... however the laffa bread is super. Great texture to the laffa bread makes a huge difference. read more
