Having someone in your face with cigarette breath and chomping on gum is not a pleasant experience. Besides that, the clinic is very small and the glasses selection is very limited. Customer service was okay. I probably received the best service from the guy who adjusted my frames. I am disappointed because I actually enjoyed my service, but having to call multiple times and crossing your fingers they answer is terrible. During the pre-exam procedure, permission is asked for one particular test; cost approx. 30 dollars out of pocket. And even though I always decline, I appreciate the heads up. I started out as a patient with this clinic when their location was on Northern Lights Blvd., years ago. Then, it was rather like visiting someone's cozy home and provided the Alaskan memories of days gone by. Present day, Accurate Vision is more streamlined, and I'm not sure the word clinic jives up anymore, but no matter. Look for Urgent Care as a prompt to this place's building location which will be on your right while heading North on Minnesota Drive (toward downtown). Enter around the back of the building, and take the elevator which is just inside the door. Dr. Kyle Smith comes recommended in my book. He hasn't steered me wrong (as I have experienced with other eye doctors) thus providing thorough exams and correct prescriptions. His manner is upbeat, kind and professional. I am not too thrilled with the front desk service here, as there is an omnipresent thread of tension, and I don't know why. Also, the service provided with follow up texts after having set up an appointment, definitely needs some polish. I received 4 texts stating that I needed to fill out paperwork. Okay, but one method offered was to be done via a link, on my phone, which didn't work. I texted back that I prefer actual paper in person, and was given the response of yes, that will be fine when I come in. Come to find out, I didn't have to fill out any paperwork at all. (Alrighty then!) I came in for an eye exam 3 days before Christmas. This was not such a great idea on my part. I was burned out and so was the doc. (And most likely for entirely different reasons!) Having done some research, the cost for glasses here are definitely on the high side, so being able to take my script and go, is a big plus re: my budget. As much as I would love to try the glasses here, (and having insurance definitely helps) my wallet is still speaking otherwise! Having been to SO many eye clinics in my lifetime, Accurate Vision has been one of the best for me, if only because of Dr. Kyle Smith.

Lens crafters and the Opthalmology clinic associated within the same building (Dr. Craig Begin and…read moreAssociates) at the Diamond Mall location has dropped the ball a multitude of times on my account. They have the WORST ability to communicate within their team and the patients, in order to serve their patients/clients effectively. YOU, the patient/client, will have to be on top of it if you want anything to happen. The ophthalmologist did his job and was easy to speak with. The rest of the team is a disaster. The Opthalmology clinic's ability to convey messages (lack of), conduct follow up with its clients, and workout mishaps within its own staff for the betterment of the company or to improve relations with the client, is appalling. The lack of concern when misphaps do happen is off-putting, especially with repeated offenses. Service is disgustingly below par. Save yourself the trouble. My experience is listed below: The front desk (who poorly listens to  concerns or it wouldn't be repeated several times) was supposed to call me when my trial contacts came in, but weeks go by, no call, and I am the one who has to call to see the status...she said oh yeh, they're here. Well, everyone makes mistakes so I understand, but this continues the ENTIRE TIME in the span of 3 months! I then schedule another appointment to try a different pair of trials because the first ones did not work for me. Scheduling with the front desk can be irritating because she is regularly confused regarding what the appointment is for and what types of trials. After trying these, I call and inform them that instead of another follow up visit, I'd like  to order a years worth of contacts since I've had this brand before. Apparently, whoever took messages while others were at lunch, did not convey this with the person who orders the contacts. This was Sept/November. I wait 2 days shy of 3 WEEKS to ask the status and NOPE, no contacts...the lady (Chelsea) said she wasn't even made aware. So we resolve this by me ordering contacts with her, who said she was the person who orders contacts and they would CALL me if there was a problem. Weeks go by and it is now Dec 26 and NO CALL, so I call them. No one I spoke to saw paperwork that indicates my order and I would have to wait until that person comes back to the office. I call again and the front desk answers saying my trials are in...I'm very irritated at this point because if she had even looked at the chart, she'd know I don't need trials because I already had my trial appointments to try contacts in september, but no, they don't research any of this or speak to each other to sort this out. NO ONE even apologizes for any of this. I ask to speak to the one who "ordered" my contacts only to find that she doesn't order my year's worth but that it is the "lenscrafters" side that does this...ALL THIS TIME...almost 2 months of back and forth and waiting....no one clarifies this process. After speaking to the Opthalmology side for the 3rd time (Repeating myself with the same request to the same people who don't take the time to understand or be thorough), Lenscrafters finally calls me and says they will MAIL me my contacts. This was the most burdensome way to purchase contacts, something that should have been relatively easy turned into a convuluted mess. Disorganization and lack of effective communication contributing to this mess. The impression they leave is, "It's not my problem, but here's your bill" Save yourself the trouble.
