The first time I came here I had a referral to see Dr. Tran who then referred me to a different specialist. When I was having a similar issue as before and needed to update my prescription I booked an appointment for Dr. Tran because the specialist had since retired. When I went to my appointment I did not get Dr. Tran and instead got a different Dr who was not only dismissive of my concerns, but also patronizing toward me. I came here for some computer glasses. Upon arrival I was immediately greeted. I showed the front desk staff my insurance and prescription. I just turned 45 and have been using cheaters since I turned 40. It was time for me to face the harsh reality that I need actual glasses, like full time. The only problem, I don't like the way I look in glasses. I got an eye exam last month and Dr. Tram was great. I got too overwhelmed when trying to pick out frames and left empty handed. Went back yesterday to try again. Dr. Tram saw me struggling and came to offer a helping hand while in between appointments. I was a tough customer as I was dealing with my own identity crisis. She did what she could, sometimes having to tell me what I didn't want to hear. She then passed me off to Linda to get ready for her next appointment. Linda was gentle and patient and kind as I struggled with owning any of the looks we tried together but we finally did find a pair that I disliked the least. I'm not terribly fond of having this new apparatus on my face but I am fond of the compassionate customer care I received at Nova. read more

Dr. Tran is awesome! Her staff and customer service are delightful. She's been my doctor since before the new building and she consistently takes excellent care of me and my family. April of 2020 I had my eye exam done by Dr. Tran, I had never been treated so badly by an eye Doctor. She was condescending and down right mean. I was nervous, it was the first time I had been out in public due to Covid, and I know I was chatty. After an exam she informed me I had Age Related Macular Degeneration. Well you can just imagine how scary that was for me. All she did was hand me pamphlets and sold me some very expensive vitamins. What was so bad about this experience is, I had been a patient of theirs for over 18 years. Today I found out I do not have Macular Degeneration. I had an extensive eye exam, the best I have had in 10 years. And I was treated just wonderful. He spent an hour with me answering all my questions, and reassuring me. Thank you to Wolf Eye Care and Dr. Anderson! I will not set foot in Nova Eyecare Center again. I went through a year thinking I was loosing my eyesight. And on top of that they have not sent my records to Wolf Eye Care and it has been a month since my request. By the way Nova check your Facebook page lots of spelling errors! read more

I went to several Optical stores looking for different frames to replace my broken ones. I walked into Nova and was immediately greeted by an extremely welcoming, helpful staff. There was no pressure and for a smaller showroom, I was surprised at the variety of frames on display. There was even a sale display that had a variety of high end frames for 50-75% off. The staff was more than helpful taking insurance info and willing to save a second pair of frames for several months so that I could take advantage of an insurance deductible in the future. I don't normally take the time to write Yelp reviews but I did think it was worth my time sharing my experience with Nova. I had to return to their office several times with help fitting a frame that had arms too short for comfort. Nova, at their expense, exchanged frames and had new lens made. I enjoyed meeting the owner Dr. Tran and will come back to Nova when I need my next exam. I can't explain the 2 poor reviews I read concerning Nova but my experience was positive and would refer a friend in need of glasses. read more

I absolutely love their cute little zen, boutique style eye care center. Tiffany is absolutely wonderful with answering questions about eyeglasses and they have a wonderful selection and accept a wide variety of insurance. They have gorgeous designer frames like Jimmy Choo, Tiffany & Co, Kate Spade etc. They are comparatively priced with other places in the area as well. I went to LensCrafters first one day while in the mall but learned they didn't accept VSP vision insurance. Nova Eyecare does and they even had the Tiffany frames I was in love with at Lenscrafters for the same price for the frames. Dr Tran is a very kind woman who will be straightforward with you on what you need and what you don't. With all due respect, you can't show up a minute before a business closes just to "look" and expect these people to not be ready to go home for the day. They have lives and kids too they want to get home to. I would have come back during business hours or called first. No one is ever excited to stay past business hours, especially for someone just window shopping. I called first to see if they had the glasses I wanted and for their hours. I saw they sold Nike and Nike Flexon Kids glasses so I asked about some for my five year old son. I brought him in and they didn't have any that fit his face (they are all too big) so Miss Tiffany took it upon herself to order more frames in colors my five year old specifically asked for in the Nike brand for him to try on. She called about three days later to inform us they were in and my son immediately fell in love with a sturdy pair of black and green just like he asked for. These people are awesome! At first the staff was kind and welcoming. First they started saying we never sent the insurance through email, when we actually did 3 times. After that they were very condescending and rude. The nurse didn't want to listen to what i had to say. I have major diagnosed anxiety and when they went to take pictures of my corneas they didn't listen too me and when I started to freak out they were saying I'm being dramatic and overreacting. They gave me a unwanted test without telling me what it was and charged me without telling me they were for the pictures. After they look at my eyes and such they were saying we'll print the prescription but i was actually going to get glasses there and when i said I'll get glasses there they didn't listen and went on to say my insurance doesn't cover it when it does and they went to look again and boom I was right. I then I got my prescription and left now I am getting my glasses at a place that's much more nice and didn't make me feel poor and unwanted read more

The experience here was a good start.. staff seemed friendly, was a pleasant office space, and Dr. Tran seemed nice. But in the 40 years of annual vision exams, I've never left feeling like I was a problem patient or accused of trying to mooch free contacts. The doctors I've worked with before were more than willing to work with you to find the proper fit and prescription. Yes, this wasn't a cut and dry appointment as I had vision changes and was looking to try multifocal lenses which I'd never tried before. I was not getting good results from the samples given. Instead of being able to talk with the doctor about it or what to do, it was a difficult process of talking to staff who would talk to the doctor and call you back. Or put you on extensive holds while they talked to the doctor. I still wasn't getting good results after picking up the 2nd set of trials. I was informed that i would need to return for a new exam (my Initial exam was a week and a half ago) for an extra charge and purchase a month supply if I wanted to try a different one. Again, my initial appointment was only a week and a half ago and I was only given enough intacts for this week and a half ..and this was also after they charged my insurance and I paid an additional $120 for the exam. I was left with no contacts and sent my old prescription updated to something that may or may not work and a record of what a problem patient I was and how I "called them for "weeks" asking for more and more contacts and how they gave me "many many pairs". read more

I felt very rushed and blown off. As a new patient DR Rosalias was not at all interested in making me feel comfortable. He belittled and talked down to me the entire time. Then Half way through the exam I had to mention "you are going faster than my eyes are adjusting". After telling someone they are going too fast how much more into detail do I need to go? And his response was "tell me how slow I need to go". Not one single person in the clinic was willing to help. After my "exam" the DR asked me If I wanted to purchase eyeglasses From them. I walked around the front room for over 20 minutes (yes I timed it because I was ALREADY UNCOMFORTABLE) and without anyone coming to help me or recommend anything I took my prescription and left. THE ENTIRE OFFICE ACTED AS IF I WAS A BURDON TO BRING MY BUISNESS TO THEM. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL. AND I FEEL SORRY FOR ANYONE ELSE THAT FELT THIS WAY WHEN LEAVING THIS ESTABLISHMENT. read more

I have seen Dr. Tran for many years and still to this day think my eye doc is the absolute best! As a provider she genuinely wants the best for her patients. It is clear by the way she truly listens to concerns then talks with you in a realistic manner, like a person rather than just another patient. I arrived at Nova Eye Care Center at 1:59pm yesterday with my mother and then an employee advised us they close at 2:00pm. We told her that we were just checking if they had the same glasses my sister in law does as she is a client of Nova's. The employee took us to the women's frames and at 2:01pm another employee came rushing from the back and turned off all the lights. The employees were silent, waiting for us to leave. I've never felt so rushed out of a store in my life. We went to Alaska Eye Care downtown and were treated with respect. I'm so happy my mother found some glasses she liked, because I would hate to return and do business with a company that obviously doesn't care to have it. I wish I could rate Nova with stars in the negatives, because there was nothing positive about my experience. Rude and unprofessional. read more
