The staff was very friendly and courteous, especially Richelle (I think?). One small thing I appreciated was the text message reminders of my upcoming appointment; I thought that was nice. I was very impressed with Dr. Rob. He obviously knows what he is doing, and his clinic employs a lot of modern equipment not available when I did my last eye exam. He really took the time to explain how the eye ages and what to expect as I get older. I had a very positive experience. What a great team!

Having someone in your face with cigarette breath and chomping on gum is not a pleasant experience. Besides that, the clinic is very small and the glasses selection is very limited. Customer service was okay. I probably received the best service from the guy who adjusted my frames. Skip this place and find another eye clinic in Eagle River, or go somewhere in Anchorage if you can.

I got a new prescription and couldn't decide whether to just get new lenses or new frames, instead I ended up getting both. Prescription accuracy seems ok, I went in because I thought my prescription changed, which turned…read moreout it didn't, he told me it was because I wasn't using my bifocals (since I had gotten progressive bifocals and they don't usually work) and he showed me the strength of bifocals I would need which seemed incorrect but I didn't say anything because I figured he knew what I needed. I decided to buy some reading glasses in the strength I was prescribed to try it out and I can't see though them, I think they're too strong because I get a huge headache and end up holding what I'm reading only a couple inches from my face, closer to my face than without them. In my opinion he could work on his communication skills, I had a abnormal test result on the puff test and I needed to come back in for a couple more tests, most of the time he'd gesture to something and I wouldn't know what he'd want me to do and he'd sorta ridicule me as if I should know better, most of our conversations were "look here!" "no you're suppose to be looking over there!" "You're suppose to be keeping your eyes shut" "Why are your eyes still closed?" It seemed as thought he was always giving me incorrect instructions or expecting me to read his mind. When I went to my appointment I did not get Dr. Tran and instead got a different Dr who was not only dismissive of my concerns, but also patronizing toward me.
