Thanks to his expertise and care, my kidneys are now stable, my weight is 233 pounds, and my A1C is 5.7. His professionalism, compassion, and dedication gave me a second lease on life, and his staff in Pembroke Pines and Davie have been equally remarkable. I will always be grateful.

It's a shame his staff is so poorly mannered because he is an intelligent and caring practitioner…read more His staff is the ONLY reason I'm changing providers. Also it's unethical to overbook future appointments to where the patient is unable to receive their medication due to the office not having any appointments for the next 3-4 months. Is it ok for diabetic person to go without their insulin because they can't get their endocrinologist to refill their prescription due to overbooking and not being able to speak with the Dr? NO. IT'S NOT SAFE OR APPROPRIATE to make a patient go without their daily medication due to overbooked appointments, despite myself and pharmacist calling this office. The same regard should be taken for all of those that suffer from autoimmune diseases. That is a liability and borderline negligence. Terribly unprofessional and unhelpful staff on top of that matter would make anyone look into reporting this situation to the appropriate governing bodies. ***Edit: I would like to amend my original review with the fact that this office called me within 3 hours of submitting the original post/review. It's unfortunate that a negative review is what ilicits results. I would like to stress that Dr. Villa Franca is an EXCELLENT physician. However he's so good you can't get an appointment unless you don't mind waiting 3-4 months off from when you initially call. Not sure about you all, but I don't like to "sit" on health problems and don't like feeling sick. So waiting that long for an appointment with him is not ok with me. I will commend 1 person in particular from their office that took this matter very seriously and performed very professional conflict resolution via telephone. Thus, why I changed my review from 1 star to 3. All I can say is be an educated consumer and medically advocate for yourself.

Honestly one of the best doctors and practices I have ever dealt with. For starters, this is a…read moresmall practice, and they take the time to get to know their patients. As the office is small, they don't schedule a lot of patients at once, so the wait times are virtually non-existent. My family has seen him for years and he has been able to help us with all sorts of issues, yet he's not resistant to move you to a specialist if it is outside his experience/expertise. Highly recommend for anyone that needs an exceptional doctor.

My family have been patients of Dr. Rosen's for over 20 years…read more Coming from a medical family (both my parents were MDs, my best friend was an MD, my brother and son are both paramedics) I am very picky about which doctors we see. Not all doctors are alike- especially these days! Dr. Rosen has specialty training in internal medicine, pediatrics, and geriatrics. He has taken care of our family from the time our youngest was 2 years-old, and of my husband and myself from our 40s into our 60s. We came to him when our youngest was 2 years old. We had previously been using Pediatric Associates. Every visit was with a different doctor. Our daughter was in pre-school and was getting frequent colds and earaches, the doctors we were seeing wanted to put her on penicillin each time. I did not want her on antibiotics for a viral infection. Then I found Dr. Rosen. We used Tylenol and a heating pad to manage discomfort and got her through the next earache without antibiotics - she NEVER had another earache! She has only needed antibiotics twice in the last 20 years. I have Hashimoto's hypothyroidism. I had been prescribed Synthroid by my endocrinologist for years. I was taking the highest dose of anyone in my family, yet I still had symptoms: tired, cold, carpal tunnel, etc. In my late 30's I was prescribed Cytomel by a retired doctor friend of the family and was doing very well on that until he passed away and I couldn't get refills. I then went to the head of Endocrinology at the Cleveland Clinic, Weston. He took me off Cytomel and put me back on Synthroid- I ended up so miserable, exhausted, and freezing cold that I spent my lunch hour sleeping in my car with the A/C off - during the South Florida summer! So, I went to Dr. Rosen, who was already seeing my kids. Dr. Rosen worked with me to find a better alternative. He put me on Armour thyroid. I have been stable on a moderate dose about 10 years. These are just two examples of many I could relate. Bottom line: Dr Rosen takes the time to TALK to his patients. And he LISTENS. That is a rare thing to find in our medical system today. I feel so grateful to have a physician who practices medicine the way it should be practiced: he takes time to listen to his patients, he knows their history, he makes a diagnosis, and he uses his skills and experience to find the best solution to health issues. He is not following some rote protocol established by the FDA or a big medical corporation.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after more than a year of trying to resolve this issue, I feel other parents should know about my experience. I brought my son in for his school-required annual physical. During the exam, the doctor mentioned he might have a slight scoliosis and recommended an X-ray. A few days later, we received a voicemail saying it was very minor and that no treatment or follow-up was needed. Despite this, Pediatric Associates billed my insurance for a separate Level 4 office visit, leaving me responsible for over $300. My son had no symptoms, no complaints, and ultimately needed no treatment. I have repeatedly asked for an explanation of how this justified a separate high-level office visit, but after more than a year and at least five phone calls, no one has ever called me back. I was also told my son was "missing vaccines," but I was never informed that the HPV vaccine is not required for Florida school, nor was I told it might not be covered by insurance and could cost hundreds of dollars. Had I known, I would have made that decision at another time. Parents trust their pediatrician's recommendations. Unfortunately, my experience has left me questioning both the billing practices and the communication at this office. If this matter is not resolved, I will be filing formal complaints with my insurance company and the appropriate Florida regulatory agencies.
