i am sad to give dr. tuong 1 star because he is a kindly old man....however, he has no business practicing medicine with his current office in the state it is. i was randomly assigned dr. tuong through my blue cross hmo and have unfortunately been forced to visit his office about a dozen times this year due to a broken leg.
all his instruments and equipment are ancient and look pretty dirty. the files for his patients are in perilous mountains all over the place, even in the waiting room. the staff is so unprofessional its crazy. i went in there a day after i broke my leg (in a soft splint, pre cast) because it was the only way i could get a referral to an ortho specialist for an emergency surgery, and the receptionist was not only rude when speaking to me, but she actually kicked my broken leg twice, yes twice, when bringing me papers to sign...un-f*%king believable!
to dr. tuong's credit, however, he was really efficient in that emergency situation with getting me set up in surgery asap, and i was even able to reach him on a sunday night when i ran out of pain meds post surgery and was in excruciating pain. (i guess the phone line also doubles as his home number? perhaps thats why the "receptionist" sometimes answers the phone "hello...."?)
recently, i went in for a referral for some non emergency routine health stuff, and unfortunately i could not understand most of what the dr. was saying (i think it was mutual), and left with only 1 of the 3 referrals i needed due to the language barrier. i am finally now switching primary care physicians...the un-hygenic, disorganized, unprofessional state of the office is just not acceptable...but honestly, i think dr. tuong is a sweet old man who is just a bit out of touch with the modern world and unfortunately, has a crappy staff. read more
