This is the worst dentistry I have ever been. I do not normally write reviews but I think this deserves one. I went for teeth cleaning. I was done in literally 5 mins. I normally brush for longer. The point is that they did a pretty bad job, my gums were bleeding and not much plaque has been removed. You only need to enter in the reception and you immediately get a negative feeling, something is not right. read more

One of the worst dental experiences of my life. While the secretary and technician were both very kind and competent, the office was cramped and in disrepair. I was willing to give it a chance though because they got me in quickly and seemed nice enough. However, the dentist (Dr. Yegorov) was judgemental of my flossing habits and the fact that I hadn't been to a dentist in three years (without ever asking why that happened - I'm a graduate student with limited time, high stress, and have dental anxiety so I kept putting it off. Bad, I know, but it is what it is). She did my cleaning, which was uncomfortable (I also got judged for that, apparently that was my fault too), looked at my x-rays, and then counted up next to me how many fillings I needed (ten) and warned me that one might be a root canal but they wouldn't know until they opened it up - if the x-rays were done properly I don't see how a root canal could be a maybe. She triple checked with me before this that I had insurance, so it felt like she was just counting up how much money she could make off of me. After getting this horrible news I really didn't want to stay any longer so I asked for them to skip polishing my teeth and was told "no." That was the end for me, I will never go somewhere that I'm not in control of my dental treatment. What's more, I told them that I wanted my x-rays sent to me so that I could seek a second opinion. I received them the next day, but all seven shots were crammed into one image, so the quality was too poor for anyone to interpret them with any confidence. I had to ask three times for the images to be sent as individual files, and when they were finally sent the files were all unreadable. I asked twice more that they try again, my new dentist asked for the raw files, and neither of us got anything. I ended up just paying for new x-rays at a different practice, where I was also treated with kindness and respect. Oh - and it turns out I only have four teeth in need of immediate fillings, not ten. Stay away from this place if you're anxious or if you have good insurance. read more

My insurance allows full xrays once every three years. I wish I hadn't wasted my xrays at Dr Dental, as their equipment is extremely out of date. Both the oral surgeon they referred me to and my new dentist were shocked by the quality (most places use digital xrays now) and I had to pay for new xrays as the ones I had were not usable. The receptionists are also not very helpful. I had to call and email several times to get my xrays released to the oral surgeon in the weeks leading up to my appointment, and I was promised that they would be sent. First off I would like to say, if I could give this place 0 stars I would. Unfortunately it doesn't let me do that. I have NEVER had such horrible care in my life. I went back in January after being out of the country for a few years and not being able to go to the dentist for 2 years. I was about 4 months pregnant. My Dr., also a pregnant, was extremely rude. She said to me in a rude and sarcastic manner "I'm guessing you're not getting X-rays considering you're pregnant" I said yes and she proceeded to check my teeth. She looked around for about 3 mins max got up and said "looks good, the dentist aide will clean your teeth." The cleaning was AWFUL. Now, I had been feeling tooth pain for a while and was waiting for her to tell me I had a cavity, I also had my wisdom tooth pointing out, which she didn't even comment on. I decided that I would not go back there. Now just two days ago I went to another dentist ( fresh pond dental ) and the service was amazing. My dr. Was very nice. What she found was shocking though, apparently I need to get my wisdom teeth out soon, because they could cause future problems, I have 8 cavities that are visible without X-rays. And last but not least, I need a root canal done. WOW, how did the last dentist not see any of this? Granted the wisdom teeth and tooth canal could only be noticed with the X-rays, but the other 8 cavities? Now what upsets me most is that of she had paid more attention at my last visit I would not have to pay for these procedures. I have mass health and they only cover fillings up until 20 years old. I turned 21 months just 1 month after visiting this awful place. Now I'll have to pay out of pocket around 4 k to get my teeth fixed. I have an infant and work to make 8 dollars an hour.... I am very upset and am looking into a lawyer. I'm not a bad person and I do not deserve this. I don't wish this on anyone, and would just like to prevent this. I wouldn't trust this dentist for anything. It was by far the worst teeth cleaning appointment I've ever had. Perhaps 3 minutes in total. Just a quick polish, no flossing, no scraping. The dentist came in and said I had some cavities and would have walked out without any further explanation except I started to ask questions. Then she was a bit better, but overall it felt like an assembly line. They want you in, out and back again. No personal touch at all and I felt the quality was low. I went here for the first time and oh what an experience this was! I bought the deal online through groupon or one of those sites it was just for a cleaning. I walked in and the girl at the desk wasn't friendly or rude, just kind of blah... like she was tired or didn't feel like working. I filled out a bunch of forms and then the dental assistant called me in. She was very pleasant did my xrays and got me ready for dr. vahidnia. I waited for about a half an hour for him, the assistant popped in to let me know he was almost done. They clearly knew he was running VERY late and I was starting to get annoyed. He finally came in and was very cold right off the bat. He said very few words and just dug right in. This was by far the most painful cleaning I have ever had! He was extremly rough I was almost in tears. It was so painful I was cleanching my hands almost ready to get up and run out. I have had many many cleanings but none ever like this. He seemed aggrivated almost like annoyed that he had to do my cleaning lol maybe because I got a deal???? Anyways I had him stop a few times and finanlly told him to ease up a little, he was very annoyed everytime I had to take a break.... which was 2 or 2 times. When he was done he looked at me and said "you have a cavity in the back and my assistant will polish your teeth". Then he walked out. I was so shocked, confused, and in pain... still in pain actually. I asked his assistant is thats his normal behavior and she kinda smoothed over the situation. I was clearly upset she asked if I was ok and I asked her to just finish up. She was very sweet, I think she knows he's rude and rough but it's her job and not her place to really say anything. So I will never go back there again, he was a dentist from hell... the kind you have nightmares about. I have never complained about a service or even wrote a review on yelp. Don't go!!!! You'll regret!!!! 2.5 hr waiting for the 2min X-ray and 3min teeth cleaning!! However, nothing got cleaned at all!! Hey I was there for my teeth cleaning not for watching TV! The doctor just want you to get your wisdom teeth out. I'm very fortunate to not have done that~Other wise I'll regret more. If you are ok waiting EVERYTIME YOU WENT in the dentist chair for 30-40 minutes and then Dr. Lee doing a rush job (and I mean not gentle) as if he is a cab driver in Downtown Boston, then this is the place for you, otherwise STAY AWAY. I guess the problem is they feel they can get away with sloppy service, no courtsey and an average job becuase the practise is in a commuter city (students come and go). I have been dealing with dental problems since I was a kid . I have experienced different procedures and different doctors. I have had a chance to be a patient of not so good dentists and payed little money to really great professionals and great service for a lot of money. Last time I had fixed everything i needed in another country. But unexpectedly a dental emergency happened and I had to look for someone immediately here, in Cambridge/Somerville area. Everyone would turn me down and would say "you have to be a patient here first" or "we have no openings" . But Dr. Dental took me from the minute I walked in without prior notice. The staff at the front desk was super friendly and very helpful. Dr Natasha Yegorov spent over two hours on A Monday to fix my tooth and was dedicated to what she was doing until the tooth was permanently fixed couple appointments later. Though I have only been a patient for a year, my teeth have given me the opportunity to visit Dr. Vahidnia's office at least 10 times. One can imagine that despite the short time period, my experience has allowed me to get to know the dentist and his staff quite well. With this in mind, I want to say that Dr. Vahidnia is honestly the best dentist I have ever had. The doctor visibly has a lot of experience and patiently takes the time to think through all of the options before he makes an medical decision, something that is quite rare in dentistry, at least according to my own observations. He also patiently answers all of my questions, which are many as I am very curious about the procedures I am undergoing. Moreover, I feel that the doctor cares a lot about making the experience a positive one, and this is so important. All of the staff I have seen during this time has also been extremely kind and helpful, giving me many helpful pointers on oral hygiene and being sensitive to my sensitive teeth!
