I've always loved their flavors. Super creamy and amazing flavors, also not too sweet. read more

Dr. Davis Ice Cream - Coffee oreo - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Pepperell, Massachusetts

Amazing flavors; great banana split, At a very reasonable price.,love butter rum, peppermint stick and the rest.

The ice cream is great and the college kids working there are always so pleasant and hard working! The flavors available are kind of hit or miss, but it is the kind of local place that your kids will remember their whole lives. read more

The best hot fudge and wonderful ice cream flavors! They always have good staff- hard working teens!

Amazing ice cream & sundaes Friendly service. A Family favorite weekend trip. GREAT ice cream flavors

A decent place to get decent ice cream. It's nothing extraordinary, but I'm not too much of an ice cream person anyway. But it's a nice place. The seating arrangments outside could be a bit better but they suffice. The staff are all very friendly and I've never had a problem with any of them. read more

I like Dr Davis Ice cream. It's nice and close. You don't have to leave Pepperell, which is great! The college kids that work there are great too. However, they aren't always open, during the season. And they run out of cones etc. I guess you have to expect that will a small place? But it's disappointing and they also don't always have a dairy free option. read more

Great ice cream, favorites are blueberry and French vanilla chip! A little shabby but get over that!

Ice cream was good, just not super flavorful. I had pistachio and my sis had butter crunch w/o many crunches.

Huge(!) ice cream! Yes, it's pretty good as well. I had the ice cream cookie sandwich, which had a ton of delicious and creamy ice cream inside 2 very good, but too small home made cookies. I haven't enjoyed ice cream this much in a while :) Note that they are only open in summertime read more

Unfortunately I have to give 3 stars, not due to quality or taste, but misinformation. It is really frustrating to try and figure out if you're open because Yelp and Google Maps say open 12-9, but your website says closed for the season. Tried to call & got no answer (twice) so i'm assuming closed, but I really don't know for sure unless I waste my time to drive there. Please update your seasonal hours to reflect across ALL platforms. This icecream is great but as a business, please take care of your communication about your business hours of operation. read more

The ice cream is the best They should be open all year round and it's very local I get it every day in the summer

Yum delicious ice cream! Cute small ice cream parlor where you order inside. They have a table inside or picnic tables outside. I got the strawberry frozen yogurt and it has chunks of strawberries in it! Line was not super long on a Sunday evening and plenty of people working. Not the friendliest staff but I would come back for the ice cream! read more

Took my niece and nephew here last night. Great local place. I drive by it every day on my way home, and I tell myself "I have to stop by there some day this summer". Well I've been saying that for like 2 summers now and it was time to finally do it! I had to watch my brother's kids last night - it was the first day of fall, but it was a nice warm day. I saw my opportunity and I took it! We were there around 7:30 PM - the place is open until 9! Not busy but a steady stream of people coming in and heading out. They let you test the ice cream - each of the kids tried their M&M ice cream, and really liked it. They got giant waffle cones that had way too much ice cream in them for a small (that's a good thing). I got a waffle cone of moose tracks. It was all right - not like over the moon but you know, good. They make it all in house, and the kids liked it a lot. We sat outside under that giant goofy umbrella thing. The kids had a great time. They really liked it. read more

Dr. Davis Ice Cream - Pretty good!! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Pepperell, Massachusetts

Doc Davis is an old fashion New England ice cream stand. We used to bicycle there after work 15 years ago. It was so hot today, we decided to take the car this time. It looked like they had around 30 different flavors of ice cream and frozen yogurt. You buy your ice cream and then go sit outside on picnic tables under two giant umbrellas. The ice cream is really good here, rich and flavorful. Doc's is perfect for all ages, especially young children. read more

If you are looking for a creamy, non icy confection you should try this place, my favorite in the northern Mass, southern NH area.

So, I had passed by this joint on occasion, and was rather intriqued by the name. Turns out Dr. Davis was a local vet who was fond of making ice cream using cream from his dairy cows. That hobby turned into a business, and 60 years later, there's still a stand. They make all their own flavors, and homemade sugar cones, which has stolen Sweetie's heart away. They also make real Lime Rickeys, which stole my heart away. read more

I recommend the doc special i really like the options of ice cream their is a lot of variety

Doc Davis has some good ice cream. I came here a lot as a kid, and I've been back a few times in the past couple years. Still good. Their banana ice cream is wicked awesome, and so is the bubble gum. read more

This is the best quality, fresh, homemade (right there at the stand!) ice cream you'll ever have hands down. My favorites are banana peanut butter swirl and mocha chip! :) read more

I grew up in Pepperell, with this as a favorite spot. Vanilla chip, which is French Vanilla with chocolate chips is a signature flavor and a favorite. We now live closer to the small Brookline secondary location read more

I've been coming to this place for as long as I can remember, and the ice cream is as good as it gets. They have lots of flavors and toppings, so you have an almost unlimited amount of choices. The only downside to this wonderful place is the servers. I rarely see a friendly one when I go, and they do not look happy with their job at all. But all in all, this is a wonderful place that everyone should go to! read more

A long standing joke in my family is that all roads lead to DOC Davis. This very popular ice cream stand is on the NH border a short drive from Nashua, NH. As a kid during the summer I remember many random visits; it seemed that on many hot and humid evenings the family car always ended up here whether it was after running errands or visiting family in other parts of Southern, NH. All of their ice cream is homemade on premises as far as I know. The place is usually packed but they use a number tag system like deli's use in grocery stores. The stand is very adequately staffed with college students waiting to take your order so the wait is never very long regardless of the size of the crowd. One of my favorite flavors is rum raisin. read more

has really gone down hill over the past few years!!! Ice cream isn't as good, some flavors haven't been swapped so long theres ice chips in it and prices are wayyy too high.. Its fricken ice cream, it shouldn't cost the price of a meal! Check out the ice cream spot at charlottes (something like rail trail ice cream station) good selection and it hasn't been sitting around since the beginning of the season! read more

I used to love Doc Davis but my last two trips were disappointing. The first was cookie dough with a lack of dough, tonight butter crunch with not a single crunch in sight. I'm very disappointed and won't be rushing back. read more

This is a summer time favorite of ours. They have a good variety of flavors, as well as pints to go. Some of the flavors don't have a ton of toppings in them, others are what you would expect. Prices are a little high, but I expect to pay a little more for homemade icecream. read more

I grew up going to docs.. so pleasant childhood memories aside.. docs could use some improvements. Creativity is lacking when it comes to flavors, and portion size has gotten skimpy. For the price tag you can do better at Hayward's in Nashua. I hope docs makes a comeback but for now I will pass. read more

Doc Davis' Ice Cream is a place my family *wants* to love, but the ice cream is not very good. consistency: Ice chunks are common - even in the middle of the summer, when you'd expect that the ice cream would be consumed before ice chunks could form. flavor: It's difficult to explain, but all of the flavors have a similar overwhelming flavor to them. It's not soap or mint - but something similar. Something just isn't quite right. other: There is a dearth of candies and chunks in many of the flavors. Chocolate-chip cookie dough is basically an odd-tasting chocolate-chip ice cream with approximately 1 to 2 pieces of cookie dough per serving. atmosphere: It's quiet, remote, and there are enough tables. The whole scene there is enough to make you wish the ice cream was actually good. NOTE: Like many locals here in Pepperell, we have a policy of trying this place once per year in hopes that they've discovered how to make ice cream. read more

Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago. The ice cream was very good and wafflecone was amazing. I'll definitely be back to try some more flavors. The only downside is that they are definitely more expensive than the other ice cream stands in the area. read more

Great tasting ice cream and nice atmosphere, small town ice cream parlor. Service could be a bit more efficient when there are crowds, but I still come here occasionally. Counter folks are friendly. Very popular place. read more

I have been going here since I was a child. This ice cream is some of the best in the area. They have multiple flavor's, all of which are good. The experience itself is awesome. Go here!! read more

This is a super little ice cream joint. A great find that we passed on the road. I had the soft serve twist (small) and it was a gigantic portion. My friends had hard serve and enjoyed it immensely. Giant umbrella outside was a plus. Good variety of flavors. A little pricey. ($3.25 for a small...but, the small was huge). read more

Best homemade ice cream in New England. I have been eating it for 40 years. It is consistently the best ice cream I have ever had.

Used to be my favorite place for ice-cream and I couldn't wait for it to open. Just got my first ice-cream of the season and what a disappointment- got rum raisin - not a single piece of raisin; got cherry amaretto - not a single piece of cherry or flavor of amaretto. For two ice-creams $15 - not going back .... highly do not recommend ! read more

We had ice cream there a few times this summer and it was great. Good flavors that are packed with flavor. This is what a small town ice cream stand is all about. People may complain that it is pricey. Trust me, you get what you pay for. Honestly, I didn't think it was overpriced at all. read more

Pretty much the best thing in the history of the universe. Ok, that may be an exaggeration, but the peanut butter moose tracks is actually my favorite ice cream ever, from anywhere. And they make it there! The ambience isn't fantastic, but that doesn't bother me. And if you go when they're making waffle cones, it smells really really really good. read more

Can never pass up an opportunity to get a Doc's Special!!! Sizes have decreased over the years, but thank god for that! I do not need them to be the size they were when we were teenagers!!! Love Docs!! A must stop when friends & family are home visiting!!! read more

Huge variety of flavors, all very fresh and large portions. Definitely the best "real ice cream" store in the area.

Another reviewer mentioned Hayward's and Kimball Farms and I would say the ice cream here is very similar. What they share for me is that they seem to taste good initially but I gradually lose interest and don't finish my serving which is VERY rare for me!-) I am guessing the problem is an overabundance of thickeners, stabilizers, emulsifiers, etc. The ice cream does not taste very real. Best contrast in this area is Blake's, which does taste like dairy, though the flavor selection is shorter and less interesting. And at Blake's the flavorings are not of the same quality as the ice cream (so order vanilla or something close to vanilla). So for myself I would rate this a 1 but I'll give it a 3 to say it is a perfectly fine ice cream stand if you like that kind of ice cream, which I would describe as driven by the flavorings more than by the quality of the ice cream. For reference, I also like Haagen Das, Ben and Jerry's, and Brigham's, but not most supermarket brands. The place is on the east side of the road and could be mistaken for a small house. read more

Great homemade ice cream with probably the best waffle cones I've ever had. Easily my favorite place to go in the area. The staff is mostly teenagers ,but they do a great job of getting the ice cream out quick and are friendly when interacting with customers. Owners do a great job of adding in new flavors with the seasons as well. read more
