Dr. Gracia was recommended to me by a good friend who has seen Dr. Gracia for many years for general dentistry and orthodontics. After one of my front veneers cracked, I needed to replace it and made a visit to Dr. Gracia this past November. He was very charismatic and assured me he could do all the work I needed/wanted. He replaced my two front veneers, 3 or 4 silver fillings for porcelain onlays and 1 regular filling, and 2 crowns. I made a total of 5 trips to Tijuana from Los Angeles to have the work done. The onlays he did have been great so far. The rest has been a disaster.
Dr. Gracia started to grab tools to remove my original veneers without taking an impression first. I had to ask him to stop and take one - one I would find out he did not give to the techs. The temps he gave me for the veneers were sharp and crazy looking. Photos to follow. 1 temp came off during the week that I waited for the permanent veneers to be made. When the veneers finally came in, they looked like chiclets! In a state of shock, and I regret it terribly, I let him cement the teeth in. I made another visit to have him reshape the teeth a bit because the contact between the two veneers (my two front teeth) looked very unnatural and too "tight". Instead of correcting that, he shortened the teeth, which left them looking worse. After 4 months or so, the veneers, which started out too light, became stained much darker than my natural teeth. They were also thick, opaque, oddly shaped, and dull. I requested $800 back from Dr. Gracia - the cost of the 2 veneers. After some time he agreed.
As more time has passed, I can tell that the one crown he did is poorly cemented and I need to floss several times per day to keep bacteria out. I will need to have this tooth re-done. The one regular filling he replaced with "natural tooth color" is light grey.
In March, my "permanent" front veneer fell off while I was talking to a customer at my restaurant job. Obviously, this was extraordinarily embarrassing. This particular tooth was always a bit painful after he did the work, which makes me think it was never fully/properly cemented.
I have since requested the rest of my money back to have my teeth fixed - the remaining $2000 - and Dr. Gracia has declined, stating that I can come back to have my teeth re-done. No, thank you. read more
