That is when your lower jaw is long and protrudes over your upper jaw. In comparison I looked like a bulldog lol. My total cost for the overall braces procedure was $2,800 (U.S) dollars or $49,415.05 (PESOS) . My first down payment to get started was $900.00 (U.S) or $15,883.45 (PESOS) depending on the currency exchange. Dr. Raúl is a very experienced doctor. He has a team of highly qualified/professional dental assistants. I really admire that they take pride in their work and won't leave you with half a*s job. I am coming close to getting my braces off. Today I got my lower brackets off and was given a retainer. Dr. Raúl was very informative and also gave me proper steps I need to do to keep my teeth straight. Step1. Don't lose your retainer. (Important not to wrap it in tissues or paper cloths) you might possibly throw it away. Step 2. Only wear it at night before going to bed and while sleeping. Instructions may be different for you. Coming from Hawai'i, where Aloha Spirit means everything, and having lived around LA long enough to appreciate good customer service -- this was the perfect combo. They made me feel comfortable, cared for, and never like "just another patient." OFFICE: Alright -- let's keep it real. If you're a fellow American and you are reading this: You're looking for a more affordable, solid dental option outside the U.S. If you're expecting some Beverly Hills, spa-style, influencer dental clinic... stay in America. But honestly, even in Beverly Hills, service can be trash. Now, about those people complaining about having to head to another office for a scan -- come on now. At least they drive you there! I had to do it too, but it was easy, handled, and stress-free. The office itself? Very clean, simple, efficient -- no fluff, no drama. They even offered me a blanket when it got cold. It's the little things DENTAL TREATMENT: I'm fresh out the chair with implants, so still in healing mode -- but the care I got was top-notch. Angie is super sweet and made sure my whole experience was solid -- from my first call to even recommending which beach to go swim at. Communicating with all three of them was easy. Any questions I had were answered, and any concerns were addressed. They made sure I was always in the loop, and that really made a difference for me. TRANSPORTATION / LODGING: Since I was traveling solo, I took the train from LA to SD -- 1) no traffic stress, 2) it's been a while since I crossed the border, and 3) let's be honest, with how politically things have been lately, it's just easier. Not sure if they offer this to everyone, but when I shared my situation, they gave me options, including them providing me rides from SD, through the border, and back to SD. Basically a chauffeur service. Emmanuel, the assistant, was awesome -- super cool, easygoing, and made those drives smooth. Also, they've got hotel deals. I stayed at Quartz -- priced nicely in the mid-range with a hot tub and pool. Perfect place to chill after a dental procedure. (Yep -- I'm literally writing this from the hot tub.) Bottom line: If you're looking for a dental crew that'll treat you like family, has great energy, and does legit work -- this is the spot. I needed 2…read moreimplants and my San Diego dentist wanted to charge me $6500 for both with limited payment plan options. I consulted with Dr. Gonzalez and he could do both for $3800. Being able to save $2700 allowed me to pay in full. The front desk coordinator, Anna, was fabulous. Since I live in South Bay, I could park close to the San Ysidro crossing or save $ by taking the Blue Line Trolley. Must have a passport to cross but afterwards, called an Uber which cost about USD 2.00. The Uber app automatically changed once I crossed the border. Anna would always request an Uber until I was familiar enough do it myself. If you have Global Entry, that's a huge plus. You can bypass the long lines and walk right through. Nice office if a bit small. Equipment looks nice and definitely as nice as my SD dentist. Husband has had 2 crowns placed and we did our general cleaning there until we got dental insurance stateside. I will definitely return for any dental needs that my dental insurance does not cover!
