I saw Dr. Gonzalez at the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed. I needed 2 implants and my San Diego dentist wanted to charge me $6500 for both with limited payment plan options. I consulted with Dr. Gonzalez and he could do both for $3800. Being able to save $2700 allowed me to pay in full. The front desk coordinator, Anna, was fabulous. Since I live in South Bay, I could park close to the San Ysidro crossing or save $ by taking the Blue Line Trolley. Must have a passport to cross but afterwards, called an Uber which cost about USD 2.00. The Uber app automatically changed once I crossed the border. Anna would always request an Uber until I was familiar enough do it myself. If you have Global Entry, that's a huge plus. You can bypass the long lines and walk right through. Nice office if a bit small. Equipment looks nice and definitely as nice as my SD dentist. Husband has had 2 crowns placed and we did our general cleaning there until we got dental insurance stateside. I will definitely return for any dental needs that my dental insurance does not cover! read more

Dr Arturo is not a regular dentist, he is a magician that gets his patients to relax and believe in his knowledge and experience and makes you feel you are in safe hands. You know I realized that I am the type of yelper that either had a fantastic experience or had the worst experience that I had to write about it. I've always been very Leary of going to the dentist in Tijuana for many reasons. But I came here because my dad said Dr. Arturo was the best and that he was clean and he spoke English and that I would probably really like his place. My first impression was actually like hey this place is cool they've got American movies playing in the sitting area and they give you a fast pass to go home and it looks pretty clean, I think I can handle this. I waited an hour and a half for Dr. Arturo with an appointment and then was seated in his office. I already knew I had a root canal retreat that needed to be done on my bottom right molar but was feeling problems start in the molar right above it. He took X-rays of both and confirmed the. Retreat but then told me that he couldn't see anything wrong with the one on top and that he needed to drill to look inside. After they drilled a huge hole in my tooth he told me nothing is wrong and that now I need a crown. Well great. Just what I need, a dentist to drill a hole so big that now I need a crown. Ok give me a crown what am I supposed to do. After being with a temp for two months and then in between that time my crown breaking and another month of them finally getting it installed I finally am fixed. But not before I get a root canal now on that same tooth. So basically to make a long story short I went in for 12 on the bottom right having a problem but then getting treated for a top tooth that was drilled into put a temporary crown on remove the temporary crown got a root canal put the crown on and a broke then had to get another crown put on. Which by the way was for shades darker than the color that I originally had. You know just writing this review is exhausting having to think back to all the things that I had went through with this dentist. Honestly I can't even read anymore but there's so much more. I asked for my money back for that tooth so that I can get it re-fixed here in San Diego because I was told that it was done wrong and it's leaking and they only wanted to give me half of my money back but I still have yet to receive it. I refuse to go back to that place and I don't want anybody I know to go there either. My father actually had implants done and it's been almost a year and they're still not put in correctly and one of his teeth is still missing because they told him he needs to wait six months to get it put in. The dentist was as pain free as was possible, I have no complaints in that area. The staff was very professional, and the clinic was spotless. The took very good care of me. Today was my first time going to Dr. Gonzalez's office. The office was very modern and clean. The receptionist spoke English which was very helpful. Their prices for braces are so much cheaper than in the United States. I would definitely recommend them for anyone who wants to get work done at a reasonable price. I was referred to this dentist. So I thought I would not have any problems. It turns out they did a root canal bit didnt do the crown. I was told to go back in a couple of weeks to get a crown because my tooth was cracked. They should of told me that as part of the diagnosis at the beginning not after the root canal was done. It would of been my decision to do it there and then. Now I have to get my tooth extracted and make a decision if I want an implant or a bridge. This could of been avoided if they would of done the crown immediately after the root canal. Not only that but I had to pay the full treatment and over 1 month and I was told the insurance claim was denied because they did not submit it correctly. Very unhappy with this place. read more

Dr Gonzalez has been my dentist for over 5 years and I couldn't be any happier with his services. I've had bad experiences with other dentists and I can honestly say I have found the "perfect one". Quality dental work and state of the art practice using the latest technology in dentistry. When I first walked into his office I was impressed with the facility/office. I was a little afraid to go to the doctor in Mexico due to the fact that I am really picky about cleanliness, I never saw an assistant without gloves and everything they used was brand new out of the package. They appeared to be as clean or even cleaner that most of the office that I have been to in the past, so they far exceeded my expectations. He offered everything from orthodontics, sedation, implants, oral surgery, laser dentistry and even digital impressions to where I didn't have to gag on the material like other dentist something I had never experienced before. He also has a dental lab on sight and was able to prepare and deliver my final crown within one hour which made it super easy and convenient because it was placed on the same day and didn't have to come back or wait 2-3 weeks with a fake tooth that looks like a white chicklet. As soon as the anesthesia wore off I was able to dig into a steak dinner with my new crown done in one visit and it felt like a million bucks. Not only did he take my ppo insurance from the united stars but my benefits were able to go 2-3 times as far because of the cost of his services. I want to share my horrible experience I had with Dr. Gonzales for many reasons, first off all because of all the pain and suffering he causes me, and second because I do not wish others to risk their health like I did. Let me introduce myself by saying that I am an American-Iraqi female, living in San Diego for the past 28 years. I belong to a huge Chaldean community in the city. Years before the social media, ward of mouth was the way things circulated among the community, which was the way I was referred to Doctor Arturo Gonzales at early 2000s, especially because I did not have dental insurance back then. I was scared at the beginning because I do not know how clean and sterile they in Tijuana, with all of the deceases we here about in other outcries, but, my friend said not to worry because he is American-Mexican dentist and is very good and very reasonable comparing to the dentists in the states. I started going to him for my cavities, but little by little X-rays were needed as Dr. Gonzales claimed, he started saying more cavities to fix. I had my upper tooth that Dr. Gonzales was trying to fix the cavity, but he kept on drilling, drilling and drilling until the tooth diapered from the surface of my gums, which we jumped to a higher level now, ( root canal and a crown and all kinds of things), that kept on bringing me across the border Over and Over! which proved in many way that Dr. GONZALEZ will do anything to earn more CASH!! his games put more cash in his pockets. And to fix his mistake, he ended up performing a gum surgery (CROWN LENGTHENING), The most painful surgery, cutting my gums, it smelled like BBQ, and when I asked him why is he cutting my gums, he lied and said to me that my gums are growing downwards"!!! wow, I did not know that the gums grow, and why only on that side!! Anyhow, Gonzales thinks that Iraqi people come from the caves as he told me in his last e-mail. He then asked me to come back weeks later after it heals, which will give him time to get the root canal and the crown ready, after weeks, he finished it and got his money, this was around 2005 or 2006. Few months ago, that exact root canal fail out of my mouth, and after seeing another dentist, she told me that whoever did that tooth, he only put a metal post into my original root, and there was no root canal, no nerve treatment done! Which explain all of the gums swelling, bad smell, pain and suffering I had to experience for the past 10 or 12 years, and he knew I was in a war zone, but he did not care how dangerous that could be. The orthodontists took X-rays, (please see attachments), and showed it to other professional orthodontists, they all said that I was so blessed the infection did not spread all over my body, and they refused to put that nasty, rusty tooth back in my mouth. I e-mailed Dr. Gonzales just around last week of October 2017, I expressed how disappointed I was for trusting him operate in my mouth, Risking my health, I asked to fix it and I even attached pictures. He in return sent me an email threatening me if I post any bad reviews on social media that he will sue me and get the last dollar I have. Plus, he told me that that tooth was placed somewhere in my country, in his own wards: "And by the way you ignorant substandard, that material has not been used by dentists and Mexico for at approx. 40 years. Also, "Berby Hills, was a typo from auto correct, and its probably a cave in your country, but not in Mexico". He is talking about 70% of his patients that pay him thousands of dollars in cash that came from Caves!! Also, he does not want his reputation to be ruined, but he sent me an e-mail that I am willing to share calling me a psychopath, and saying "I hope for your sake, you start taking medication for your bipolar and schizophrenic disorder". This is one tooth, the other tooth he worked on was an implant, I will need 3 pages long just to share his terrible Job and experience, he took advantage of the fact that I was deployed to Iraq with the US military, and he did such a sloppy job, I had to go to his fancy house in chula vista one time because I was in so much pain and was not going to be in his office in Tijuana, which professional orthodontist take his patients to his house where his puppies are running around barking! I have to floss half of my food every since because of the empty spaces in my mouth. Btw, I asked him to send me all of the work he had performed on my teeth, he only sent me the implant! Now, I am going to have to spend $2500 to fix the first tooth. It is going to be a painful long process, I am also trying to check implant work, and type of materiel he put in my mouth. I will not leave this fly by like bad work on changing my car breaks, this is my health and I am going to do and spend what it takes to prove it.
