Now, keep in mind that I have a fairly complex case of nerve pain in my body. When I went to see Dr. Doyle, I was still trying to figure out what was going on with me physically. Dr. Doyle is a very caring and compassionate person. Her receptionists are wonderful. She definitely seemed to care about me and what was going on with me. However, after getting some help elsewhere from a couple of other people, I don't think she really knew how to best approach my situation. She did say she wasn't sure the approach would work, that it would be somewhat "trial and error" but that was after I had paid... She is a NUCCA chiropractor which is a specialty that is hard to find. If the approach works, it works wonders. If it doesn't, other means may be necessary. She did try a couple of other techniques which did help me some but $600 later my body was still in a lot of pain. Upon leaving her practice, I was able to eventually find help in a place that approaches the issues from both nutritional standpoint and utilizes many different techniques. They cost the same amount as what I paid at her practice. What she did help me with was an old shoulder injury I had from power lifting many years ago. She straightened out my shoulder and helped a tiny bit with my TMJ. I'm gathering that her techniques work well on people with injuries and maybe migraines that are the result of misalignment. I have had a stuck upper cervical spine for years - probably decades, really. I went to Dr. Doyle with a complaint of back/neck stiffness and pain, from which I have been suffering for a long time. There is no doubt that she is very knowledgeable, professional, and experienced. She said I was a good candidate for the NUCCA technique. Based on the reviews I had read on Yelp, I had developed the sense that other people have had immediate results with this technique. However, it did not help me at all. I had biweekly appointments for a month and found no change in the state of my back pain and neck stiffness. There were a number of different approaches that she tried in conjunction with the NUCCA, including aligning my bad shoulders. And she claimed that I was holding my neck adjustment well, but there was still no change in my state. Considering how many other people saw an immediate change, I thought that giving it a month was enough time to be sure it wouldn't work. I had previously, a few months before I went to see Kathy, had a back adjustment by a conventional chiropractor, who cracked my spine to get it aligned. My back felt great after this, and I was very limber for about a week afterwards. This is why I decided to try chiropractics again, but there were so many good reviews about Dr. Doyle that I decided to try the NUCCA this time. However, I feel she is professional and fair. I would have to call Kathy Doyle nothing less than a miracle worker. She knows just what to do to put your spine in order, which affects so much else in the body--in my case, my left hip and leg. For six months or more, I had felt so much stiffness and low-level pain in that part of the body that I began to tell myself it was "the inevitable course of aging." But when I found myself developing the habit going up each stair with just my right foot so as not to feel the pain of putting weight on my left side, I started to grow concerned. I told myself to just "move more," and "exercise more"--but the truth is, it hurt too much to encourage me to take the chance. Then I remembered Kathy. I had gone to her some years before, after a fall, and she had helped me come out of pain and bring my spine into balance. So I called her again and made an appointment. I was a little worried to go to a chiropractor because I don't even crack my knuckles. I came to a stop at a traffic jam on the freeway. Waited there.. minding my own business. All the sudden.. WHAM my car was was hit from behind and rolled into the car in front of me. The straight lines of my car was ...well BENT. At very first - i was ok.. Then, I started to feel dazed and confused. I even felt a bit guilty getting into the accident. Kathy Doyle is amazing. I had been suffering from neck pain for a few years. It wasn't until my 3rd chiropractor that it was discovered that it was because my neck was tilted strangle to the side. A lot of money and a lot of visits later I was only slightly better. I came across Dr. Doyle when I was forced to find a new chiropractor due to moving house and I discovered it didn't have to accept 'some pain'. Dr. Doyle is not only great at giving the adjustments, but she will also take her time to work out exactly what the matter is. And if necessary she will think about it and research, to find the solution, rather than keep trying the same thing. The price is very reasonable and she will only take xrays when necessary. In my case I still had xrays from the year before so she used them. She only took xrays herself after I had a car accident. The folks at the coffee place next door refer to her as the neighborhood miracle worker for good reason! I hobbled in to see Dr. Doyle a little over a year ago, after my back had gone WAY out and I had been bedridden for several days. A visit to a certain medical facility in Oakland that shall remain nameless resulted in getting three prescriptions for pain meds after the doctor only glanced at my back from across the room! When my friend dropped me off at Dr. Doyle's office I was still hobbling around, my body shaped like a question mark. Dr. Doyle took a complete history and took x-rays. She explained her technique (NUCCA) gave me an adjustment. We set a follow-up appointment for the following morning and I went home. I had no need nor desire to take any of the pain meds the other doctor gave me and by the next morning I felt so much better I was able to drive myself to Dr. Doyle's office! I was even in good enough shape that I was able to take a short walk before my appointment. In July of 2015 I was hit by a car while biking in San Francisco. I was fortunate to make it through the crash alive and with no major internal injuries. My muscles, particularly my shoulders and neck, took the brunt of my impact. I already had issues with those areas prior to the accident so I knew I had a good amount of work to do to heal. Over the past 6 months I have thrown myself into every healing resource I could find. Physical therapy, somatic therapies, massages and seen several different chiropractors. But the only chiropractic physician I stuck with (and continue to see) is Dr. Doyle. The gentle nature of the NUUCA technique and the baby steps toward healing are, what i believe has led to the speed of my recovery. I am a student of Chiropractic and was referred to Dr. Doyle after researching NUCCA and learning it could be something that could help me heal. I have been experiencing anxiety and depression for years, and more recently a head fog, dizziness, and frequent headaches that have made it very difficult to concentrate. I went to Dr. Doyle and got x-rays taken. Sure enough, my top 2 vertebrae in my neck (which are the 2 vertebrae NUCCA focuses on) were mis-aligned. My right leg has always been "shorter" than my left by about a half inch. Chiropractors practicing on the full spine have in the past given me a lift for my shoe and have adjusted frequently, but the discrepancy in symmetry would never resolve. It makes sense that the rest of the spine and hip attempt to compensate for mis-aligned vertebrae at the very top of the spine, causing the lack of symmetry. Since going to Dr. Doyle, my headaches, head fog, and dizziness have almost entirely subsided. My depression and anxiety have reduced by about 70%. My leg length evens out for as long as each adjustment holds, which grows further and fewer between. Very grateful to Dr. Doyle. I would recommend her to friends and family. read more

Although I am physically active, I went in almost two years ago for back issues secondary to a herniated disc. I subsequently herniated two other discs while under Dr. Doyle's care, both due to falls. Dr. Doyle is amazing. I have not felt this good in years. This lovely woman has helped my upper neck "stuckness" in the most gentle way. She is very serious most of the time and takes her patients seriously but some how is caring and friendly too. I was amazed that such a simple procedure could fix a problem I've been coping with for years. Six years ago a chiropractor told me my hips were uneven which was making one leg seem longer than that other. This put strain on one of my leg muscles as well as one side of my back. This is a long overdue review... I first saw Dr. Doyle over a year ago. I had been having a bunch of issues and recently found out about NUCCA. The science behind NUCCA made sense, and I liked the idea of a more gentle approach to spinal health than all the cracking and crunching. I'd had a bit of traditional chiro in the past, but the results never lasted. After my first appointment, I felt a huge difference in how I stood, how I walked and ran. Over the next few adjustments I could actually begin to feel when my body was out of adjustment and back aligned properly. I held my adjustment for quite sometime, and somehow fell out again, and upon returning could immediately feel the difference. I've developed quite a keen sense of when I'm out at this point, which is really nice as I'm able to get it taken care of before muscle memory sets in (and makes it take longer for the adjustments to really hold).
