Previously left a 5-star review years ago. It's still a neat place and the now Bassetts ice cream they sell is excellent. However, they no longer have all the great unique sundaes anymore and the selection is really limited. Price has gone up significantly (like most things), but the portions have gone down as well. Sadly it's not worthwhile to take a family here anymore for ice cream. read more

The ice cream was delicious and waffle cone was super fresh and tasty. Service was good too. We enjoyed sitting at a picnic table outside the store. Eating homemade ice cream outside on a beautiful day. Nothing like it! read more

I've always had great experiences here until recently. You can tell staff that engage the customer and those that engage themselves. Friday night we took a walk up to the shop. One guy in line and he has a good sized order. All three staff are attending to him. I walk in.... Wait...wait... three minutes go by. Not a single word from any of them. The guy looks back at me and says to them "hey, one of you can wait on him". Not a word from them, they are still waiting on his next part, all three of them.. I wait two more minutes and leave. The guy says "I'm sorry man, I'm almost done!" I reminded him it's not his fault, apparently the three of them skipped the review day for actual customer service. The owners need to take a look at who they are hiring because some of these school kids have no common sense... We've come here probably 25-30 times and I've been quite vocal about supporting them as a small business but trash is trash and it needs to be recognized as such read more

we booked their mobile ice cream trail and absolutely loved it!! the service was amazing. they made our guests feel comfortable and not to mention their set-up was very cute and high end. what I remember most is that during our event they made it a point to find us to make sure we had enough ice cream - I wasn't expecting that (we used them for a baby shower so you can imagine that made me really happy lol). work with them setting everything up was also very easy and professional. book them!!! read more

After dinner at The Smoke Factory, went for dessert at the Downtown Scoop. Glad I stopped. It is small, but has plenty of outdoor seating. First the bad: They have a small freezer, and only a handful of flavors. The good: They only have a handful of flavors, which makes it easier (and quicker) to choose. The variety is good enough that everyone should be able to find something they like. And the give samples to help you decide. I had "Death by Mint" with chocolate flakes. (Spoiler Alert - it didn't actually kill me, although my doctor wouldn't be happy about me eating it.) Anyway, it was possibly the best mint chocolate "chunk" ice cream it have ever had. Certainly the best in recent memory. Will likely risk "Death" again the next time I am in the area. read more

My daughter has a dish of strawberry, Creamy & full of strawberry flavor. I had salted caramel, very rich & not overly sweet. Easy parking. Quick service. Definitely make the trip. Downtown Scoop is a cute ice cream shop in town! It is close by to some other restaurants and shops in the heart of Souderton. I got two scoops of the black raspberry on a sugar cone, which was good but wished I would've gotten only one scoop because the flavor was overpowering. My boyfriend got the Reese's peanut butter ice cream and it was amazing! The shop has outdoor and indoor seating which was convenient because it started raining during my visit. The staff was friendly and speedy! It was a great visit to fulfill my sweet tooth and I am always happy to support locally owned businesses! read more

Downtown scoop makes wonderful homemade ice cream. If u are looking for 1000 flavors then this isn't the place for you. They are more of a boutique type of establishment with high quality ice cream with a dozen or so flavors. I love the toasted coconut, salted Carmel and my husband loves the triple chic ice cream. A MUST TRY! LOVE this new homemade ice cream shop! It's right down the road from the park we like to go to. Super friendly staff, very afforable! I got 4 ice creams last night for my kids and I and spent less then $10! Mind you they only have about 10 flavors at a time, but that's what makes you want to back and see what's new in stock! Went for ice cream here two days ago. Great selection of homemade ice cream. Every flavor I tried was excellent and made it hard to choose! Vanilla with peanut butter and fudge, mint cookie, toasted coconut, pistachio, cookies and cream....the list goes on! Very creamy and out of this world taste. Different toppings and cones to choose from as well as two kinds of coffee. The owner said they will be closing on Oct. 31 for the season but until then ice cream is 50% off due to end of season! They also sell ice cream to take home if you live nearby. Can't wait to go back next week! read more

I love this place. The salted caramel ice cream is so good. They are so nice in there too. One year my son was having a tantrum (he was very small) bc he changed his mind about his ice cream. I was trying to ignore him and get out of there and the girl came outside and brought him an extra scoop of the kind he wanted. He didn't deserve it, but it made for a much calmer ride home!
