Prior to DPD, I had spoken with and considered multiple different dog walking services in the area. I personally feel Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs is one of the best services I have ever used period (dog walking or otherwise, in any region). Kevin, the owner, is incredibly professional, organized, and responsive. Scheduling is easy (via an online interface), you get a nice email with details about the walk (and often a photo!), and service has been truly excellent and incredibly accommodating. My dog is also a bit fearful and shy and her walkers have been lovely and patient with her. Kevin also knows his dog-walkers well and he has been great about matching people up with Mia (my dog). We always receive prompt service, Maz absolutely loves the dog walkers that come, and most importantly, I get a full report after the walk! I can speak for all of us (myself, my fiancée and our buddy boy Beto) when I say that we are nothing but thrilled that we found Downtown PGH Dogs. As soon as we adopted Beto we had to find a dog walker to use when both of us worked long hours. Our apartment referred us to DPD and we couldn't be happier. Kevin (DPD owner) came over to have a meet n greet with Beto promptly to get to know him and address our basic needs for their services. After that, everything has been a breeze! Scheduling online is as easy as it can possibly be, in addition to payments. You can have an automatic deduction of the cost after each walk, or you can pay a lump sum at the end of each month. We mostly have the same walker for Beto (we love you, Stef!) and this is helpful to him because he can be anxious around new people. She always visits him at the same time and sends a pic with an update as soon as she leaves. I always appreciate the prompt feedback! DPD also offers in home boarding for our furry friend if we need to leave him at home for a few days. We also utilized those services, which were nothing but great! There is also boarding at DPDs home base, in addition to group dog walks if your fur kid enjoys to be around other dogs. The cost is also very affordable - 1 walk = $24. It's so nice to know that Beto is in good hands and can get a break from the crate when we are both at work. Lastly I want to give a round of applause to Kevin Schriver! Beto is the first dog that we have had together and we've had some behavioral issues that Kevin has helped us out a lot with. We joke around and say that Kevin is our dog therapist (haha!) but he really is very knowledgeable and has a lot of advice for new time pet owners. We give DPD 5 stars! Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs has been great! We got a brand new puppy right after the new year and had to find a way for him to be taken care of while we were at work. We were referred to DPD by a few different people, so we had Kevin come out to meet us and the pup (Franz). During our first session with meeting Kevin, he was very helpful in answering a few questions we had and gave some tips on raising a puppy. We came up with a plan for DPD to take Franz out twice a day while he is a puppy, and will move on to him going on group walks as he gets older. We love that they leave us little notes after each session so that we can keep up with how Franz is doing. It's also great to know that they work on some obedience training with him as well, and we are even training him with German commands that they have asked us for and are using! DTD offers the best service around! We were in need of a dog walker for our puppy while at work. We contacted several companies to help us out. The only one to respond was DTD. Kevin was able to come meet us and our pup the next day, and begin walking service the day after that. The online site makes scheduling and payments hassle free. There have been several times where we needed the dog walker (Casey, shes the best!) to come the next day, and were not able to request it until 9pm the night before. For the short time we have been utilizing their services, we receive daily messages about how our little one did on his walk. We currently have a little puppy, and work full time. Kevin really helped us out this 4th of July. We needed to do something with our 2 dogs for the day since we were taking a day trip out of town. All the kennels were either over priced, over booked, or wanted us to leave our dogs with them for 3 days...ridiculous! Kevin was able to meet with us immediately to introduce himself to the dogs and make sure they liked him and that we trusted him. I had a friend in town who met him briefly when we exchanged keys and she said immediately after he left "wow I think I would leave my kids with him" because even in a 5 min interaction she could tell he was so kind and responsible. I usually do not like giving people access to my home when I am not there but I have no issues with Kevin coming whenever we need him. Downtown Pittsburgh Dogs has been a godsend for me and my dog Mia. I'm in Pittsburgh for a long term work contract and had to bring my dog Mia being she's my little girl. I was considering dog daycare or a walker and had no daycare nearby and Mia prefers home anyway so I was referred to DPD and Kevin by The Crate Escape, who I originally selected but they didn't service my area. So I called Kevin and we met and he's a great guy so I felt comfortable. So the first day I joined to make Mia feel at ease and also see what it's like. It was an awesome walk for use both and I knew Mia could be home while I'm working and she'd get a break to exercise, pee and poop. That evening I decided it was such a excellent walk that I'd do 2 per day. It's been perfect! And I come home and even have a journal entry for each walk. For anyone that has a dog downtown home during the day I HIGHLY recommend DPD. Your dog will be happier, healthier, and will likely lose behavioral issues because your dog needs to connect with other dogs and people and they need exercise. Kevin and his team are incredible. Just a few days after bringing my 10 week old puppy home I quickly realized I didn't have anybody to take her out while I was at work that first time! I reached out to a few places and Kevin was the only one to respond that day! (The others took almost 5 days to respond....) Then, when I told him the urgency of the situation, he came down THAT DAY to meet my baby Sacha and talk with me about what I'm looking for in my puppy walks for her. Then he told me he would make sure he took care of her that night!! Not only is this a great business decision, it really showed me that he cares about all the pups and his bottom line is to make sure that they are all getting the care that they need. That included rearranging his schedule to take her out in the middle of an evening on a Saturday, last minute, with a new client. Since that day, I could not possibly go to anybody else.
