The Staff at Friendly Paws knows my dog's name everytime I make reservations and are always excited to see him. The dogs get along so well in their areas, and they do such a great job with the daily care for my dog, the PB Kongs, at bedtime, and even pre-pickup baths. Friendly Paws is a great place to board your pet! I've used them before for both boarding and daycare, and I trusted them again for boarding my dog, Jack-Jack, for about a week while I was on vacation. He seemed to have a great time. I called to check on him about halfway through and received a very reassuring update. I also arranged for him to get a bath before I picked him up and was pleasantly surprised when I received a text and pictures the night before of him looking clean and happy right after the bath. I usually worry about Jack-Jack coming home with kennel nose, but that didn't happen luckily. Everyone was so friendly at drop-off and pick-up, and I will definitely be taking Jack-Jack back. read more

We took our beautiful and playful, two year old Rottie to Friendly Paws for boarding while we were on vacation. At pick-up, Dave noticed chunks of skin missing from her face and asked the manager about them. She said she had no idea. Not once were we contacted about an incident or injury in the eight days Coco was there. Coco came back to us seven pounds lighter, banged up, and needing several trips to the vet to treat open sores on her neck and face. She was in so much pain she had to be fully sedated so the vet could shave and treat the wounds on her neck. We were immediately in touch with the facility's owner who also claimed she played with Coco earlier that day and noticed nothing. They have since tried to suggest that Coco had an allergic reaction to their groomers' soap in the last hours of her being kenneled (as if her wounds, a severe bacteria infection, and seven pounds of weight-loss, happened in a few hours). They've suggested Coco banged her head against a fence. They're suggesting now she had skin issues before she came to the kennel. False. Friendly Paws will not take responsibility for her poor care. We are talking with the appropriate organizations and powers-that-be to investigate the situation and make sure this doesn't happen to another animal at this facility. Additionally, I'm asking you to share this information with other local dog owners and lovers. No animal deserves one hour, one day, or one week of suffering at the hands of neglect. Coco is healing and finally getting back to her sweet, energetic self. She is still on meds and scabby but happy to be home and gaining back her cheeky little Rottie chubs. read more

If I could give this boarding facility -10 stars, I would. Please, if you love your animal...DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS FACILITY. They do NOT care. The dual owners appear to not visit their Business. It is staffed by 20 somethings who appear more interested in anything but taking care of your beloved babies. I recently boarded my two dogs there. One is a Morkie and is 10 months old and the other is a five-year-old Shih Tzu. It was an extensive board because my husband and I were out of the country for 17 days. We had previously had our dogs at the facility for a four day stint and that one seemed to go OK. So we figured it would be fine for them to be there while we were out of the country. We arranged for them to have at least one bath while they were there ( we ordered the "Ultimutt bath"), Which according to their marketing material included "a scrub, rinse, ear clean, Teeth clean, Nail trim/Dremel and blow dry". Also, our Shih Tzu tends to get yeast infections on his skin and ears which I have gotten under control but in advance I gave them his medicine. I paid a total of $45 for them to apply this medicine every other day to his ears as well as comb out his chest and legs to stop the yeast from building up. That was the plan. They have you bring your dogs' food in so they eat the same food they get at home. We use "the farmers dog" which is a very high grade product. We brought plenty of food in and I explained to them how much should be given them in the morning and at night. We left on our vacation. During the vacation, I did Call in to check in on the dogs and Everything was "fine". Once we got back home, I went in on a Friday to pick up our puppies. The woman/girl/20 something went back to pick up Remi our Shih Tzu and to say I was appalled would be a massive understatement. My dog was unable to open his eyes. His hair including especially the hair on his ears was incredibly matted. He was skin and bones. Frankly, he looked homeless. This girl who brought him out acted like she didn't even notice what was going on. I was in shock and so upset. His skin looked horrible as well. I told her to have the owner call me. I have attached pictures of my dog after I washed him once I got him home. He had lost almost a full pound of body weight. I found out that apparently three days prior to our arrival back in the US, they had run out of the food that we brought and rather than text, call or email us about this, they contacted our emergency contact and all they did was tell him "we will just feed him other food". I have no idea what they fed him but he was either unable to get to it or it was not good or something but he was skin and bones to the point I could feel his back bone all down his back. His yeast was uncontrollable especially his ears. As far as I can tell, they never applied any of the medicine anywhere. If they did, it was negligible. I do not believe they brushed him anywhere as we discussed prior to the board. Keep in mind I paid almost $50 for this additional service. On top of this,All weekend he was unable to open his eyes.I just got back from the vet who told me that he had scratched his retina/ eye and I have him on antibiotics as well as as an ointment and I have him on special products to help get the yeast infections back under control. Of course When I spoke to the owner, she proceeded to tell me that she had not been at the facility because she had a death in her family and she referred me to someone else. That person called me from a number I did not recognize. When we finally did text, in both instances they acted like I'm the jerk here. "Why am I upset? Why am I requesting money back?" Because frankly, I feel paying $550 to board my dog and then have to pay another $200 in vet bills because of their negligence is disgusting. They should never be working with dogs. Both of them had an attitude with me and I'm sorry if a person has an issue with their family but bottom line, the buck still stops with you. I have boarded other facilities and had wonderful results. I thought I would try this one out because it was closer and catered to small dogs but they do not care whatsoever.Your dog is going to be let out in the morning and brought back in at night and they pay no attention. Even the owner admitted to me that perhaps the 20 somethings who work for her could be better trained. These people are disreputable and should never ever be running a boarding facility. The quick bath package is also a god send after a muddy day of play or when they just need a fresher and not a full groom. I travel for work often and I need a place that can watch my pug with flexible hours. Normally my pug hates going to these sorts of places, but this place he gets excited to go! He loves the girls who work there and he loves that the play pen is outside! They also have a bus program where they can pick up and drop off your dog which is so convenient. We tried a few places before this place but this is by far the best. The people genuinely care about taking care of your pet and that makes me feel happy bring him here. When I picked up my dog, his ribs were showing. He lost so much weight and he contracted a severe virus. He is up to date on all shots and vaccines. I think the kennel is too crowded and probably lacks basic hygiene with water bowls and food bowls. This is not an economy kennel either. Really very disappointed and upset about how sick my dog got under their care. I would not recommend this kennel for any amount of time or money. read more

Absolutely horrible! We began taking our dogs there months ago. We have two very social and loving dogs who are always around many other dogs and play great. One day, we were told our one dog started rough housing with another so they were separated. We took a few days off and went back. A few weeks later, our dog came home with bite marks in her paw and limping. The staff said they, "don't know what happened!" If you are a professional business with cameras (which they have) you should probably check the footage for what happened to inform your clients since our dogs are our babies. A few days later, a friends dog came home with bite marks in her paws as well. Same response of an inattentive staff. We take the dogs when we go to work every other day. One day, we were told my friends that our dogs were always segregated from the group, so I tested this theory. I dropped them off at 8:30 am, drove by at 9:30, they were secluded in a tiny pen by themselves. At 11, my dogs was sitting watching the others play looking so sad as they were still in a pen by themselves. At 1:30, they were one again not moved from the pen. Never once did they socialize them with other dogs. It would be one thing if they Informed us that our dogs would be separated because our one dog "barks". Yes that was their excuse. SHES A DOG. Of course she barks!!! So basically we've been paying money to a company who puts my two dogs in a kennel sized pen, by themselves, and makes them watch others socialize. They are incompetent, inattentive, and unprofessional. I truthfully think they are money hungry and have no love for other people's pets. If you love your babies, stay away. I would never put my dogs in a crate. Never did since I got them. So for them to be locked in a crate when I'm PAYING people for daycare.... I'm just sickened. read more

CAUTION... Make SURE you get a price in writing before dealing with these people.. I took my dog there to meet them and we agreed on a price for boarding when I came back a week later to pick my dog up they would not let me see him until I paid the bill and they tried over charging me $100. He's a medium-size dog and they tried telling me that they charge by weight. (This was not our original agreement). Eventually she honored our original agreement but proceeded to yell and scream at me all the way out to parking lot.. She also tried to keep his leash. Very petty, immature and UNPROFESSIONAL.. We had been taking our dog to Friendly Paws for nearly two years. We were regular, loyal customers- despite an offer to visit a newer, cleaner facility opening nearby. We purchased "punch cards" for 95% of our dog's visit. These allot for 10 visits per card. Our dog was a regular, visiting 1-3 times per week. We have credit cards on file to be billed if our dog ran out of punches--which we always verbalized our consent for these days. Just yesterday, I received an email that they were going through their books and noticed 6 visits they had missed-from as far back as July! I immediately called, as we have never had an issue prior to this. I was told by the employee that if I "could prove where my dog was on those days" they would look into it. I am a dedicated dog mom, but was surprised by this statement. I can't remember where I was on specific days in July, let alone if my dog went to daycare. The purpose of the punch card is for Friendly Paws to properly track attendance and bill the account. At the very minimum, this error should have been caught months ago! Oddly enough, I have emails from them showing the number of visits remaining on the punch cards. They recently alerted us to an upcoming price increase--the second in less than 2 years. Which we would have accepted because we believed in the staff's commitment to our dog. After nearly 2 years of patronizing this facility, I'm truly disappointed by this error and the absolutely unprofessional manner it was handled. I had recently purchased another punch card and had 7 visits remaining. I was told in the email they were going to use his card to clean up the "unpaid" visits. And we would be left with one session. I've never had a business do anything like this and offer no apology or explanation for their error. We also were not contacted by the owner. Not by phone or even an email. She left the cleanup and subsequent fall out to be shouldered by her employee. We had already been feeling a little trepidatious about continuing our relationship with Friendly Paws due to the stand-offish demeanor of the owner. We recently saw the owner at a local pizza restaurant. She and her family came into the restaurant and were seated directly next to us--less than 5 feet away. We attempted to just give a friendly hello. But she acted as though she didn't see us (though she made eye contact) and literally turned her back to us. Keep in mind we have been patronizing her business 1-3 per week for the last 2 years. We could have let that rudeness pass. Everyone has off days...but the owner seems she's unconcerned with maintaining niceties beyond her financial gain. Over the years, we had noticed a lot of turnover with her staff--which can often be attributed to the management/ownership. But there are two young ladies who have remained steady. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of her staff. The two girls who work there are the absolute best. They truly love the dogs. And I'm saddened my dog will not be near them any longer. Every time I mentioned their names, my dog would perk up and get excited to see them. The employees do the best with what they are given. And they try to manage despite the owner's lack of leadership. If you decide to take your dog here, I'd ask for a paper receipt for each visit to avoid the nonsense we experienced. And again, we have received no explanation nor apology from the owner for this error. read more

Super friendly staff- my dogs love them. I know that they will be looked after even though they get very busy. We've had some bad experiences with other doggie daycares and nothing has ever gone wrong here. My only negative comment is they recently raised their prices for daycare in August so we can't take them as much now. ***UPDATE- I originally wrote that they raised their prices and I couldn't take my dogs as much BUT let me tell you, these guys are worth every penny! And they are comparable to any other dog daycare that you will find in the area, price-wise. First of all - my dogs are psycho and don't like anyone but they LOVE the staff at friendly paws and the employees there have been so great with my two crazy dogs. And they really went above and beyond when I was having my baby and I didn't know when I would go into labor and need to board the dogs. The staff at Friendly Paws always does a fantastic job of taking care of my dog, Moose. He's able to play and socialize with other dogs in a manner that's safe and he always comes home pooped from having so much fun.
