When I called to ask Dr. Earls more questions before scheduling the exam, I was told she was with a patient - she never called me back. I called back a week later to ask for Courtney, who never seems to be in the office, and again was told Dr Earls would call me - she never did. After 3 phones and tomorrow being THREE WEEKS, I STILL have not heard from their office AT ALL. Today I called a final time and was told by the receptionist that it wasn't "a doctor day," that Courtney isn't in, and then told that Dr Earls would be out ALL week for Spring Break (NOT what the receptionist originally said). I'm obviously being given the run around, and after spending close to $1,000 for their overpriced glasses and sunglasses at my last appointment. Dr Earls is excellent...IF you can see her in person. She doesn't return phone calls, neither does Courtney, apparently, and the receptionist doesn't seem to want to help pass on messages, as she gives the run around when explaining where the two primary employees are at any given time of the workday. After years with this company, and already being frustrated with the high prices, this was the final straw. Our family will be finding an optometrist and eyeglass company that respects and corresponds with customers in a timely fashion. I DO NOT recommend DePoe for these reasons.

I needed glasses fast and I saw they had availability. There's a $40 fee to get an exam that…read moreinsurance won't cover and to get a contact prescription is an additional $80 NOT covered by insurance. They were not forthcoming with these fees. I payed $120 just for an exam and a contact "FITTING" (putting in the contacts myself) this price did not include any contacts nor glasses. The glasses were an additional $210 on top of the other fees. They only have high end frames so just be prepared or don't come at all. Just buy glasses online fam. In this economy outrageous. The people were nice but I was not expecting $330 price tag. A redeeming quality was the service. Everyone was kind and explained what was happening. I mostly have a gripe with a lack of transparency within the medical industry.

I got a botched LASIK job in ATL, and went for a opinion here. My issues were exactly those referred to in military guidelines compounded by large pupils and vitreous detachments in both eyes. My questions must have been spot on. I believe this bc upon my departure, i walked out with one of their " release" forms. Some goon ran out and demanded it back. Lasik was a big money maker. Lasek is the surgery i should have gotten. Yet Lasek is more painful as there is no flap. Eisner defended LASIK and he should bc it has it's positives like easy tune ups post initial ablation, but he failed to grasp that in my case, LASIK was not ideal or perhaps neither choice was. Not once did Eisner acknowledge the militarys views as well as Dr Gaytons. An open mind instead of fear is the way.

Botched: Dr. Groves read another patient's medical file and…read moreinserted the wrong size implants. Prior to the surgery, I authorized Dr. Groves to implant one of three sizes. I did not authorize him to deviate from the operative plan. During surgery, Dr. Groves reviewed the wrong patient's file. He then inserted a size far different from any authorized size. In the operative note he wrote, "I felt this was the correct size for her." Six days post-surgery, at my first post-op appointment, Dr. Groves acknowledged he had reviewed a different patient's file. His exact words were, "I looked at the wrong note. I looked at the wrong sizes. So, it was all on me." Because of his malpractice, I had to recover from one botched surgery knowing I would have to undergo another surgery and painful recovery. I am happy to discuss my experience with anyone considering undergoing a procedure.
