The boba was soggy and noticeably overcooked, which really took away from the texture. The taro coconut latte was decent, but the taro slushie was far too sweet despite requesting less sugar, so sweet that we couldn't finish it. Being one of the few boba spots in town, this place definitely fills a niche when you're craving boba. However, compared with the many excellent options in San Antonio, the quality and balance of flavors just aren't on the same level. It will satisfy the craving if you don't have many alternatives nearby, but for truly good boba, I'd look elsewhere, if you can find any around here.

I am here regularly and Ashley, Nita, and one or two of the other girls were so dang adorable and kind and helpful. Today I just felt like the other girl behind the register was just trying to be a pushy sales woman with no kindness in her words. My rewards weren't working and instead of trying to figure why like Nita was, the other older woman with gray/white hair and colors just made comments that it was because I didn't put it in. It was extremely off putting just the way she was. As I grabbed my straw to leave she walked out and went right to her car in front and began smoking a cigarette. A pleasant foodie surprise in San Angelo!…read more I had to come into San Angelo for work and going into the trip, I was not too excited about my food options available to me as a vegetarian...but I did find Buttercup online and it seemed close enough to those "hip, city coffee shops", meaning I should be able to get some decent food! Unfortunately, a lot of their hot sandwich options were off the table since they seemed to have a broken toaster, but I was able to order a hummus veggie sandwich that came with seasoned potato chips, a side salad, and a stick of chocolate. I also got a vanilla cake bite (pop without the stick) and everything was about $18 with tip. I didn't feel like trying any of the drinks, but some of the coffee flavors sounded interesting and they have seasonal flavors too. The ambiance is inviting, and definitely feels like a cozy place for the community to come hang. If you ever find yourself in this part of west Texas, definitely keep this spot in your back pocket for close to healthy eats!

I feel terrible for him because he was so proud, having had taken the time to research and order a custom made cake, not just a grocery store cake like we have done in the past. Unfortunately, it was the most expensive, and yet worst tasting cake we have ever had. I would have preferred a cake from the grocery store. The cake itself was extremely dense. It was difficult even to slice, and nowhere near moist. It appeared to have been baked several days before because it's texture was like that of an old, stale cake. The chocolate icing was thick and very stiff with a bitter after taste. It too seemed old. My entire family was very disappointed, as well. I don't know, perhaps Shana was having an off week. I was planning on trying the casseroles but have since changed my mind. It's not worth taking the chance, considering the cost. I don't have any problem paying more for a premium product but the cake we received definitely was not of that category.
