Was here for about a week and like to return with clean clothes. I was in Hilo and found this place. The cost was 2 bucks a pound with a 10 pound minimum for wash and fold. While I didn't have 10 pounds I was happy to spend 20 bucks so I didn't have to stay with my clothing. Staff on both visits were kind and welcoming. The place is clean with TVs and is next to a few places to eat if you're there for a spell. Bathroom needs a code but was also clean. Clothes were done when they said, smelled a lot better than when I dropped them off, were all folded nicely. Lots of locals in the place. All just doing their thing. read more

At 9:30 pm I was in an AirBnb in Pahoa; every piece of clothing I'd brought from the mainland was dirty, and I needed a shower. I drove 20 minutes or so to Downtown Laundry Express. The place was clean (including the bathroom), the machines were clean and in good condition, the staff was pleasant, and I liked the atmosphere. We (the customers) were a varied crew but treated one another with respect and aloha. The prices were high but not extraordinarily so. All in all, an Excellent Adventure! read more

Pros: load your laundry card (dispensed from two "vending machines that tak cash or credit card, clean bathroom, air conditioned, plenty of places to sit, numerous washer options, reasonably priced, tv's for adults and kids, soap vending if you forget yours, even a snack and drink machine. Cons: locked outlets, no WiFi Update: --unequal treatment--during COVID I was asked not to sit in the available chairs (every four chairs were taped off to promote social distancing, with the fifth left open). The lady said, "the open chairs were only for emergency". I accepted this and sat in the car, as I'm an essential worker myself and know the stress of temporary policy enforcement. However, every week since then, I see numerous people sitting in these same chairs and the same lady isn't enforcing the policy. I've been coming here for eight months now, spending a lot of money, and now I wonder if I would be better to go elsewhere. read more

I'm a loyal customer for years. With these new washers however, I've noticed a difference. I think these washers are set to use less water. As a result there have been a few occasions where the tide pod had not dissolved entirely leaving kind of a sticky goo on the item it sticks to. I filled the washer once with about half of what it says it can do - I did one basket whites in the two basket washer. This time, it fully dissolved. Conclusion? You might want to use liquid detergent for these new washers. read more

As far as laundry services go, this place was very clean and organized. You have to add credit to a reusable card, which for a one time stop like ours, was a bit of a pain but not a huge deal. For regulars I can see how that would actually be quite convenient. All the machines worked, prices were decent, and there's plenty of baskets and space to relax while you wait. If you're visiting the area and smell a bit too much like the Pacific then definitely take the time to come here! read more

This place was great until they replaced the very good washing machines with high efficiency, low agitation, low effectiveness machines. Using my same pretreat and detergent my clothes came out much dingier. The dryers were replaced too with smaller dryers. I needed to split my load and it still took longer to dry on medium. I haven't been to a laundromat in over two decades. The machines here are plentiful and clean. The attendants do a really good job by making sure everything is running smoothly, and they're always willing to help. The machines are operated by their in-house card that's purchased at a kiosk. The kiosks to purchase their laundry card take debit/credit in case you don't have cash on hand. There's also a cash change machine in case you need it, too. There's a couple of vending machines, two wall mounted tv's, and a keiki (kids) corner. There are detergents, laundry bags, and fabric softeners available for purchase in-store for $1.25 each. Everything here is great, except for the parking, which is the reason for the 4 star rating. read more

My favorite spot to do laundry, clean, update provides carts and table to do laundry. Love that you don't have to use coins, but rather a card that you can add money to it! Place where the kids can hang out. Decent amount of setting. Most of the time you have friendly caring staff. Okay so seriously this places was 5 star until recently where it seems that people are allowed to bring their flea scratching "pets" into this place. These are NOT service animals- they bark and jumps all over people. It's completely disgusting and such a turn off. I literally saw 3 people who came with their PETS during the 2 hours I stayed there! It's now getting overpacked and crowded. It's such a shame! Overall this place needs to be much stricter with allowing these pets in as the will end up facing lawsuits for allowing these pets into the facility and hurting someone!! read more

When I came in to try to stay safe, the service rep cleaning the place told me to go back outside. I felt unsafe outside. She did not seem to care. I've been coming to this place for years and this was the first time I have felt unwelcome. I won't be coming back if this is the type of people they are hiring. We went to do our laundry for our 10 days trip on a Sunday expecting a packed place. It was but there are so many machines there that we got our 4 loads of laundry done in less than an hour. Tips: To load up the card by credit card, mininum deposit is $10. If you want less than that, it's cash only. And do your laundry at the far end to be closer to the dryers - as we spreaded out our loads. read more

We brought 30 lbs worth of laundry here for wash/dry/fold. We were in Hawaii for about 3 weeks with our infant daughter so we needed laundry done. We did not get a lot of clothing back, it seems like a whole load was missing. We called them to ask about it and the person we talked to remembered washing some clothes and drying our clothes but didn't fold them because it was the end of her shift. When we requested to speak to a manager she didn't feel comfortable bringing it up because she was new to the place. We have not heard from them since the incident. I would not recommend using Wash/Dry/Fold Service from them. read more

A clean modern Laundry facility. The staff is very helpful and explaining their system and the function of their equipment.

They use laundry cards to pay and it works quite well. The machines are clean and there is an attendant there to help.

They almost make doing laundry fun. Even in the middle of the night. Almost. Spacious, clean and with thoughtful little additions like a keiki/children's corner with a bench seat and animated movies playing to entertain the little ones and two tables with benches nearby for parents to munch on a meal or work on a computer. Sadly, this place does not have wi-fi, which is why I am taking away a star. I have laundry at my apartment building but needed to wash 3 pillows and 3 curtains on the afternoon of 4/30/23. I used one of the $15.35 washers (put $30 on the card) and unfortunately the largest pillow burst in the wash cycle. I did my best to clean out the washer, although due to the amount of stuffing it left a mess. The attendant was clearly perturbed at the mess and she accused me of putting the burst pillow in the dryer 3 times stating it will mess the electric. The pillow was not salvageable and had disintegrated, and no I did not put it in the dryer. I explained no I had not put it in the dryer that there were 2 other pillows. I apologized for making the mess. I threw the stuffing in the front rubbish and the admonished me for putting in that rubbish bin due to the AC blowing it around. When I asked where I was suppose to put it she stated in the can outside. At this point, I was perturbed and responded, "I didn't do this on purpose and it's you job!" I was in Hilo for my nephew's baseball tournament (Friday - Tuesday) and of course after every game we had to wash his uniform. The hotel we were staying at only had 2 washers/drayers and of course pretty much the whole hotel was filled with baseball teams and their families. So needless to say waiting for a washer/dryer could take a while. One day while looking for a Subway (my nephew was craving), we happened upon a Laundry Mat. My sister and I both do not need to go to laundry mats at home, but in our part experiences they weren't the best place that we would want to go to. However we didn't really want to spend what little free time we had just waiting for available washers in our hotel, so I told her that I would go with her to do her son's uniform. So we took a deep breath, gathered all our quarters and went to the Downtown Laundry Express. The outside looked decent enough, but were were in awe when we walked through those automatic doors. WOW!! Is the word. The atmosphere was like no other laundry mat that I had ever seen. It was huge, clean, had A/C, huge flat screen TV's on the wall, tables, chairs, vending machines, a children's play/TV area and LOTS (like 50 each) of washers and dryers. We were so intimidated, that instead of trying to figure things out by ourselves, we went to ask the worker behind the counter. She was so nice and helpful. The funny thing is quarters were no longer needed. You went to a machine and purchased a card and you use that card for the washers/dryers and soap vending machines. After my sister put in my nephew's uniform, we went next door to Subway to buy lunch and went back to the laundry mat to eat, watch TV and enjoy the A/C. It was very busy, but everyone was there were pleasant and the worker was always doing something. Whether it was making sure the place was neat (sweeping, etc) or checking on customers to make sure everything was ok. That day we had an eye opening experience. There was plenty of parking, there were food places close by and the laundry mat itself was great. These owners had a great vision and their staff is wonderful. Keep up the good work! read more

This review is for an experience that occured in 8/11/18 at 630pm. There was young local man and an older woman working. I went to the machine to purchase a $20 card for work related laundry. I went to the counter and asked the older woman if she could please write a receipt for my transaction so that my employer could reimburse me for ny purchase. She said that they can't give a receipt for cash transactions. Keep in my mind I've done it this way before and had no issues. It was actually an employee who had introduced me to this method. She still wouldnt do it. So now I am leaving this review because I am suddenly out $20 becaude she wouldnt write up a receipt, even though she saw me make the transaction. Also, she was had a very rude attitude the entire time. I will NEVER come back. Not to a place who is as good as stealing from me. read more
