When I come to town visiting family I always hit the growler store as out in NE you need to be at a brewery to get them. This place is solid. This place is a true hot-spot in Gainesville! Perfectly location on Gainesville square with plenty of restaurants around, this place can get pretty packed really fast. Upside? Cheap drinks and plenty of people to mingle with and even game nights. Downside? Too many people and not enough seating. It's also Georgia, so it can also get really stuffy. Wow! I live in Flowery Branch and we have a Growler store downtown. I always went there until I went to Downtown Drafts. The selection is good and the employees were very helpful. I don't know what that Kathryn lady put in her Wheaties, but Downtown Drafts is one of the most friendliest places I have been and everyone I know that goes there is a fan! This is a good honest review and know that we are very thankful you opened in the square. I have heard that some of the other businesses are jealous and would try anything to hurt a good honest owner just trying to live the American Dream and support his family. This place is basically a hipster beer joint. They have a great selection of beers that you just don't see everywhere, which is good. But, honestly, this place only holds my interest for about 20 minutes. The seating inside is kinda close together, so if it's a full house, you can't really move around without making everyone get up out of their seats. It's kinda small, so once you've had your beer, you're just watching the walls. In my opinion, it's a great little in & out place on the square to pop in and have a beer before going off to do/see/eat something else. read more

This place is the bomb!! Great idea for a perfect location. The Gainesville square is long overdue for a growler store. Great selections, some modestly priced and usually some that are expensive but are the "once in a lifetime" beer. Seem to emphasize real man beer like ales, porters, and stouts. Besides being a growler store, Downtown Drafts was a great place to hang out with friends for an afternoon! They have plenty of big tables, board games to play, and a couple of TVs. The four beers in my flight, recommended/endorsed by Aimee, did not disappoint. (Chocolate orange porter? Amazing!) Can't wait to come back! read more

I totally forgot to mention (probably because I was only looking for alcohol containing beverages) they also serve Abita Root Beer on draft. That's just another plus.
