Being a new dog owner, I'm not sure what qualifies a Dog Park as 5-Stars. I've only been to a few…read more(all here in Gwinnett county), and each was equally nice. Harbins Dog Park has three large fenced areas. One for small dogs, one for families with mixed sizes and one really large area for big dogs. The openings to each area have two gates to ensure your dog doesn't make a break for it and the small dog area has playground equipment for the little fellas! All have a shaded sitting area for owners, doggie water fountain, plastic bag dispensers and garbage cans. There is also a paved track that loops around the football field and doggie park. What makes Harbins Dog Park particularly nice is its location. A secluded area on the opposite side of the football field with its own parking. On days where there are no other dogs, we find ourselves watching as cars pull up to see if our little rascal will have a small playmate or if its a larger dog... and he watches too! We either say, "Yaaay, here comes a friend to play!" and he goes bananas or "Sorry, no playmate" and he shrugs it off as if to say "oh well!" I swear he seems to understand! Is that weird or is that a dog park thing? I'm so new to all of this I have no idea what's normal. NOTE: There are reports (on the park Facebook page) that some owners dogs have been aggressive and the owner did not manage their aggression, but so far in 8 visits there have been no serious incidents that I've witnessed. We did have a little weenie dog try to attack our little guy just seconds after walking through the gate, but the owner was quick to react. Downhill from the doggie and football area you'll find a toddler playground, open fields for family sports, restrooms, and a 1 mile paved loop trail. Overall, a very quiet little area for those who don't care to walk the more populated area of Harbins Park just up the road. 2018/67

Most of the time people are in the proper area, but every once a while you get someone with a medium dog inside the small dog area. When you have a few dogs in there under 10 pounds that can be a little intimidating for them LOL They have little areas where you can grab a recycled grocery bag to clean up your dogs Pooh. You can also bring extra bags you have at home to fill and replace the ones being used. There are always people here with their dogs. It's such a great little area if your dog is social or if you're trying to get him social.

I feel safe parking my vehicle and it's really great that they keep the park really clean and you don't have to worry about random trash. I appreciate it because I lived in an area before where I had to always walk my dog around trash.

Lenora Park has plenty of beautiful green space to spread out blankets for relaxing or reading, paved walking trails, a fishing lake, community garden, softball fields, disc golf course, separate dog parks for large and small dogs, pavilion, grill, playground, restrooms and a 2 court gymnasium for basketball and pickleball. There's also a seasonal pool. I go here often just to enjoy nature and being outdoors weather permitting. I especially enjoy walking in Lenora Park during the Fall season as it's beautiful to see the many trees changing colors. Lenora park is also my go to location for early voting. Lenora Park is about to undergo some major improvements with revitalizing and expanding the gym into a community recreation center that will have a dance studio, art classroom, kitchen and will include an upper-level balcony with a two-way walking track. I'm excited and looking forward to seeing the progress while on my walks in the park.

Do not walk barefoot in the sand unless you enjoy getting your feet sliced up and a bank breaking hospital bill. I had rubber flip flops on the whole time and told my family to wear theirs. Then, the whole beach area isn't open?? They cordoned off most of the water area, except for one sandbar and maybe 75 feet of water across from the entry sand area to the back area on the other side which narrowed to like 40 feet. The exposed sandbar which you were allowed to walk on had what looked like goose droppings all over it. There is very little space to play or wade without bumping into someone with it being cordoned off, and the section of water that is open just looks like a big bowl of muddy water because the cordoned off area is far away from the waterfall and streams that it doesn't get as much movement aside from people. Between the droppings all over the sandbar, broken glass, close proximity of multiple people in that tiny area, it's just asking for a visit to the hospital due to some infection. You do have to pay a fee per person and idk where that money goes, needs more maintenance. It's a shame, the beach area has potential. We will not be going back.
