We are in town from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and are members at our local YMCA there. This one is a part of the reciprocal program. We loved to be able to come in and swim some laps in the lap pool and also spend some time in the warm pool. The staff at multiple desks were wonderful and we even lost something that was found and turned in that they returned to us. So great we could be here on our normal membership. Great value for the members. Only suggestion is the lockers in the men's room need sanded and painted maybe? Just a little rusty. All else was fantastic! read more

While visiting for the weekend it was great to be able to get a nice workout from one of the trainers during their Saturday After Burn class. The staff was awesome and the facility was nice. The handball rooms are nice too. I really enjoyed it and I look forward to visiting again. read more

After joining, a YMCA trainer gently lead me through the free weights to recommend each one to regenerate my 79 year old worn out body. Now 1.5 years of exercising M, W, F I am alive and stronger, more fit. Such nice, friendly people exercising and working at the Y. I should have joined years ago. I have been going here since January (use to go to Hixson). I like this one a little better because it is bigger and more spread out with more equipment. I only use the weights and aerobic equipment (and that is more than enough for me . The men's locker room has a sitting area with coffee (no beer), plenty of lockers, sauna (dry and steam), showers and they provide towels. It is 3 levels with workout equipment (lots) on the 3rd level. The men's locker room, entrance, a childcare area (looks nice), and some vending machines and sitting area/offices. I honestly have not been to the lower level, but I know the pool is there and who knows, maybe the women's locker room? Everyone working there is friendly and helpful. I avoided going here in the beginning because I thought it parking would be a problem. However, they have parking on site and if it is full, you can park in the garage next door and the Y will pick up the costs. Before this Corona scare, I found the parking lot pretty full in the mornings (8AM) but never had to use the parking garage. They are open now, but locker rooms are closed (not sure about pool) so I just dress to sweat and go home and shower. Parking right now is not a problem. When you arrive, they check your temperature and if normal, you can go in. I wipe down my machines (always have) but I notice the employees were wiping down machines routinely. read more

I've been a YMCA member for a few years now with no issues. I recently started using this branch and I was very disappointed with the childcare worker this week. All together I probably use the child care option maybe once a week, this woman's negative energy and attitude is making me rethink my membership altogether. read more

I've always loved the Y. I grew up going to one near my house, sometimes for summer camp or sometimes to pick up a community basketball game. The downtown location now has the best personal trainer I've ever heard of, Caitlin Scott, and electrolyte-infused water for sale. Both needed during most work weeks. And my membership fee was adjusted when I got laid off at the beginning of the year. Can't beat that kind of customer service. read more

SO many activities for kids, especially the older ones. Love they have a whole kid friendly floor. Great place for a rainy day with kids.

If you're ever in Chattanooga and need to get in a workout, this place is it. Great service, huge place. They have everything.

I love this gum. They have everything you could ever need for a good workout, the people are friendly, and the staff is helpful without being high pressure. They have 2 pools, a spin room, racquetball, a basketball court, and 2 aerobic studios. Parking can be an issue, but there is a deck next door that's free to members. All in all, it's a great deal. Plus you can go to 5 different locations, so you're close to a Y no matter what part of town you're in. read more

I love the downtown location and staff is real friendly. They also do a lot of charitable things for folks in need. Those are the positives. The negatives: it's not very clean and needs some deep cleaning, a lot of old equipment, lots of high pressure to pay for personal training, which is quite expensive, not impressed with the hours, and open late on Sunday's because of holding church in the lobby. Church needs to be held in church, not a gym I'm paying to exercise in. Oh, another good point is no contract! read more

PLENTY of parking, they do your gym laundry EVERY DAY, TV's on each pc of exercise equipment, 2 Pools, Sauna, Steam Room, Raquetball, Basketball ..... this place is amazing. read more

This YMCA is an asset to the area with lots of different services and amenities. There's a huge indoor pool with lots of classes, a variety of daily exercise group classes, personal training available, a huge fitness room with great weight and cardio equipment, racketball, basketball, etc courts, full locker rooms with saunas and steam room. http://ymcachattanooga.org/page/locations/downtown/downtown The building is in decent shape. It's a bit dated, but they do a good job of keeping it clean and renovating when needed. I think their last renovation was within the past 5 years. You can get a free day pass for your first visit. Otherwise, it's $10 for an adult day pass which gives you full access. read more

Recently went here for a birthday party and I have to say for the amount of money they charge for monthly membership this place is NOT worth it. Yes it's big but obviously old and there is dust everywhere especially under the exercise machines Upstairs. Some of their toilets were nasty and I did not want to use the showers in the women's youth locker room because the drains were so gross. Over all the whole locker room had a smell. The pool was nice so I give it two stars but I have to say pass on this one. read more

I think the preschool is great! My son has gone there for 3 years and we both have loved everything about it. They go by the books, they did incident reports, made phone calls, emails and even texts to keep me informed of closings, special events , meetings etc. The teachers and staff are always very friendly. The teachers maybe young but they are very knowledgeable, and most of them have degrees. I hate that Friday will be my son's last day, we will miss everyone so much, but we will still visit. read more
