Going downhill fast. Many machines are broken for months on end, I'm guessing they won't be fixed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Locker room is filthy, broken ceiling tiles and water leaking in, trash and toilet paper all over the floors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Showers are filthy and many of the shower heads are busted off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] On more than one occasion there have been no towels because they have problems with the washer and dryer. Since new ownership, prices jumped 30-50% overnight with zero notice, equipment stays broken, and management is unprofessional--mocking member concerns instead of fixing problems. I was a charter member and have been there since the place opened. They don't care about making members happy. I have been a member of Sports Barn since 1986. Sports Barn used to be the best gym in Chattanooga, however; these places had been sold a few times and now Sports Barn North has a new owner. The place is absolutely horrible, the equipment's are over 20 years old and 40% of those either not working properly or not working at all. in the summer the air conditioner hasn't worked well at all (temperature reached up to 85*in there). If you are thinking to become a member of Sports Barn north, make sure to work out a week there before joining. read more

We were greeted by the Membership Consultant, Stephanie, who told us membership options and gave us a tour of the facility. I moved to Chattanooga from Tampa and was looking for a new gym home. After testing a few others in the area, I landed on Sports Barn. I've been very happy! Never too crowded and I love the membership commitment because it keeps big crowds during peak seasons away. You've really got to want to be here. The pool, sauna, and hot tub are lovely perks. Hixson location has precisely two treadmills with televisions. Only one of those televisions actually work. Some of the dumbbells at this gym look like rats have gnawed all the rubber off, these weights have clearly never been replaced. The music played on the loudspeakers? Literally the best of the 1980s. My wife and I have been a member for the long haul and I love this gym. The trainers and teachers are top notch and create unique programs that do not get stale or repetitive. They strive to make sure the facility stays clean and organized. They also have various aspects within a customer's reach such as physical therapy and crossfit for an extra fee. After relocating to Chattanooga, the search for a new gym began shortly thereafter. Commuting to a gym membership can be a daunting commitment, but after checking around, We decided on sportsbarn. One of the great benefits of being a sports barn member is there are three convenient locations throughout Chattanooga to choose from. Although I have been to and enjoy the other two locations, the Hixson location is my favorite. It's seems a little newer with high ceilings and wide open spaces to workout, while the other locations seem to be older facilities and can get cramped easily between all the machines. The gym is always clean, the staff is friendly and always busy cleaning throughout. They have a huge variety of fairly new equipment and lots of space if you're looking for a private space to work out. This location is never really too packed either and I enjoy the outdoor pool and bigger whirlpool for after workout relaxation. There is always plenty of convenient parking available and not too much traffic in this area, which can sometimes be a deterrent when visiting the other locations. read more
