What a find, a mechanic you can trust. My sister and dad also go here and after getting outrageous quotes from dealers I finally figured I need to give Downtown Auto Care a try. He told me the $2000 or so dollar quote was unnecessary so I have send all of our cars to DAC. I appreciate the honesty and superb value provided. The work is great and I don't have to try to figure out if I am being ripped off. I am just bummed I did not start coming here sooner. Just a note that DAC is closed on the weekends so I just figured out I would drop my car off and then pick it up a few days later when I had the chance. read more

I have gone to this guys several times to inquire about service, they always make excuses on why they don't this or that or that it's not their area expertise ??? So I don't know what's up with this shop? read more

I highly recommend this place. I had overheated engine (due to my local mechanic's mistake opened cap for water) I was up in the apple farm with my son and had no idea what to do. We were panicking. I drove the car down to this place. Mr. Dave was so kind and helpful. (explained what went wrong) and fixed it right away. It's so hard to find honest people like him these days. Thank you for your kindness and I am definitely going back to the apple farm to enjoy the whole experience next time. read more

I called Dave short notice to have a vehicle inspected before purchase. Dave took time to not only go over the vehicle thoroughly he also provided and schooled me with so much knowledge in the auto world. Dave's the kind of guy to have your back..there's no better feeling than for a client to have a no bs transparent explanation on your vehicle. I highly recommend his shop to everyone. Dave and his team have not only earned my upmost respect but restored some faith back into humanity. Much respect to you Dave! Thank you and I wish you nothing but happiness to you and your family. read more

I am a woman who is dependent on a mechanic to tell me the truth. I felt something was wrong with my car and I went to Felix Auto to see what was wrong. They told me I needed all new struts and new mounts. Estimate over 2.000. I called Dave, and he immediately said "I doubt it needs new struts, bring it in" He drove my car and said, Transmission mount needs to be replaced. $350.00. It took a couple of days for him to get me in, but......he did and the final total was 242.00. He saved me a lot of money, and I am grateful. I read more

Went a while ago to get my jeep repaired, while meeting the guy he wouldn't even shake my hand, made smart remarks, and just was rude overall. In the end I decided to find another mechanic that had proper manners at the end of the day. read more

Dave is one of the absolute best mechanics I have been to in a long time! He understands VW exceptionally well, fixed up my 1965 VW Beetle and now it runs excellent! Prices are very reasonable and he guarantees all his work to be done right! Stop in and check it out yourself! read more

The owner Dave is awesome. Come and stay and talk cars or motorcycles with him. He's honest and has great workers. I recommend bringing them some donuts while you wait. Haha. He does have a refrigerator with water if you want one. When you find a good automotive place, stick with them and this is one you can full trust in. read more

Dave and his staff are a God send. My wife and I were traveling back to Arizona and right before we were about to get on the i10, we heard a noise on the front driver side wheel. We saw Downtown Auto Care and decided to stop in to see what it was. Dave looked at it and said our plate behind the caliper was rubbing against the rotor. In 30 minutes, he adjusted the plate properly, checked the other 3 tires, then we were back on the road home to Arizona. I can't thank Dave and his staff enough for what they did for us as we were worried it was a major problem and we wouldn't make it back home. I would definitely recommend this GEM of an Auto Care shop to anyone having problems with their car!! read more

Dave was incredible this morning...he checked out our vehicle en route to LA and treated us so fairly and with respect! We will always stop here again for our vehicle needs! Outstanding customer service! From the drivers of the 'not old' 2002 Infinitii! read more

Dave was very professional great stand up guy honest friendly I thought I had major brake and front end issues but his staff check out my car found the problem to be minor resolved the issue and didn't even charge me! I would highly recommend Downtown Auto, found my mechanic for life! read more

Highly impressed with the service! Just a heads up: Pay with cash or check. Do not pay with a card. The 3.5-4% card fee can be quite expensive. For me, it was about $24, which was quite distressing since I'm trying to raise a child on a part-time salary. But the owner was so kind and graciously reimbursed my fee out of his own pocket. So please consider using cash or check for ALL small businesses, since card companies prey on these businesses with their substantial fees. And why incur a fee when you could just take a minute to write a check for free? On another note: A+ service. They were able to take my car same-day, unlike three other auto shops that I had previously called. Then they ordered the part that I needed and did a complicated installation in just two business days! So grateful for Downtown Auto Care! read more

I stop by to ask a couple questions. Believe Ryan was his name , he was very helpful and knowledgeable about cars .

Dave is a great guy and found the issue with my wife's 2005 Colorado Z71. She could smell gas when not in motion. She even had a dealership check it. They could not find an issue. Dave kept the vehicle overnight and found it the next day. He fixed the issue and no more problems. Highly recommended. If you are experiencing an issue of any kind, Dave and this location is guy to take your vehicle too. read more

This is a very honest mechanic! I took my car here this morning because the 'check engine light' came on and Ryan was very honest and nice. Its good to find an honest auto repair place! read more

I have been going to Dave for many years to take care of my vehicles. He has kept my Chevy HHR running well for 198k miles! The first time I went to Dave I was stressed. I didn't know him, no references but something led me there. He was busy. I needed my car to be fixed by Friday, or I would miss out on selling my jewelry at an event. He said, "he would see what he could do". I thought well if it gets done it gets done. Knowing that many other places had disappointed me before with coming in on time with repairs. Dave called me later that same day. He told me he knew how important it was for me to make it to my show so I could work. He would see me first thing Friday morning! Then he told me how much it was going to be ... it was less than I was expecting. So double good! Dave calls me Thursday afternoon and tells me my car is ready... then he tells me the bill is less then the cost I was quoted! Less people... it's not a mistake what you just read. Now it wasn't hundreds less, it wasn't a giant repair... more like a couple hundred dollar repair that is gonna keep you from driving your car repair. The point is this. The experience I just told you about is similar to the one I have every time I go to his shop. I never worry that he is going to take advantage of me financially. I don't worry that he is going to add on repairs just because he knows... the only thing I can tell him sometimes is, "she just isn't happy... there's a weird noise". I know he will do his best to get my car for me as quickly as he can because he knows those are my only wheels. He will also be honest with me that I need additional things done as soon as I can afford them if I can't get it done now. I appreciate how he has worked with me so much. I will continue to drive my car out to him from the desert! Just like last week when my sensors went out! Thanks to you and the guys who work with you for doing a great job! read more

Great service, very friendly and understanding. What honest gentlemen they were! They told us what was best to do in our situation. These guys helped us out a ton when we were in a bind! Would absolutely recommend anyone to go to them. Thank you guys!! read more

I had a couple of the same bad experiences mentioned by other customers. I thought I'd found an honest, friendly mechanic for myself and several elder friends who got hosed by 3 other Beaumont shops. Not sure what caused Dave to be pissed off at me, but his remarks were brutal and unprofessional. Part replaced and when acted up again 2 months later, Dave blew me off. No warranty on parts? Work? I guess Dave can afford to lose customers. Note: I did however like his young mechanic who was friendly, polite and knew his stuff. I won't be going back to Downtown Auto Repair. FOLLOW-UP COINCIDENCE: same day I wrote this first review I'm having oil changed at NOT Downtown Auto Repair where a woman customer asked me if I've ever been to Downtown AR. I tell her my nightmare experience there and she commences to tell me she was just there and Dave was so rude to her, she left. He complained that 'she' always comes at lunch hour...it was 2pm and she had NEVER been there before. read more

Had my truck worked on several occasions. A/C fan no problem, Exhaust leak no problem. Knock sensor HUGE PROBLEM.. Tried and replaced 2 times, after that no more help, basically didn't want or even allude to taking the next step.. No offer to replace the sensor with OEM to make sure the AFTERMARKET POS was actually the culprit. Will not take any of my vehicles back EVER. Small town mentality Bill read more

Dave has been taking care of my vehicles since 2000. Did not want to give me my warrenty on my waterpump that he installed that failed prematurely until i showed him my reciept. Tried to say it was 21000 miles or 2 year warrenty when reciept said 24000 miles or 2 year warrenty. My car was under 2 years bur over 21000 so he was trying to play a smooth one on me. When I got my car back my harmonic balancer was damaged and it was making a weired sound that it didnt when i took it in. Saw on you tube you have to take that part out to get to the water pump. I had to change that out myself along with the idler pully and tensioner that got messed up along with it. I would never go back to him he is always grouchy and doesnt care about his customers at all.!! read more

DONT GO ANYWERE ELSE! Life Lesson learned the hard way....... I had my backyard mechanic in Morongo Valley claim he had over 30 years of experience and I have used him before with no problem, so when my engine was toast he replaced it with a reman on a 2001 Toyota Camery. Half way through this nightmare and getting the impression that were just throwing parts at the car, múltiple sensors, relay's and new radiator, he tells me he cant get the cooling fans to come on. Long story, sort of short I had to take it to the Toyota dealership to troubleshoot his f*** up. Thanks to Toyota and Dave with DownTown Auto he fixed a coolant leak and found that the Thermostat was clogged with what we believe was some pour in sealant?. In a short time Dave was able to fit me in and had me up and running and back on the road again in a very short amount of time. He saved me from having to rent a car.and rebuild my belief that yes there are good Mechanic's out there that REALLY know there trade and prove it, instead of just talk. Dave is a Upstanding, Honest, Strightforward, Easy going, NO Bullshit kind of mechanic that will listen to you and you can put your trust in. I look forward to working with him again and have confidence in his abilities on any of my vehicles in future. Thank You Dave read more
