I've been shopping at this supermarket for about 3 years and never felt uncomfortable until today. I came in with my brother-in-law to buy tortillas while I looked around for another item I needed. While I was simply browsing the store and checking prices, the older lady at the register approached me with a rude attitude asking, "What do you want?" When I explained we originally came for tortillas but they didn't have the item I needed, she responded rudely saying, "He already buy," while continuing to stare at me suspiciously like I was going to steal something. I understand employees need to pay attention to the store, but there's a respectful way to speak to customers. I genuinely felt judged based on my appearance and tattoos, which was disappointing considering I've supported this place for years. Nobody should be made to feel uncomfortable just for browsing a store. Customer service and respect matter. I hope management addresses how customers are treated because experiences like this make loyal customers not want to come back. read more

Purchased 8 chicken legs from this market for caldo de pollo. After 30mins of cooking, brown cartilage started floating through the broth, smelled interesting.. and tasted spoiled. Ruined my caldo de pollo. Called the store to for a refund, the cashier was not shocked, acted as if this was a normal thing. Did not apologize. Offered to only reimburse me for only the chicken legs but not my entire bill for the vegetables. Terrible customer service. Disgusting meat up keep. read more

But the truth is, I've never bought any groceries from here. So you may ask yourself..."Self, why in God's name is he writing a review and a 5 star at that?!?" My answer - the BBQ cooked in front of the store and sold by the market. Oh my gosh. Ribs (spare, beef, baby back), whole chicken, tri tip, grilled corn, cactus, grilled potatoes, yams, etc. All this at a very reasonable price. Want it just seasoned or washed down in BBQ? If I could rate this place a zero I would. There's a young female that has an unprofessional behavior towards customers. I saw her yell to a client in line because she forgot her mask in the car, she told her to get out of the store and to leave in front of everyone in line. The poor lady was just standing there. I felt so embarrassed for her. I will never come back to this store again, I will take my hard working money to a store that respects their customers. I really hope people will read my review and take their businesses to a place that respects their customers. Please go to Luis Meat Market the staff is wonderful and they know how to treat their customers. You will also see better prices, the place is much cleaner and the meat is super fresh. Don't judge a book by it's cover. From the outside, this market looks like a dive! On the inside very neat and clean! It has a huge deli with a large salsa bar and hot dishes such as chili verde. Extremely helpful and service oriented employees! Great selection of tortillas such as Diana's. Salsa bar also has excellent guacamole. Home made chips by the bag. Prices are very reasonable! This has now become my weekly stop. Planning to stop by and get dinner for the family tomorrow. I brought several bags of chips, salsas and guacamole to a part of 60 - what a HIT! Everyone wanted to know where this place is. Keep it up - this place ROCKS! I have been there 4 times in the past 2 weeks and it is always packed. This small shop has small things you can need for your carne asada, drinks and such. What brings me here is the weekends! They have a huge bbq out on weekends when it does not rain. Everything is cooked out and sold by pound. Fresh, Healthy and mmm good! Oh and cheap! They carry chicken sold by 1/2 or or whole $7, brisket $7lb., ribs $6lb., and links $1 ea... ALL good! If I could give 0 stars I would. I live across the street and have gone here for several years. Many times I've bought spoiled food and produce that ends up being rotten once I cut into it. Today I went because I needed something last minute, and the workers there have horrible customer service. One of the employees was paying for something and let one of her friends cut in front of everyone waiting in line. They chatted for a few minutes disregarding anyone else in the store. I got down to the second to last piece and I found a huge piece of BANDAGE stuck on the meat, I was so grossed out. This place has great bbq outside. Saturdays and sundays 10-7pm. They have chicken, tri tip, ribs, pork links, corn and potatoes. Dont forget to stop by the deli- you can grab some beans and rice and you got the whole shabang!! read more
