There only a handful of flooring stores and none of them stock rug pads, including Home Depot. Kat answered the phone at Swell City Carpet with a cheerful hello. After listening to my request, she told me if I placed the order before noon, their warehouse in Odell would include the pad on their delivery at 1pm, same day. What? Price was a bit higher than online but totally worth it for the convenience. Friends are coming to help move the furniture so we can put down the new rug properly and I don't want to go through the hassle again when a rug pad would arrive. This makes it a one and done. Or do it right the first time! While there I checked out the small, but well represented store. An entire section dedicated to different types of hardwood floor, tile and carpet. A section for paint and all the supplies needed if you are doing it yourself or a contractor. Plus lots of hardware store items. Located right on Cascade Avenue a few blocks east of Safeway, its an easy stop when you are running errands. Oh, and Kat even carried the rug pad to my car! Much appreciated.

I made 2 purchases in this place, not at the same time, and multiple trips ,that make me comfortable to say, ask for Gerry, other than that you will receive an awful service from the other sales personnel (Gerrys kids), you can really tell they are there just for a paycheck and have no concept of customer service in person or over the phone. As far as the product, it is cheaper than your usual furniture stores, but it sells as is, no guarantees, so if u get a product that got damaged either on the warehouse, delivery or that's how they make it, your stuck with it. So be aware you get what you pay for‍

Yes, they do! One person's oddity is another's treasure. The first floor has shelves loaded with dishes, glass wear and serving pieces. All arranged by color or designer or function. Clearly they care about how items are presented and it makes it so much easier for the customer. For example, there was an entire shelf filled with depression era green glass dishes and serving pieces. No need to hunt, it's right there for the taking. On this floor there are also lots of books, dvds and albums. Vintage clothing, some beau winter coats and jackets amongst the collection. If you, your man or child wants cowboy boots, there are dozens and dozens in every size! Wow! An amazing collection. A wall of wooden masks, beads you can scoop for $5 a bag, statues, knives, tools, paintings, toys, the list goes on and on! Downstairs is where they have the majority of furniture from near and far. Some truly beautiful carved wooden pieces and doors, just waiting for the right customer. Those working there were busy arranging items but always greeted me and offered help. There are several sections that you can tell are collections by individual sellers. Unlike some of the reviewers, I did not see the Nazi memorabilia and I'm glad I didn't. While we need to learn and understand history so we don't repeat it, I fear that some may collect this crap for the wrong reasons. Hopefully it was removed based on the feedback from those reviewers. If I had seen it, I would have gone straight to the owner or workers with my concerns since not all owners read Yelp reviews. Located right across the bridge from Hood River, there are plenty of parking spots out front. It's a fun place to stop, I needed an hour as there is so much to see that time goes fast.
