Although there were options online, they all took weeks to ship. I had looked in Portland and all over the Gorge. I found what I was looking for at a fair price at Hampton's. They really went above and beyond my expectations when they moved a heavy piece of furniture to a different room to make room for the new furniture. Hampton's met my needs while the internet could not. THANK YOU!

tl;dr King size "firm" mattress bought Jan 16th, 2021, from Hampton Furniture in The Dalles now has…read morea deep depression where I lay causing low back and knee pain and lack of sleep (3.5 hrs). Wife and I were excited to replace our old memory foam mattress with a $689 Beautyrest BR800 Firm mattress (King size) -- I needed the firmness for my low back and knees since the old bed had eventually after 7 years created a depression deep enough to hurt me (I'm 6'2" at 210lbs). The first two weeks on this bed my low back pain and knee pain I would experience at night that would follow me through out the day went away -- the bed was firm and was exactly what I needed. However, entering the third week I started noticing a small depression on my side of the bed. By the beginning of the fourth week the depression was deeper and the pain in the lower back and knees had returned. I'm now in the fifth week wishing I had never bought this poorly designed low-end of a mattress. I tried going to bed around 9, positioning my body to lie around the depression while not crowding my wife's side (she is 5' and much lighter and her side of the bed is ok). The firmest part on my side of the bed is the very edge of the mattress where the seam is. I try laying half on the edge and half hanging over the edge. And while this does support my body better, I cannot hold this precarious position for long for fear of falling backwards off the mattress and onto the floor. I woke up shortly after 4am unable to fall back to sleep. I got up and stood at the foot of my bed and pushed down on the mattress with my hands where my feet rest -- firm like when we tested the bed in the store. I then moved over to where my mid section lies in the bed at night and pushed down there -- deep, yielding depression with no sense of firmness. I'm sad that after the past two years of planning and saving up money for this mattress that I threw it all away on Hampton Furniture's Beautyrest BR800 "Firm" mattress. Should I have gone to a mattress store in Portland? NOTE: We also bought two dark stained end tables the day we got the mattress. It came with embedded power strip (USB ports included) and we love how strong the wood feels, the ease of plugging in our phones at our bedside, and how handsome it looks. We recommend the tables at Hampton Furniture in The Dalles. If all we bought was the tables, we would have given this review a 5 star.

A little after 3 we received a call telling us they were running 3 hours late and asked if we still wanted it delivered. Told them yes, we need a mattress. At 9:30pm they show up, put the mattress on the bed upstairs and left. I looked at the mattress as they were leaving our driveway and I could see they delivered the wrong mattress, it looked like a queen sitting on king box springs. I called the store the next morning and Justin (sales rep) he apologized and said he would look into and call me back. About 2 hours later the delivery company called, not Justin, and said it would be delivered around 5pm. Later, received another call that it would be delivered between 7-9pm. I didn't want to do this again and felt that after the prior evening we should be a priority so I called Justin. Justin apologized and explained that sometimes called in sick, they had to use a delivery company, our mattress was on the delivery truck, etc... I told him that I wasn't happy and didn't want another late night delivery. He said that one of their customer relations people would be contacting us and try to make things right, maybe give us free sheets or something. An hour later we got a call from the delivery company and they were on their way. Still no call from anyone at Mattress World. All of the communication was prompted by me or the 3rd party delivery company.

Their salesperson Devin was exceptional and extremely helpful and friendly. We brought in our two kids, and our youngest was antsy from all day shopping..but Devin encouraged them to have some fun while there & even shared stickers! Such a cool thing! Who knew mattress shopping could be fun & educational. Devin asked us about our other options we had been looking at, wanting to meet us for our mattress type & budget and wants, and he did just that. We found a great mattress that feels great, and at an amazing price. Even ready for pick up tomorrow! Bonus points for this shopping experience because during the factory tour we learned they make custom mattresses for trailers and I cannot WAIT to come back and have them upgrade the current pile of foam DIY I put together in our camper.
