I can't say enough good things about Downey Plumbing Heating & Air, especially Carlos and Omar. We had a pretty serious drain emergency that turned into a very stressful situation. We had sewage backing up into our crawl space, so I called Downey Plumbing Heating & Air and they sent Carlos out to diagnose the problem. From the beginning, Carlos was professional, thorough, respectful, and really took the time to understand what was going on. He also recommended a great cleaning service to help deal with the sewage in the crawl space, which was incredibly helpful given the situation we were dealing with. Carlos came back to take care of the drains, and he did an amazing job. He was extremely thorough and made sure the problem was actually addressed rather than just putting a temporary fix on it. Omar was also great to work with and I really appreciated the professionalism and care from both of them throughout the process. I'm extremely happy with the work and would absolutely recommend Downey Plumbing Heating & Air. Thank you Carlos and Omar!! read more

I have just heard one of the dumbest reasons for not providing services than I have heard in many many years. I gave owned real estate, primary homes, rental properties, I represent clients with numerous properties and yet the reason for lack of service ranks right up there with complete stupidity. I called to have my personal AC serviced due to the fact that it needs it as indicated by it blowing warm air. I scheduled the appointment made it a point to be here and 10 minutes before the last possible time to show up I get a call and some urchin tells me they don't service homes that are on the market. Isn't one of the reasons for servicing is that you are putting it on the market and need to comply with inspections? When I aske why, the urchin replied that it was company policy, no other explanation. That is frankly one of the absolute dumbest answers I could have expected. So if they are that afraid to do a home that will be sold does that mean they do a shoddy job that will not pass inspection? Does mean they do not even trust their own work? Or are they just plain ignorant. Whatever the reason, I would not take a chance on hiring them for anything that may eventually need an inspection. I'm sure they would raise a defense against any claim that they did not know the property would be sold. Does this mean they never do work for contractors who are building homes? I don't care what the rest of the reviews say. You should never hire someone that afraid of someone checking their work read more

I've been meaning to do a review of Downey Plumbing, but one thing led to another and I was busy and never did it. Well almost a year after we received service from DP I am finally doing the review. In July of 2025 our mainline from the city water meter leaked and we had water coming from it and leaking down the street. Because it was the pipe from our pipe not the city's pipe, we were responsible for fixing it. We had work done by DP before and felt they were competent and reasonably priced, so we contacted them again. The person on the phone set up an appointment for a plumber to come by to that very day. Talk about prompt service. A plumber named German came by, gave his assessment and said the office will email and estimate. I was okay with the price, and the next day German came back. He brought another plumber to work on the job with him. The other plumber was Omar. Both German and Omar are very pleasant people and very competent. They gave me an estimate of how long it would take to fix, which may have been five or six hours, if I remember but I think it took about four hours. They had to break the concrete on our property and dig the dirt out, repair the leak by replacing the pipe with a new one, and fill the dirt back in and repour the concrete. Well, they finished and everything was perfect. After nearly a year we so far have had no problems. I'm glad the whole process was fast from first contact to finish because the longer it takes the more water leaks and the more money is spent on the water bill. I recommend Downey Plumbing. They have excellent service, fair prices, excellent plumbers, excellent customer service and do great work. read more

Aaron & Omar came out to fix all of my plumbing drainage issues. Very polite, helpful and professional. Great job Can't recommend enough! read more

So on the last review, I did it because Roman and Omar was cool people but what wasn't cool was how we smelled gas in the days following. I ended up calling emergency gas company to check it out and they did and rectified the situation, a loose valve. I contacted the owner who commented and said he would do something but we all know he didn't do..... I won't use them again let's just say that for putting me and my kids at risk! I know mistakes happen but not when u paying Professionals! read more

With the recent heat... our AC stopped cooling properly out of nowhere, and with children in the home I was scrambling to get someone out as soon as possible. I reached out to schedule services here and the receptionist Alyssa made this process so smooth for me. She was incredibly kind and helpful in getting everything scheduled quickly and understanding the urgency of my situation.. She turned this stressful of a situation into one where I felt assured, and if you have multiple kids with no AC... you can only imagine how I needed that. So not only was I able to get services quickly at a good value but her customer service was exceptional I just had to leave a review. read more

With the extreme heat, my heat pump RTU was overworking and started leaking condensation through my roof. I had to shut it down immediately and find a fast repair. I reached out to multiple service companies in the area. Although some companies had lower diagnostic fees, they were unavailable. Downey PH&AC had a fast response time and quickly scheduled someone to come out. The service technician took his time with the diagnostic and showed me pictures of the issues. He was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and provided me with different options. The repair cost, although steep, was fair considering the laundry list of services provided. Overall, he spent close to five hours working on my unit and even went to purchase additional parts to get everything up and running before leaving. He left my system running smoothly. He also added an extra opening eyebrow vent to the side of the RTU to address the obnoxiously loud return noise. I am quite pleased with the service and will definitely consider using them again for future repairs. read more

Christian Lopez was awesome. We called for water leaking and flowing from the water meter box outside the house and they sent a technician the same day. After working tirelessly in this hot weather to find the cause of the problem in and out of the house, he found the cause is on the side of the city and validated it's not our responsibility in spite of the repeated coming (from the previous week) of the city technician who insisted there's no problem with the meter box. Finally, the city technician found the leaking on the street side and will fix the problem. Christian was patient, persistent working until late looking for a problem, knowledgeable and kind. Thank you, Downey Plumbing!! read more

Was connected to a Tech who said he would come the following morning between a specific time and would call to notify before coming. **NO CALL, NO SHOW** I called the morning of the appointment again for service. Another tech nervously tells me it's $325 just to show up and look at the issue. I told them the leak was clearly identified, drywall had been removed, and the space around was clear. read more

Miguel from Downey Plumbing was fantastic. We were dealing with a gurgling toilet and feared an expensive repair, but Miguel took a methodical approach and always tried the least invasive option first. He explained everything step by step, was patient, honest, and never made us feel rushed. In the end, he found and removed a large root stem from the toilet line, saving us from a much more costly repair. We really appreciated his professionalism, transparency, and commitment to finding the right solution instead of the most expensive one. Thank you Miguel! read more

I had a really stressful plumbing issue come up in my bathroom right before a family gathering and I honestly didn't know what to do. I called in and spoke with the receptionist named Alyssa and she was absolutely amazing!! Despite the short notice and time crunch, she went out of the way to help me and was able to get a technician scheduled much sooner than expected. She was so kind and reassured me the issue could be resolved just in time for my party. I love how quickly everything was resolved and I recommend anyone in need of plumbing issues to give this place a shot! read more

I own and operate a facility for special needs adults. My units were in need of repair but worked perfectly. After an inspection by Downey Plumbing Heating and Air, the next morning, I was left with a non working unit. I received poor customer service and I was told by a supervisor that they were not at fault and refused to send a technician immediately to deal with the issue. I fully understand customer service working with families of those with special needs and this was by far one of my worst experiences with a company. There was no consideration nor did the supervisor address the fact that the technician was the only person to touch the unit the prior day. I told them that this is unacceptable and I hope no one experiences this like I did. They offered to send someone after my business hours and they showed no consideration. One star is probably too high of a rating. read more

Downey plumbing has not disappointed! They helped me with my home in Downey and did such an amazing job, I referred them to my mom and brother in Lakewood. Carlos not only provided amazing customer service, he was knowledgeable and fair. The couple times he came out with his crew, they showed the same customer service and respect for my mom's house (she also liked that they were very clean :)) No job was ever rushed and was done with pristine craftsmanship and professionalism. I'll definitely be calling Carlos/ Downey plumbing for all future plumbing/ AC needs. They don't feel like a corporate greedy company who's out just to do a half fast job at an extremely high price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! P.S I've already gave his number to co-workers and other family members! Thanks Carlos for taking care of my family! read more

Last week I made a call to Downey plumbing. I've lived in the area for years and have seen it many times but I was refereed by a neighbor because my heater stopped working. She made sure to have me attended to when she heard the worry in my voice. Thank you Downey plumbing! I highly recommend them now that I know how quick the service is . read more

Alberto did a great job installing our new heating/air conditioning unit. He was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Alberto evaluated our current unit and intake vent and provided a proposal that was very competitive. We really appreciated his no-pressure approach. He clearly explained everything that was going to happen and didn't try to upsell us or push any gimmicks (unlike some other people we spoke with). Communication was excellent. He was always quick to respond to our questions and kept us in the loop about our order status and installation date. Before he left, he went over the maintenance requirements so we know how to keep everything running smoothly. Everything is working great so far. We've used Downey before for plumbing problems and have always been pleased. This is our first time using them for HVAC as well and we're very happy with the experience. read more

We have an older foundation home with copper piping that springs frequent leaks. The insurance company will only pay to replace the section of piping that leaks so they send someone from Downey Plumbing to evaluate the leak. After the plumber inspects and reports to the insurance company it usually takes one or two days before Downey Plumbing can have someone come out and make the repair. In the meantime the leaky pipe keeps leaking. During the most recent leak Downey Plumbing sent Alecia to evaluate and repair the leak. Alecia provided excellent service! She was knowledgeable, courtious and did very good work in a timely manner, she patched the pipe so it could not keep leaking while we waited for her return visit. Excellent representation of Downey Plumbing's service Alecia! read more

I called this morning for water pooling in my front yard. They were able to schedule me for the afternoon. German came and was so friendly and was able to diagnose the problem quickly. It was a much smaller problem than I expected, the main line was blocked. He gave a fair quote and fixed the blockage within the hour. I cannot emphasize enough how kind and efficient everyone was. Highly recommend Downey Plumbing! read more

Had a leak in my pipe from my water meter to my house. My 3rd party insurance recommended and set up my service with Downey Plumbing! We had never used them before. They came out the next day and found the leak was between the house shit off and the meter. They set up an appointment to put in a special valve so the leak detector person could find the leak. They set up the appointment with the leak detector specialist. Then they coordinated all the utilities to come mark their lines. After, Axl set up our repair appointment. Axl was our plumber from the beginning of this ordeal to the end. Axl was very communicative, polite, professional, arrived on time, knowledgeable and did the repairs in a timely manner. Axl also cleaned up the area so nice. Axl was outstanding. Would definitely recommend Downey Plumbing to anyone. read more

I needed Downey plumbing over the weekend & as busy as they were, they managed to fit me in. I have a recurring problem (not their fault) & this time Joe came. Wow, was he ever good!! Called the owner, Joe, to let him know my water usage has gone up 718 gallons since his leak detector left, you can see the probe holes and hear the water running through the hole but since they determined the leak was already there they will not fix the pvd the detector damaged, causing water to gush more. He refused the technician to look at the piping, fix the pcs pipe broken from their leak detector, making my situation so much worse. Joe is a man with no regard to standing behind his work performed, fixing mistakes made. I have filed a complaint with the insurance company, hopefully they will make him be a honest, responsible man. read more

We used Downey Plumbing and Air Conditioning for a A/C leak in the attic. This was my first time using them and I was ever so pleased. This was a 4-day job. Which consisted of the following. They had to relocate the central AC unit in the attic as it was installed incorrectly years ago and not up to code. It caused the system to not be level and water pooled instead of draining. They replaced all the ductwork and repaired the coils. They also serviced the tankless water heater and installed a filter. The technicians on the job were Alberto A, Chris and Alberto N. They were knowledgeable and very polite. We would definitely recommend Downey Plumbing and air conditioning to others. read more

I left a message Tuesday night for a plumber to repair a frozen bathtub faucet. I got a call at 8:15 the next morning with a 10-4 service window. I got a call at 9:15 saying the technician was on the way. Marcus quickly evaluated the situation and left to get the parts. he returned quickly, fixed the problem, and respectfully answered all my questions. He was efficient and professional, and the problem has been resolved. The price was as expected. Thank you, Marcus. This is the second time I used Downey Plumbing and Heating. Downey Plumbing is by far the best plumbing company that has done work for us. We had a clogged double sink drain, as well as a leaking shower drain pipe. The company was able to assign us a plumber very promptly and provided updates on when the plumber would arrive. The assigned plumber, Alberto, also provided us with updates of his exact arrival time. Alberto was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. At one point, he had to go into our house's crawlspace to assess what was causing all of our problems. He then patiently explained the work that needed to be done, and he showed us photos he had taken in the crawlspace of our old corroded and leaking cast iron pipes. We appreciated his honesty and the fact the he did not try to up-sell us in any way. Alberto repaired the leaking pipes, unclogged the double sink drain, and later showed us the replaced parts and explained how the replaced parts were causing our problems. It was clearly evident that he made only necessary repairs, and it was equally clear that he took a lot of pride in his work. He was pleasant, efficient, and he cleaned everything up before leaving. In summary, Alberto was the best plumber who ever did work for us, and we will be asking the company to send him out to us again if we need any future plumbing work done. Alberto and Downey Plumbing are professionals who are everything that one could ask for. It was so refreshing to work with people who actually care about their customers. read more

Today, Wednesday 10/08/25, I have a service call concerning leaking water on the side of t home. My tech, Alicia Harris frOM Downey Plumbing came within the time I was told, and Alicia called when arrived. I showed Alicia the leak she immediately went in to assessing the situation, she knew what to do first and she seemed to have a feeling what the problem was just by looking at the leak. I was so impressed with her expertise and knowledge of plumbing. Even though I didn't have a contract with Home Serve for interior, Alicia gave me price on what it would take for Downey Plumbing to start the job to find and fix the actual problem. With people like Alicia that is kind and knowledgeable taking the time to explain what is going on with my leash. Downey Plumbing did when hiring Alicia. Great representation of Downey Plumbing.
