I'm a Picasso ceramics collector…read more On 1 January 2018 I bought a Picasso ceramic (very delicate and precious!) at Nadeau's Auction Gallery Inc (Windsor, CT) - Ref. Important Annual News Years Day Auction #1159. Mrs Tara Guilleaume of Nadeau's Auction Gallery Inc assisted me from the bid up to the receipt of my Invoice (I won a marvelous Picasso ceramic in their Auction!) and for the payment procedure. She has assisted me in a professional way and with quick answers. The ceramic is very beautiful and is very precious: it is in perfect condition! I am very satisfied with this purchase that I made at Nadeau's Auction Gallery Inc (Windsor, CT)! I will still participate in their auctions because they offer very interesting art objects. First, that stuff can be done online and has been possible for at least the last 20 years. And secondly, this stuff can easily be stolen when sent electronically. So they put the onus on you, the potential customer because they can't be bothered to join the 21st Century. And they are worried about being protected. Ahh, thanks hard pass for me. I called to verify this was the real case and it is. She thought the upside was you only have to do it once. Well let me see, if I need to do that every time I use a credit card, then I just won't do business there. I take credit cards for sales for business purposes in the thousands. No issues whatsoever.

This is a first class auction house, fair and solid. Highest recommendation, and I hope to do business with them again.

When items that are taken and in very good shape never show up after the sale I have a problem with the honesty of this place. When I called to inquire about a beautiful rocking chair that never showed on the paperwork I was given, I was told that rocking chairs don't sell so we put it in the dumpster. That is a lie! I had people wanting to buy that chair for years. This is only one example of how this place steals your things and sells them for themselves. Again, I can't stand a thief or a liar. I'm not a fan of asking "how much is this?" each time I see a piece that interests me. But I was quickly won over by the owner's friendly, hospitable and inviting demeanor. He explained that there is so much turnover in inventory, and so much of it, that it's a challenge to price everything quickly. Ok, cool! Doubt alleviated! As we ventured more deeply into this cavern filled with treasures, we discovered lots of cool pieces that struck a chord! The shadow box filled with badges and medals was alluring, and the sports memorabilia piqued my nephew's interest. The furniture was fabulous, many one-of-a-kind pieces that would surely add flair to any décor. There's also a case of figurines and knick knacks that would make cool conversation pieces. Another large display case held teapots, teacups & retro kitchenware. Everything was well appointed with little vignettes hither and thither on every table and shelf. We were quite mesmerized by the place. It was clean, well organized and intriguing. My daughter gathered several copper pots and containers for her collection, as well as an unusual brass unicorn spigot/faucet that was delightful! My niece perused the aisles while my sis-in-law and I spied the jewelry cases! I found some sterling silver & turquoise earrings along with a unique kite brooch of onyx and mother of pearl. Sis found a dainty pearl necklace, a strand of long cultured pearls, & a pretty pair of vintage cameo earrings. I loved Steve's willingness to wheel & deal and he made our day!! The prices didn't put a strain on our purses!! We left this shop chattering about what a fun experience it was to enter this enchanting establishment! I dare you to leave empty handed!

Oh my word the pies! I was fortunate enough to visit the auction with my family, and had heard about all of the unique, vintage finds that you can get there. I was intimidated to bid at first as I've never really been to an auction. But once I saw others do it, and how the ladies on the stage yell out the bid, I was entertained from the beginning and got into it. The owner/auctioneer Richard is quite funny. He livens the place up with his quirky comments and provides a non-threatening, overall fun environment. I came home with a side table, a white trunk, a box of silk scarves and several glass items. All for about $50. Love it! Although the auction is awesome, I do need to give a shout out to the pie maker. Holy cow. I've tried a cream pie and a fruit pie and both are to die for. Even if you don't want to buy anything, it's still worth coming just for the pie.
