I look forward to seeing many more features at your complex. ------------ --------- This is a PSA! Just trying to help out other innocent movie goers who are not aware of the PG-13 after-hours movie experience at Galleria. This post only represents one incident. I really like this movie theater, and this is the only negative incident I've experienced here. I've been coming here for about 2 years. I had two great PG-13 experiences at this theater: IT and Black Panther. Both features were viewed after 7:30 pm. Both viewings were fantastic interactive experiences with the other movie goers. So, when I recently went to watch a PG-13 movie, I was excited! Well, 2 hours later, I found myself in 'mom'-mode protecting a young lady from a movie theater full of kids. Don't even ask what the movie was about because I have no idea! I spent the entire movie having popcorn thrown on me, my seat being kicked, kids constantly walking in front of the movie screen, begging security/management to do something about the kids fighting in the theater, and basically making sure a young lady didn't get beat. The end result was a mob, several fights, police being called, me witnessing a young lady get punched in her head, and just pure madness! When I returned the next day, the manager on duty said that I should have approached them yesterday (the night of the event) to ask for my refund. She gave me some free tickets and also advised that maybe I shouldn't come to a PG-13 on the weekend after 7 pm. (Note: She was not one of the managers on duty the night before so she certainly did not understand the complete chaos that had ensued!) So here's the tip: I'm not telling you to avoid Galleria. I still go to the movies here. However, please Doomsday Prep for your movie experience if you want to view a popular PG-13 after 7 pm at this movie theater when school is out.

The only thing up to date about this theater is that the seats are numbered, so you get to choose your seat when buying your ticket. The website mentions they have a GTX theater that stands for Grand Theater Experience. I have yet to see that offered with any of the movies I've gone to see, but I would love to check it out. When ordering online, you have the option to order tickets through Fandango or Georgia Theater Company. Both options offer rewards, but I prefer fandango since I can use my rewards at any theater across the country who uses them. The ticket booth is a riot. There is one young man who usually manages the booth as you walk in, and he is hilarious. Great personality, and he will tell you all the important things to look out for like sneak peaks after the credits. GTC Houston Lakes is by far the best theater in a 20-mile radius.

Knowing downtown parking can be a whole event of its own, we arrived an hour early and scored street parking right across the street! The clear-bag policy was strictly enforced, so thankfully I came prepared. There were a lot of women who had to make the long walk back to their cars since they didn't get the clear bag memo. Security was quick and easy, with metal detectors, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The auditorium is spacious but definitely showing its age. Our floor seats were close to the stage, but the chairs weren't numbered. Instead, tiny papers on the floor told you which seats belonged in each row. For nearly $200 a ticket, I shouldn't have to count chairs like I'm doing inventory at a warehouse. Fortunately, the loose chairs made getting in and out of the row easy. The folks sitting in the balcony didn't look very comfortable and the seats were super close. I'm glad I paid the extra money for more comfortable seats. The restrooms downstairs were surprisingly clean. Concessions were limited, and our $5 popcorn came in a box that looked like it was on a diet. Drinks were available both on the main balcony and downstairs. Leaving was easy, with no major traffic mess. Overall, the venue could definitely use some TLC, especially the seating, but the staff, security, cleanliness, and location worked in its favor. I'd return for another show because this is one of the few venues in Macon that you can get tickets for good entertainment.

The popcorn tasted like cardboard and the cokes were flat. Don't expect a giant screen like a high end movie theater but it was still plenty big enough.
