Mr. Bailey (a cat) check up. The wife and I had Dr. Barnes look at Bailey as he was due for his check up and he had a urinary issue. Dr. Barnes was professional, knowledgeable and kind. Treated Bailey like her own cat and was very informative during the whole process. This was the first time we used this cat hospital. Great service, affordable and a great location with plenty of parking. We will be back again at baileys new cat hospital. I also noticed that she treats dogs as well.

The exam room is so homey and comfortable

Dr Lencewicz and the staff of DAH have been amazing. It is so hard to find rabbit savvy vets, but I always feel safe in their hands

Uxbridge Animal Hospital

In April of this year, we had to have our dog Louie euthanized because of lymphoma. It was…read moredevastating (our pets ARE our children). Uxbridge Animal Hospital did an amazing job making one of the worst days of our lives a little easier. We recommended them to all the pet owners we know. We adopted another dog soon after, Charlie. Charlie was loved unconditionally and was treated with the same love that we give his 6-month-old (human)brother. He was outside all day every day with my husband- he spent a lot of time training him, he even trained him to track in the woods. We had a crate set up in our room for him, but he slept in bed with us every night. When we first got Charlie, he had very sad eyes. We were able to change that. Unfortunately, Charlie chewed on a piece of plastic that he shouldn't have. His chewing was actually our biggest concern during his last checkup. We bought him all sorts of chew toys, and I would buy him bone marrow bones from the butcher in hopes it would keep him busy. We tried to make sure he wasn't able to get anything dangerous, but accidents do happen. Charlie became really sick all of a sudden. We called Uxbridge animal hospital and told them it was an emergency first thing in the morning. They said they couldn't get us in until 4:15pm. As Charlie was getting worse, we called back in hopes that they would get us in sooner. That did not happen. We arrived a few minutes early to our appointment. We had to sit with him in our car 15 minutes after our appointment was supposed to start. We waited another 20 minutes in the room before we were seen. When the Veterinarian arrived, she diagnosed him with having a blockage based on the samples we brought with us. We were already heartbroken because we knew given our financial situation, we would have to make a decision we didn't want to make. The vet told us that it was going to cost upward of $5,000. I don't know anyone that has that money on hand-especially the way things are right now. When the vet said she knew someone that takes in animals and will pay for their surgery, but they will find him a new home after, we agreed. He had a whole life to live so we thought it would be the best option for him. The vet said it was a woman she knew personally that raises money so she can afford to pay for what Charlie needed. We specifically asked what our options were-we were never informed that there are grants we could have applied for or even a payment plan option. The next morning while our family was already having an extremely hard time not having Charlie home with us, I received a message from a woman that works for the adoption agency we got him from. She said "we got OUR dog back. How dare you surrender him because he needed surgery. I have placed you in the do not adopt list. You do not deserve another animal." I did not know that I would be discriminated against by this adoption agency because my family is unable to immediately afford a surgery of that cost. Especially when resources that could have helped were never told to us. If that is the case, then I suppose the agency should be looking further into everyone's finances before they are able to adopt. I was unaware that money is more important than being able to provide a loving home. I feel I was lied to by the vet about where he was going. I feel that the options that were given to us by the vet were misleading and information that could have helped us was hidden from us. We want nothing more than to have Charlie back home with us. I will NEVER recommend Uxbridge Animal Hospital to another person again.

My existing vet of 7 years referred me, as they weren't able to accommodate a visit within a 14 day period. I had just moved and unexpectedly started a new job where I needed to place my beloved dog for the first time into daycare that required particular shots. I called around to several veterinarians in my new local vicinity explaining my situation, and no one had appointments or was willing to squeeze me in. I reached outside of my area to VCA BLACKSTONE VALLEY ANIMAL HOSPITAL, explained my unforeseen situation and they were concerned for the animals well being and squeezed me in!! WOW!!! I was so relieved! Working in retail banking for over 20 years developing relationships and striving to exceed customer service and deliver wow moments, you can appreciate those who deliver the same. VCA Blackstone is a 35 minute drive out of my area that I am extremely happy to undertake for the exceptional service!!! This past weekend, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put our cat, Kiki, to sleep after a long battle with her illness. Kiki hated veterinary clinics, and near the end of her life she had been to several. We wanted her final moments to be peaceful, at home, free from the stress of her carrier or the sterile environment of an animal hospital. Dr. Hayes responded to my inquiry immediately: a phone call, a voicemail, a text, and an email with thoughtful resources and her availability. When we finally spoke about Kiki's condition, she was calm, compassionate, and professional. She walked us through every option and was transparent about pricing from the start. What also set Dr. Hayes apart was her availability over the weekend, something that is genuinely difficult to accommodate and not something every provider offers. Her flexibility during what is already an impossibly hard time is noteworthy and deeply appreciated. The day itself was one of the hardest our family has faced, but Dr. Hayes brought a quiet, somber grace to it that was genuinely comforting. She was extremely patient with us, never once making us feel rushed, and gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes to Kiki, something that meant more than words can express. As someone who works in medicine myself, I was especially moved by the care and respect she showed Kiki's body after she passed, it did not go unnoticed. She was also wonderfully gentle with our 10-year-old and with Kiki's brother Mason, who wanted to be there to say goodbye. I highly recommend Dr. Hayes to any family navigating this painful decision. Her compassion, professionalism, and flexibility make her exactly the kind of vet you need by your side in those final moments. We are so grateful she exists and does this work. If you are facing this impossibly hard decision, you could not be in more caring hands.
