In addition to a physical exam, she did a thorough analysis through questioning: tank size, temperature, diet, activity, etc. Although my dragon will likely undergo progressive decline, I was given actionable items that I could try and suggestions for palliative care. Dean, Karen, and the rest of the staff were also kind and welcoming. There are not a lot of veterinarians who treat reptiles in the Worcester area, and I'm not sure how often they see reptiles in this office. We have been bringing our pets to Sutton Animal Hospital for more than 20 years. We always felt that the employees cared about our dogs and cats and us. Something has changed! I called and requested an appointment for my cat who needed a routing exam and vaccines for Rabies and Distemper. The first available wellness appointment was months away but our cat's Rabies vaccination was expiring in one month. The receptionist suggested that we schedule the Rabies vaccination with the vet tech in three weeks and a wellness check at the first available time, over two months away, which I did. The vaccination appointment was scheduled for today at 4:00. At approximately 2:00, I received a phone call from the office while I was at work. I called them back and was told that today's appointment was canceled because the cat was overdue for his annual wellness check. I was told I needed to wait until the wellness check to have the vaccine. This would put our cat a month over his Rabies vaccination expiration. I was told to keep him inside and to make sure he did not bite anyone. I was flabbergasted. I told them that I was not comfortable with the lapse in vaccination but they did not care. The receptionist said the appointments were scheduled like this by mistake but that they would not vaccinate our cat until the appointment that was scheduled for weeks from now. My husband and I were devastated because this has been the practice that we trusted and valued for over two decades. We have transferred to another practice. read more

I run a dog rescue. I ALWAYS check on folks' veterinary references. I asked the potential adopter to advise the vet hospital that we call for basic information: Spay/ Neuter, do the clients come for visits, vaccinate, keep the dog on Heart worm prevention--REALLY Basic stuff. Client calls hospital... advises that the rescue will be calling and allows consent to speak to us; They want to adopt a dog from us. We call to ask the few basic questions and the poor receptionist is being YELLED at on the phone that ONLY THE VET can speak to us... and give any records....... WHA???? Why ???? What a controlling thing to do..... We just want to be sure that our pups land in responsible hands.. caring and loving homes ... Stop yelling at your poor receptionist. I'll bet they have a high turn over for employees too! No One has the right to yell at you Miss Receptionist. I don't care WHO they are! And DR control, your CLIENT is consenting to you to speak (generally) to us about their past vet history. WHO ARE YOU TO DENY Them!?? I will also bet that the client will find a new vet to travel to. Absolutely horrible experience here. After spending over $600 on xrays and office visits they still have yet to find out why my cat is sick and rapidly losing weight. Every visit is just them asking for more money with no conclusive answer while my cats health is rapidly declining. They have saved the life of two of my cats. All Dr's that work there are pretty smart overall, however, I still think you must ask questions and be proactive just like you would with your own Dr. When dealing with health issues. Ask questions. One point to mention they do not have in house labs for testing, so if your animal needs blood work your gonna wait for the results. Most vets send out labs. Also worth mentioning they rotate the drs which can be good More than one brain per problem. I like them personally been there for over 13 years. read more

We've used the Sutton Animal Hospital since 2006, so quite a while. They have done an amazing job keeping our cats, one of which is now 17 years old, healthy and happy. Dr Karen Ober is a wonderful veterinarian! I have lived in town for town years and recently found her clinic in the last four. She takes excellent care of all my animals and goes out of her way to make sure pet and owner are both happy. When my dog was hit by a car a few years ago, her main concern was my dog's health. She then went out of her way to make sure I was ok to drive to an emergency clinic. I'm glad I found her clinic and I highly recommend her to anyone in the area. Her prices are very competitive and the staff at SAH are wonderful and very friendly. read more
