Georgetown Mortgage seemed like a decent mortgage company, at first. Until we received our escrow…read moreshortage amount (which was incorrect). We were told by 3 separate people that we would be receiving an escrow reanalysis & then could pay the correct escrow shortage amount. During this process we also wanted to look into dropping our escrow account & managing it ourselves. We were told that we could request it & they would send us information in the mail. So that's what we did. Today we received a letter in the mail stating that our mortgage had been sold & another company was taking over. Still waiting on our reanalysis & dropping our escrow account we contacted GT mortgage to find out where we were in that process & how we could pay our shortage. Not only were we told that our shortage would now have to go through the new company we were also told that GT mortgage doesn't allow anyone to drop their escrow account. Oh, & we were told that there was not a reanalysis being processed. So, we were lied to. On more than one occasion. And who knows if we'll make the deadline to pay the shortage. Now, our monthly mortgage has gone up & our hands are tied. I do not recommend GT mortgage in any way, shape or form. They seemed like a fine company at the beginning. But the moment that you need something from them you'll get empty promises & a plethora misinformation.

Georgetown walked us through the process everything came out perfectly and we have no complaints. We wanted to use georgetown mortgage when we sold our first house but unfortunately the buyers agent put us into First American title company with Teresa Wilcox and all of our money was stolen and we still have still not been funded. It's been 2.5 years. I also find it very strange that the yelp we put on Georgetown mortgage originally is missing. So here it is again, with more detail.

Moving is on the top 3 most stressful situations in one's lifetime - and Judy along with her team made this a smooth transition. I could tell immediately after meeting her the first time, that she was highly-qualified and really knew the business. She did a walk-through of our home and created a laundry list of (optional) improvements that would help sell our house. After only 3 business days, we sold our house at listing price! Additionally, the home appraiser appraised our house at listing price. So, all those minor improvements really paid off. Judy and her team are there to stand by you every step of the process and answer all your questions accurately and promptly. I could not be more pleased with their service and am so entirely grateful for their assistance during this life-changing process! Judy has over 35 years of reality experience and is repeatedly honored as one of The Austin Business Journal's "Top 50" Realtors.

I had previously been trying to work with my bank, USAA, and it was a real headache. I was never able to speak to the same rep twice, they weren't clear about what I needed to do to get my numbers where they wanted them, and they didn't seem that invested in the process. Cheryl sat down with me and spent time to figure out a plan to get me where I want to be. I'm a small business owner, so getting a mortgage can be even more complicated than it is normally. She gave me a very clear action plan on what I need to do to get the mortgage I want. Really couldn't be happier with her level of service.

The local contacts don't ever actually float the mortgage, they assemble the information and submit it to the underwriter who in this case is SWBC in Houston. Secondly they have to be able to understand the input information and get it assembled in the right way to forward it. Huge bonus points if they are professional and nice and dedicated and answer the phone and care about what they do. I'm a veteran and small business owner the combination of which one would think was not that unusual. But the first lender (who worked for the builder) spent three and a half months trying to figure it out only to tell me the week before closing that I could not get the loan. Fortunately my realtor sent me to Cheryl and Jeff. In two weeks with a minimal amount of pain (on my end) they were able to put everything together and get us to closing at a good rate and a wonderfully small cashier's check required. And they got all the bonus points. They are exceptionally nice, professional, accessible (that should be moved from the bonus section to required section) and dedicated. To ME. Working late into the night on my package and just cheerful about it (that part was unsettling.. they are invariably cheerful). I would not hesitate for an instant were I to start again today. Cheryl and Jeff have my thanks and lifetime loyalty.
