Dr. Sollenberger and his assistant Allison really did a great job from start to finish with my first ever dental implant! Numbing went so great I didn't know he was done and looked to see when he was going to start. When I felt a tiny little discomfort he listened and numbed the few remaining accessory nerves and I felt nothing. He talked my anxious self through the steps which helped me a ton. Thanks again Dr.David Sollenberger for making it an easy painless process! And big thanks to Allison for being so comforting and informative as well!

I made the appointment and I still didn't know who dialed the number. I got there I was shaking, shaking I mean scared. Dr. Vance looked at me he said I can see how scared you are with just exrays. I made it through with Dr. Vance and his beautiful nurse. And so my journey began. I had not been to a dentist not even to take someone for an appointment. Y'all I was to scared to cry. Dr. Vance I had never met anyone like him. My appointment was in the afternoon and for him to still be as wonderful as he was still just wonderful. And I can't remember the beautiful caring nurse name. She helped me so much. Y'all I knew this was going to be a long process. If Dr. Vance could see my fear and make me feel at ease for just pics of my rotted out teeth. I remember I was trying to get food and chewing and teeth breaking as I'm eating. Sooo many years of people staring at mumble nasty comments. My family didn't treat me no different. But I tried to distance my self from the staring and this kid I was working at a grocery store and I would hear his song all I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth. I suffered silently and I hated me because I was a coward and I wanted to be brave. But God say peace be still. My day was coming and it had my savior Dr. Vance....more later on my journey to be beautiful not to the world. But myself first. And my family they say they weren't embarrassed but I knew they were.....more soon.

I've been seeing Dr. Davenport for nearly five years and she's a very kind and skilled dentist. The…read moreoffice is clean, the hygienists are pleasant, and the location is prime. Parking, however, can be a little tight. Unfortunately, the relationship had to be terminated due a billing dispute for $165. I ended up being compelled to pay the full amount despite explaining to them the unfortunate circumstances around the issuance of the bill. The receptionist was somewhat rude (not ugly) as she explained the situation on their end. I asked if we could meet in the middle to preserve the relationship (something their web presence says they value), but she was unable to come to an equitable resolution for me. They may have received their cash payment for $165, but will lose out on thousands of dollars worth of future claims payments from my insurer because they were unable/unwilling to compromise with a long-standing, reliable patient. With all that said, I will miss Dr. Davenport and I wish her well. I hope her office management team learns to see the bigger picture when it comes to preserving patient relationships, especially when the amount in question is so paltry in the long run.

They have certain clinic requirements at UAB to make sure students are well-rounded clinicians before they graduate and move on to residencies. The majority of the faculty are very caring, knowledgeable, and helpful especially in the clinical years. They are also well prepared academically as their 100% Boards Pass rate shows. I would recommend anyone applying to dental school or any residency program to consider coming and interviewing here if given the opportunity! I would also recommend patients to come here to get the dental needs taken care of here. Although patient's appointments will be a bit longer since we're an educational clinic, the students and faculty truly care about the patient's needs.
