What sets Brookwood Endodontics apart is its attention to patient comfort. When I arrived, I received a card to complete noting my preference for nitrous, a blanket, a pillow, tv channel and a beverage. This helped ease my anxieties about the procedure almost immediately. Prior to the procedure, Stephanie and Daniel did a fantastic job of taking my X-rays and well as explaining and preparing me before Dr. Thomas began his work. I appreciated that Dr. Thomas made certain that I understood why the procedure was needed and what to expect during and after the procedure. The following day, a member of the office called to check on me, which rarely, if ever, happens at other offices. I could not have asked for better or more professional service. Highly recommend.

Usually when a dentist is giving you numbing shots he will make it less uncomfortable. He did not do this. I just received a bill for $165.00 for a 3d x-ray that is not covered. I paid what they asked me to pay when I was there. I called about this bill and the girl said yes, insurance usually doesn't cover that. I asked why didn't you tell me that insurance would probably not pay for it. I then asked, if they could discount this amount to what insurance would allow. She said NO. I told her my dentist had sent me for a root canal of one tooth. I didn't see why they had to do a 3D of my entire mouth. If you go be prepared for additional charges that are not covered.

It seems to me that they decided they weren't goin to do the work, but wanted the X-rays to justify the copay for doing nothing. I'm sure they do a great job if they are going to try to save your tooth. However, feeling shafted leaving an endodontist isn't the feeling you want to have, and I certainly have that feeling.

I made it through with Dr. Vance and his beautiful nurse. And so my journey began. I had not been to a dentist not even to take someone for an appointment. Y'all I was to scared to cry. Dr. Vance I had never met anyone like him. My appointment was in the afternoon and for him to still be as wonderful as he was still just wonderful. And I can't remember the beautiful caring nurse name. She helped me so much. Y'all I knew this was going to be a long process. If Dr. Vance could see my fear and make me feel at ease for just pics of my rotted out teeth. I remember I was trying to get food and chewing and teeth breaking as I'm eating. Sooo many years of people staring at mumble nasty comments. My family didn't treat me no different. But I tried to distance my self from the staring and this kid I was working at a grocery store and I would hear his song all I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth. I suffered silently and I hated me because I was a coward and I wanted to be brave. But God say peace be still. He did not disappoint. I was super embarrassed, but Dr. Vance didn't judge me at all. What was even more shocking was that he was able to get started right away. I have depression and it caused me to not take the best care of myself for a couple years. I've been pretty embarrassed about it and hesitant to go to the doctor or dentist. As soon as I walked into the office I was greeted by the friendliest receptionist. She was so knowledgeable about what my insurance covers and payment plans. The hygienist was the star of the show! She explained what issues I was facing in regards to my teeth but did so in a way that didn't feel overwhelming or cause me to feel embarrassed. She gave me practical tips on how to take better care of my teeth and thoroughly explained each step and process before and during anything she did. Dr. Abrahante was the kindest, sweetest soul! He had the biggest smile on his face the entire time we talked. He was so personable and intelligent, I was blown away! After explaining to both the hygienist and Dr. Abrahante that I suffer from depression and it caused me to not take care of myself like i should have, they both expressed how proud of me they were for taking the necessary steps now. When you suffer from poor mental health, it's hard to find doctors/dentists/professionals that truly understand the toll it takes on you and how hard it can be to even make an appointment. I felt like the staff here really cared about me and are willing to do everything and anything to get me back healthy and happy. I've been seeing Dr. Davenport for nearly five years and she's a very kind and skilled dentist. The…read moreoffice is clean, the hygienists are pleasant, and the location is prime. Parking, however, can be a little tight. Unfortunately, the relationship had to be terminated due a billing dispute for $165. I ended up being compelled to pay the full amount despite explaining to them the unfortunate circumstances around the issuance of the bill. The receptionist was somewhat rude (not ugly) as she explained the situation on their end. I asked if we could meet in the middle to preserve the relationship (something their web presence says they value), but she was unable to come to an equitable resolution for me. They may have received their cash payment for $165, but will lose out on thousands of dollars worth of future claims payments from my insurer because they were unable/unwilling to compromise with a long-standing, reliable patient. With all that said, I will miss Dr. Davenport and I wish her well. I hope her office management team learns to see the bigger picture when it comes to preserving patient relationships, especially when the amount in question is so paltry in the long run.
