Parking is a big issue here. The parking lot is not included, the $36/night underground hotel parking does not fit mid size suv's or trucks. It is also 3X the average price of hotels parking in this area. They do not tell you the parking next door is 3rd party not included in your stay, it is $100 fine if you park there and don't pay the 3rd party. All the trucks had the same fine in the morning. Management did nothing about this. We found the hotel new and bright. The room was large, water pressure was good, had a nice hairdryer, there was also an iron, bar fridge, kuereg coffee maker, flat screen tv. We were on the 11th floor, looking out over the river valley. The restaurant & lounge were beautiful, open airy and had great views. We didn't eat or drink there but took a look around. The gym is well equipped & the hot tub is the size of a pool. Check in was quick and they fave us complementary warm chocolate chip cookies A negative was the very thin walls, it is a family hotel and the morning are filled with the sounds of children for good or bad lol. The mattress is extra firm, depending on your preference that is good or bad. The location is at the far east end of Jasper Ave, still decent for most shopping, dining & access to the ICE district. read more

I have always been a true supporter of this hotel! Always. for my 40th birthday i received a one night stay at the doubleTree with some money for room service! My most favorite part of hotels. When i arrived the first strike was no one offered me THE cookie. Things looked up when the nice gentleman who told me where my room was helped me to my room. I came to the grand opening of the DoubleTree West Edmonton by Hilton tonight and had a fabulous night! Formerly the Mayfield Inn, DoubleTree has gone above and beyond in their year long renovation stripping the rooms down to the frames and cement! The result is a crisp, clean, and modern remodel that feels like a brand new hotel! But have no fear, the Mayfield Dinner Theatre is still here! This summer, they are slotted to open their brand new addition, Homes 2, across the parking lot which is designed for short to long term stays! The Silver Birch conference center was spacious and absolutely state of the art. Chef William White prepared a feast of bites for us to try tonight from gluten free pizza to heirloom golden beets paired with wild meat! Their chicken spring rolls were awesome and packed with flavour (I think there was fresh ginger in there)! The bison meatloaf with Saskatoon berries was relish! I toured 2 gorgeous suites tonight: the King Suite which had sliding doors to separate the living area from the king sized sweet dreams bed and the spacious Hospitality Suite designed for entertaining. Both rooms featured artwork featuring local Edmonton architecture ranging from the Muttart to WEM. The staff were super friendly and made you feel welcomed the minute you checked in with their signature warm chocolate chip cookie. As a special treat tonight, 3 time Canadian speed skating Olympian, Catriona Le May Doan, was a feature speaker. She was extremely hospitable and allowed us to look at and touch her Olympic Medals! She spoke of the phenomenal support the hotel chain provides Olympic athletes both in Canada and abroad! As if all that wasn't enough, we were also treated to a sampling of Divine Desserts from Stages a Kitchen & Bar! From a bourbon cheesecake to a strawberry macaroon, you simply cannot go wrong! I will definitely be recommending DoubleTree by Hilton to any of my friends and family who come to visit in the future. This hotel has been newly renovated and it is lovely! When you walk into the lobby there is seating right in front (not sure how comfortable though), left is the bar/restaurant, right is the concession (if you need a sweet or salty snack) and check in counters. There were a few people in standing in front of the counter so we waited our turn. We were lucky enough to have won a voucher for a stay in the king suite and 2 breakfast buffets. We were asked if we wanted a room on a higher floor which was said yes. The check in was pretty quick and we were given 2 warm cookies, yum! The elevators are just off the lobby towards the restaurant. They are spacious, never a long wait and always empty. Glad there's also extra security to use your room key between 9PM-6AM. The room key is one where you swipe over the sensor instead of sliding it in. It worked well most of the time. The room is lovely! There's a seating area with a sofa, chair, and TV. When you open the curtains, there's a fantastic view of downtown. The bedroom had a comfortable king bed, chair, and also a window with a view. If you are looking for a bathtub, there isn't one but there is a large shower. The toiletries are Crabtree & Evelyn and smell good. The finishes on the counter tops were great. There's a keurig machine with coffee cups, 2 water bottles, a mini fridge, and safe. There were a few issues we experienced. The tv guide and hotel information wasn't correct (it said breakfast was offered until 9:30 when it's 10:30 and the check out time stated 11AM when it's 12PM). Within an hour in the room the back panel of the heating system fell off with a big bang! I'm glad my husband or I were not getting a coffee or putting something in the fridge. I called the care line and the first question was if anyone was hurt. I said no, and she said someone would be sent up. We waiting half an hour and decided to go check out the gym and pool on the main floor. The gym is great, except I don't know why the tvs are facing your back if you are using a cardio machine! Pool area looked clean and nice. After we returned to our room to find the panel still leaning on the counter, I called again. This time, someone came within 5 minutes. Maybe the first person forgot to call maintenance? When we went for breakfast, there were no hostess or staff around. We looked around and waited but decided to seat ourselves and head to the buffet. There was an omelette station but there wasn't anyone there so we didn't wait. After we were seated, it took a few minutes for a server to come ask if we wanted coffee or tea. It did seem a little disorganized as we saw about 4 servers/staff but there were times when the hostess station wasn't occupied. The breakfast buffet is very good. There were pancakes, eggs, turkey and pork sausage, ham, fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, oatmeal, bread to toast, yogurt, and I think even cheese and smoke salmon! I didn't pay attention to it all as there was so much variety. The buffet was included in our voucher otherwise it's about $19/person. Overall the hotel is comfortable and modern. It's close to West Edmonton Mall, offers free parking and reliable Wi-Fi. Would be a great place to stay again! read more

Worst front desk staff ! Booked a room for the weekend to go to the comedy festival. When I booked I asked is this close to the festival they said " it's a 15 minute drive " they should have said the other location is a 2 minute walk . After checking in we were called at our room saying our credit card was declined ? I said that was impossible but why are you charging my card before we leave ? He said we're not . I said then how is it declined ? He said because he ran the charges for the full stay on my card plus $100 for incidentals. Again I asked why are you charging my card for the full amount when we're not leaving for 2 more days ? He said it was policy to do the full charge . I asked numerous other people in the hotel if they had been charged the full amount , or an additional $100 for incidentals they all said no . The only reason I can think of is because my wife is black , shame on you Doubletree for how you treat people. The staff and the food in the lounge was very good read more

Very satisfying stay. Their initiative to greet their guests with a fresh, warm and delicious cookie is fantastic. Makes you feel right at home! The rooms have the highest standards and the service is very friendly. For instance, I had forgotten my phone charger, the staff did everything they could to find me one. I was staying on the 8th floor and the view with the sunset was amazing. The pool is inviting but the gym could use more machines. I had a seminar to attend to in the hotel, the next morning, and the venue was very well attended to. Great organisation, food and service. I recommend ! read more

This here is a gorgeous little hotel near West Edmonton Mall which offers almost ritzy accommodations and amenities, without the ritzy price tag. This isn't an all suites hotel, but it has a lot of suites (increasing Diamonds' and Golds' chances for an upgrade, which we got!), and it is very nicely appointed (recent reno?). The chocolate chip cookies do not seem to be as nutty as the usual - perhaps walnuts are more expensive in Canada - but it didn't bother me none since I chowed down both mine and my wife's (she doesn't care for anything with nuts in it). This hotel is tied to a large meeting space, as well as to Mayfield Dinner Theatre (Canadian spelling), which has a long history; it was fun to look at all the old posters and the stars and ex-stars who performed here. The spiral staircase that leads to the second floor occupied by the theatre company is gorgeous. Other pluses: pet friendliness at a very reasonable price (About $28 USD at time of writing), and one of THE best breakfast buffets I've recently witnessed, any price range - times like these we're really thankful for that privilege as Diamond member of a free breakfast. Hotel is not cheap by DT standards, but if you book early enough, it's not unreasonable. This hotel is not close to downtown, but it's proximity to the largest mall in N.A. is very good for that crowd. Edmonton was much more lovely than I thought - all these years living in Canada, and I'd only been to the airport vicinity previously. I would make this my first choice if I'm coming back to visit any time soon. read more

I picked this hotel due to the reputation of the Hilton chain and it was a good location close to everything we needed. The hotel itself was very nice, clean, nicely renovated. Rooms were advertised as what they were, and again, very clean. Staff were mostly nice with the exception of one front desk agent where I regrettably didn't catch her name. We sensed a bit of hostility and attitude from her and I'm really not sure why. Yes, there was a phone incident which was a pure accident and I'm sure caused them some unnecessary extra work. I apologized profusely and was very embarrassed, but it was in no way intentional. However she was quite unfriendly to us so I had to avoid her and was relieved she wasn't at the desk when we checked out. I will stay here again though! And mmmmmm love the cookie. They even give it to you warm (you get it when you check in)! read more

Not impressed! I've stayed at other DT's before and I was really disappointed with a few things. There was no shampoo in my toiletries in fact it was poorly stocked like they were trying to skim out on me. I ordered food and hotel food is usually average and this was terrible plus they screwed up my order! The cable selection was by far one of the worst I've seen...they didn't even have movie channels. And last but not least, the noise level was too high from other rooms. Bad experience overall. read more

3 day stay. Location is central to where we needed to go. 3rd floor was quiet. Beds were ok, pillows were good. Washroom and rest of the room felt clean. The carpets need some cleaning tho. Cable was loud and clear. The fridge and coffee was a nice touch. I would recommend. read more

I attended the grand opening ceremony tonight, and am thoroughly impressed by the complete overhaul done on what was previously Mayfield Inn. The rooms and suites are spacious, modern and well-appointed, as is the state-of-the-art conference centre. However, this being an industrial area, the view from the rooms is lacking. The grand opening ceremony itself was fantastically organized, with no shortage of delicious drinks, food and desserts from Stages Kitchen & Bar. The staff were very friendly, and I especially enjoyed the 'scavenger hunt' style tour of the hotel and several opportunities to win prizes. I left the event with a $50 Stages gift certificate and complimentary 1 night stay in a king suite! This revamped hotel is fresh, new addition to the west Edmonton hotel scene. I will definitely be recommending it in the future. read more

I was here today for a work conference and was pretty impressed with how Double Tree served us and gave my colleagues and I attentive service. The conference room decor was in good neutral taste. The continental breakfast was great and I liked how there was an effort in reducing food wastage. Eg the assorted mini muffins. The staff also was quick to replenish empty food bowls and plates. The only thing I would improve on is the tech portion. There were some trying moments where there were computer issues and visual aids not working. This was more the venue versus the user as a slide would be on the screen and then it won't work a few minutes later. Parking was decent but make sure to get to the venue early for parking as I found that it filled up quite fast. read more

My first experience with Edmonton's newest hotel gets an A+. I was there this morning for a presentation and was impressed at every stop. Walking into the lobby, I love all of the updated from the previous hotel and could definitely spend some time in the contemporary lobby, grabbing a coffee from the cafe, popping on the computers and just enjoying the space. The staff were super pleasant - there was a greeter when you walked through the doors who asked if I was heading to the presentation and helped guide me. Later, a staff person walked me almost directly to the washrooms after I had asked for directions. It's just these little touches that I really appreciate and the service didn't go unnoticed. The meeting space was nice and included a good spread of the typical continental type breakfast. And the washrooms were actually pretty beautiful, clean and spacious. I look forward to more meetings at the DoubleTree. read more

The DoubleTree is THE place to hold a convention. We just had 330 Red Hat Society members there and we were all treated like Queens. The staff absolutely out did themselves to keep us all happy. The food was amazing and we could not have had a better experience. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable as well. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and will definitely be going back. Of course, all the free cookies make you stay even better! I can speak to the hotel, the restaurant and the conference areas of the Doubletree and can say that overall, it's a fairly impressive venue. Hotel: I found myself having to stay here for an extended period of time - I believe it was about 5 weeks in total. It definitely gave me a good idea of the level of service! The staff were always very friendly and accommodating and I felt comfortable here. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. I was offered the opportunity to change rooms around if I felt I needed a different view after staying so long, and the front desk staff always offered me a warm cookie when I walked by (even though it's supposed to be for check ins). I really enjoyed my stay and recommend the hotel to my out of town guests all the time. Restaurant: not my first choice - I found the food to be just ok and not awe inspiring. The breakfast buffet is fairly standard, but I did like the fresh omelettes. Lunch and dinner were just ok and kind of pricy for what you get. Conference: I have organized and participated in a few events here and have found the staff to be great. The setting up and attention to detail are professional and make my life as an organizer much easier. The cost is reasonable considering it includes unlimited snacks all day - and there are a lot to choose from, plus they change them from breakfast items to lunch items as the day goes on. You will definitely not be hungry. I've had great experiences here and will continue to use/recommend this establishment. read more

So, now I have stayed in this hotel and am even more impressed. I booked this hotel because they offer an AUPE discount and I have always heard great things. The booking process was simple and my options were laid out nicely. I booked a standard King room since we would only be there for night. Upon check in, I was asked if I wanted to upgrade to the King Suite for $25. Again, I declined due to the short length of stay. However, once I signed up for the Hilton rewards program, I was advised that I would now receive that upgrade for free. WOOHOO! I have to wonder though... If I had paid for the upgrade before receiving that offer, would the fee have been waived? At any rate.... I received the warm delicious cookie that you always hear about, and was given a good explanation of the hotels amenities. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bed was soft and warm. I do not have a single complaint on the room itself. However.... I was lazy and tired so I ordered a ceasar salad via room service. It was $10, but after all the room service fees, it was over $15.00 which seemed excessive to me. Although, it was delicious. I would absolutely stay here again. read more

I was attending an all day meeting at the Double Tree. This was my first time there since the complete overhaul of the premises. Formerly the Mayfield Hotel the Double Tree is in the Hilton family of hotels. I was. I arrived at my netting just as it was getting started so I missed the details that were shared to the attendees at the beginning. The meeting rooms are in a separate of the hotel past the main elevators. You immediately see an electronic board to easily determine what room your meeting is being held. I already knew as in the main lobby the directory is electronic and indicates the path to take to find the location. The chairs were very comfortable not your usual still stackable chairs. The room was bright and had every possible modern day electronic equipment that may be required. We each had a chilled bottle of water on the table along with some candy to keep the energy going. I was also impressed that there was the capability for every person to have a plug in for computers. Most of the time we have extension cords all over the place or we take turns using outlets. At break time I was able to explore around this portion of the building. The washrooms were very clean and had numerous stalls. I was curious to stay there later in the day when I saw that Big Brother Canada had a room booked later in the evening. There was a seating area that was almost like a cafe. There were fridges filled with an assortment of pop, juices, and water. Beside thus was every possible hot beverage one might desire. Then came a section that had an very impressive selection of snacks. At first I was looking around for a cashier as I was getting tempted. There was an employee wiping down tables so I inquired about purchasing something. He informed me to help myself to anything as it's all part of the meeting room section. The selection included everything from fruit and nuts to pastries and candy. All sorts if Little parfaits, mousse, cookies, yogurt and fruits. So I got myself some nuts, strawberries, and some jelly beans. I know the facility is on the higher end to hold a meeting at; but as an attendee it is one if the most comfortable experiences I have ever had. It makes for a very engaging environment. read more

Yes. Just yes. We have been here a few times for food and drinks, and to attend the Mayfield Dinner Theatre, and the team here is TOPS. They are so friendly and on top of things. I enjoy hitting this spot for food and drinks. And if the rooms are anything like the service in the restaurant, then I'm sure they're outstanding. I've heard from others that they are, but I can't say for myself. If you're local, stop in for a drink or a bite to eat. If you're coming in from out of town, do that, see a show at the Dinner Theatre and spend the night! read more

Very clean and the staff are great! We love that it is pet friendly. So convenient near the dinner theatre. The rooms are standard but cost way more then a standard room should cost. 140 for caa discount plus an additional 35 dollars for pet charge. That's a lot of money for one night. The pet fee makes sense and we have no problem paying that. read more
