Horrible customer service by their female manager! A handicap elderly lady walked out of the front door (struggling) as the manager walks right by her into the restaurant without any assistance such as opening the door for her to exit with ease. Such poor characteristics of a manager of an establishment that has a lot of young employees who may follow in her footsteps thinking that is ok to do! So RUDE! WOW a manager of all people!!! If you're going for the food it was well done! Enjoyed all 2 pieces of my small cauliflower pizza with mushroom, jalapeño and pineapple as well as my husband who loved his small regular crust double pepperoni and jalapeño pizza. Quick bite on our way home from San Antonio and it was just alright. Service is good. More so the person filling the salad bar. She was full of smiles and informed me of what she was still bringing back out so that I didn't finish my plate yet which was nice since I got the 1 plate salad option. The 1 plate was $4.99 versus all you can eat was $9.99. I packed on enough on my plate and it was plenty. The pizzas were crispy on the bottoms but they're just missing some flavor. I sprinkled salt, cheese and peppers and it helped. Plenty of seats and even has patio seating. Pretty casual kickback spot. They have 2 arcade games tucked away way in the back near the bathrooms that you'd miss if you never sit near there or go to the restroom. read more

Whenever my mom comes to Bastrop, we like to go shopping and usually stop at Double Dave's to eat because it's quick and easy. We usually get the salad bar, which doesn't have a lot of options, but there is enough there to make a decent salad. Their pizza is average. I tried the pepperoni rolls only once and did not care for them. There is very seldom a line and when there is, it moves quickly. They do have Blue Bell ice cream for dessert! read more

Terrible customer service experience!!!! A mistake was made with their online ordering app which could have been easily remedied by the staff. Rather than offer to remake the order, offer a refund/ discount, or attempt to help in anyway. Their solution? Pay for an additional pizza as well as the incorrectly made pizza. Regular pepperoni pizza wasn't anything amazing but was still good, now their Alfredo sauce pizza has to be the best Alfredo pizza Ive ever had and i wish i had gotten more of them when i visited. Nice ambiance as-well and prices seemed fair. came on a Monday so the large 1 toppings were 12$. different deals for every day of the week. i fully intend to come back here again. Pretty disappointed! Had to ask two different people if they deliver to our address then we give the order and they messed up on the order and called us back then they deliver our order to the wrong customer then we had to wait even longer for our order! Ordered Dave's fave, nothing special, this pizza is good if you just want something to fill your stomach but it's nothing mind-blowing. Better options around. For $12 I just expected more flavorful pizza and not some soggy sausage. Cashier is friendly, some of the other workers seemed to be goofing around and smacking each other with towels so I don't know what that says about how they use those towels to clean up the kitchen. While I have had a few positive experiences in the past, tonight's trip, as well as many more recent ones, was a disaster. Since Chris, one of the old managers left, the place has seriously went downhill. While the main tipping point tonight was the salad bar, we've had many issues before. One of the ones that have been consistent, is the bathrooms. Every time I walk in there, either there is no soap, no toilet paper, no paper towels, or the trash is overfilling. I've experienced the bathroom in such nasty states before, that I've simply stopped going to the restroom at this DoubleDave's. I understand there are messes sometimes, but even when I'd let the staff know, nobody would make a move to go clean it until usually after I'd leave. No restaurant should have such a reputation that their bathroom would be nasty, that even my friends have had their own experiences. Now onto the issue that we had tonight. We walk in and immediately my father makes a comment about how it's an hour before closing and how the salad bar may already be taken down, so he goes and checks. It's not, the salad bar is still completely out. This is amazing because I always get a salad when I come to DoubleDave's. We go and order, it's 8:11. As we order, we ask for two salad plates, the nice boy taking our order hands us plates and another man, who we later find out is Will, a driver, walks up and tells us that we can't have salads because it's being cleaned up. Okay, it's fine, their currently cleaning it is what we assume. We go to fill up our drinks, and the entire salad station has not been touched, it's 8:14. My dad takes a photo. This makes us a little upset, but no big deal, Will is probably coming back to clean the rest. I go back to refill my beverage at 8:28, and the salad bar has not been touched, I take another photo. What really upsets me is that, we could have ordered and made our salads and it would have been fine, it would not have pushed back the cleaning of the salad bar. I go back for my last refill at 8:46. The boy, Will, is finally back there cleaning the salad bar. We were told no to salads at 8:11, because it was going to be cleaned, but it wasn't touched till 8:40. We had been there for almost 30 minutes. Along with this, in the past we have been refused service at 8:45 because they were about to close. They've refused to make unsweetened tea anywhere past 7:30, without a clear explanation. Furthermore, we've been treated very rudely by some of the workers. It really does upset me that DoubleDaves in Bastrop has gone so far downhill, my family used to always go for the $1 pizza rolls. Now, the DoubleDaves Bastrop location is just a disgrace to the energy that a DoubleDaves is meant to give off. read more

A customer service redemption was had. After writing my review here, I sent a review through the website about my experience. It was answered within a couple hours with an apology and a credit = what I spent on the pizza. Today I decided to order pizza for takeout using my credit. The manager that had been there last time was working and was apologetic over the phone. The pizza was ready when I got there along with some complimentary pizza rolls! On top of that the manager offered to walk the pizza to my car since my hands were full with my baby. In my mind those actions redeemed this location. I would come back again. read more

So many people in Bastrop love to complain, citing their feelings for their one star reviews. The fact is the vast majority of restaurants here are hot garbage. One shining star within this dark pit, however, is Double Dave's. Amazing pizza (thin and wheat crusts FTW) and those rolls ... simply amazing. I've eaten at DD's since I was a student at UT in the late '80s. This location is consistently spot on with their food and the staff is always friendly. 12/10. Great place for lunch. Variety of pizza flavors, full salad bar with many options and what best than a buffet! Food: Many pizza options. Really enjoy their buffalo chicken pizza. Not always available when I go and if I request it, it is usually done after I have already opted for something else. Best time to go is around 11:00 during the week when lunch peak hours haven't started yet. Drinks: Opted for sodas and teas for my visits. I usually visit during lunch on weekdays for lunch but I believe there are beer options too. Service: Service is always good. Cashier is friendly and staff is always busy creating more pizzas in the back. Restrooms could be cleaner. Restaurant is always clean. Outdoor patio is great when the weather lends itself. Pizza buffet is the best. You can substitute your soft drink with a draft beer for a small upcharge. The staff keeps the pizza line filled all the time, with a good variety. It must be a stressful lunch time for them, but they do a really good job! I do wish they had the pizza of the month out on the buffet more often but I imagine there's a set amount of those they're supposed to make. Double Dave's has a really good variety of pizzas with more than just traditional red sauce. And the desserts are all delicious. Best place to go for lunch in Bastrop. read more
