The Sportsman's Warehouse (SW) in Bend, OR sells Columbia PFD Rambler shorts with an attached $50…read moreprice tag. An internet search revealed that many other stores currently list them at half off that price, clearly closing them out for the end of summer. SW online lists these shorts as a clearance item and offers them on sale from $31.77 - $45.00. I purchased them and another item at the store only because I had a $50 gift card from a previous promotion, and I was passing through Bend. Until the next day, I failed to notice that I was charged $85 for the $50 shorts that other stores are closing out for $22-$32 and SW online is closing out for a $31.77-$45. I then called while 30 miles from Bend, with no plans to ever return there. The answering clerk stated that PFG had raised their price. This is a questionable claim, because Columbia manufactures these shorts and offers them for $50 on their website, and SW online and other retailers are offering them at clearance prices. The clerk then informed me I could only receive a refund for their having overcharged me 70% by coming in. That would cost me far more in time and driving expenses than the $35 that SW stole from me. I escalated to a manager who claimed company policy would not allow a refund over the phone due to "risk". He could not articulate what this mysterious "risk" was despite online and phone credit transactions being a worldwide routine business practice. I claimed that SW must find it more acceptable to cheat a customer by overcharging them than to possibly expose the company to this mysterious "risk". Presumably for lack of a reasonable reply, that mid-level manager claimed there was nothing he could do. I requested to talk to someone who could make decisions. After about a minute, the manager returned to our call and stated that members of upper management weren't available, but "they would tell me the same thing." He offered me a $40 gift card and stated that is all he could do. Clearly, that solution ensures any refund I receive of the money SW stole from me be spent on heavily marked up merchandise at SW. Apparently, cheating a fixed income senior citizen (and perhaps many other customers) by overcharging, knowing that a high percentage of customers cannot economically return to the Bend, Oregon store, is acceptable business practice by SW, a corporation worth $43.7 million. Representatives of the Bend, OR SW store ensured that a "risk" does exist, but it is the customer that incurs that risk. I will ensure that my future purchases are made elsewhere. Being short of options for restitution, I will spend the $40 gift card and not a dime more, I will post negative reviews on every possible site such as here and Google and Yelp, and will be filing a complaint with the Consumer Protection Division of the Oregon Department of Justice. Please help me to ensure that SW's unacceptable business practices cost them far more than the $35 they stole from me.

Once there, they do a quick appraisal of your familiarity with guns, have you sign a waiver in case you've got the Dick Cheney gene, and then take you out via golf cart to what equates roughly to a golf course. There were something like 13 stations with pigeon-throwers set up to fire at fixed trajectories, and at your discretion, via remote control. The staff are great, and the guides are helpful, and may stick around for the first hole or two (if it's obvious that you don't know what the hell you're doing) and check in on you later on down the line, which is courteous. At the outset, you're given whatever gear you may need, such as safety glasses, earplugs, shell pouches, etc. Just put your (purchased) ammo and rented gun(s) on the golf cart and proceed at your own pace, ticking the scorecard as you go. Once you're past the phase of snapping dozens of photos of each other holding a gun because everything else about your lives completely emasculates you, it's really pretty fun to test your skill and watch a clay pigeon get completely obliterated by a well (or luckily) aimed shot. Just be advised, if you don't shoot regularly, beware of anything you may need to do later that requires the full use of whichever shoulder you place the stock against. You will likely be pretty sore.

Like many customers, I felt reassured when I walked into the shop and saw numerous bridal gowns in the store AND I read the cusotmer reviews before I brought my dress. I believed my expensive designer gown would be in experienced hands. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I brought my gown to Scissor Bird Alterations to be taken in on the sides and hemmed for my son's wedding. The side alterations were acceptable, but the hemming was not. The first time I picked up my dress, I immediately noticed that the new hem was clearly visible all the way around the gown. Instead of preserving the original look of the dress, there was an obvious stitched line that changed its appearance. When I questioned it, Marta told me that this was how the original hem looked. I showed her photographs from the designer's website, which clearly showed that the original gown did not have a visible stitched hem. After seeing the photos, she agreed to keep the dress and rework the hem. I was so concerned that I returned the very next day because I no longer felt comfortable with the alterations. I was considering taking the dress elsewhere, but Marta reassured me that she could correct the issues, so I trusted her and left it with her a second time. When I picked up the dress again, the visible stitching had been improved, but the hem was now puckered and uneven in multiple places. Marta told me to take the gown to a professional dry cleaner to have it pressed, explaining that the pressing would allow the hem to lay flat. In all my years of having clothing altered, I have never picked up a garment from a tailor that was not ready to wear. I followed her recommendation and paid to have the gown professionally pressed and cleaned. Unfortunately, the professional pressing did not correct the puckering or uneven hem. I also had to pay to have the gown professionally cleaned because the hem had become noticeably dirty during the alteration process. My shoes, which I wore only during my fittings in the shop, were also dirty on the bottom. With my son's wedding only days away, I sought a second opinion from Pinpoint Alterations. They opened the hem to inspect the previous alteration work because the puckering could not be corrected by pressing alone. Watching another tailor carefully take apart an expensive designer gown in an attempt to salvage it just days before my son's wedding was heartbreaking. After I contacted Marta again, she offered to inspect the dress. I appreciate that she made the offer, but by that point another inspection was not what I needed. I had already given her the opportunity to correct the work, followed her recommendation to have the gown professionally pressed, and the results had not changed. What concerned me most was not simply that the alterations did not turn out well, but that the dress was presented to me as finished despite workmanship that I immediately questioned. The visible stitched hem was apparent the first time I picked it up, and after it was reworked, the puckering and uneven hem were also evident. As a customer, I expected an expensive designer gown to leave the shop in a wearable condition--not require professional pressing and cleaning before I could even consider wearing it. The photographs clearly show the condition of the hem, and despite knowing I was dissatisfied from the very first pickup, there was never an offer to refund the alteration charges or help cover the additional expenses I incurred trying to make the dress wearable, including professional pressing, professional cleaning, and a second alterations specialist. I understand that every seamstress may occasionally encounter a difficult fabric. I am actually angrier with myself for trusting her with my dress. This was one of the most important garments I have ever purchased because it was the dress I planned to wear for my son's wedding. Instead of feeling excited for such a special occasion, I spent the days leading up to it trying to save a dress that I had entrusted to a professional. I sincerely hope my experience helps others make an informed decision before entrusting an important garment to this business.

It is immaculate, modern, and well maintained, it has an excellent location and great parking, and on the day I was there it was cared for by a wonderful attendant (a blonde woman whose name I did not learn) who was constantly cleaning and providing help to everyone who needed it. I assume it is not the cheapest laundromat in Bend, but every penny has clearly been reinvested in the the machines, the facility, and the service. And the money is going to good people, because the attendant told me that the owners are the nicest people she has ever worked for. Laundromats aren't normally the most enjoyable places, but I will actually look forward to the next occasion when I need to use the services of Washable Laundry!

The parking lot is really small and street parking is a hot commodity, with the food truck and tap room spot across the street, but I found a spot in the Washable parking lot right when I pulled in on a Saturday afternoon! (I tend to have really good parking karma). Speaking of the food truck spot across the street, THAT was a cool benefit of this laundry-mat; food and drinks while you wait?? Yes, please!

I purchased my first firearm from Double Tap... & they took the time to ease my overthinking brain... calmly & w/ empathy. I never felt embarrassed, or over-shadowed by their combined experience. I returned to the store, in order to ask a variety of questions I missed my first day... & they both were happy to see me & spew more knowledge. I purchased a Glock 19 Gen 5 for CCL @ a price point nearly 170$ cheaper than a rival store. My background check was overnight (rapid), as I went into the store near closing. "This isn't the first time Will has saved me from a mistake on my end. I am from Redmond. I tried our local shop. Pin and weld with build out. Not including the hand guard. It was a disaster that took 28 days. I was embarrassed. I did not want to ask for help. Karma was kind and said no problem. Will asked to see the firearm. He said let me look it over. He handed it back in ten minutes. I tried to pay him for I was truly thankful. He refused. This means a lot to me because this firearm is a gift and will be traveling over 800 miles. I went to a couple other gun shops before taking my gun in to Double Tap to get a couple gas blocks removed and switch to free-float. Could not be happier with the end result. Communicated well and saved me a TON of money, not to mention built a bad ass gun. Had everything I was looking for and didn't BS me over what I needed or try to sell me on shit I didn't need. I brought my new AR to Double Tap to be given a safety check, which is a service they provide for free. Will found it had excessive headspace and offered to try some extra bolts he had the back. He found one that worked and swapped it for me at no cost, saving me about $80. I can't recommend Double Tap enough.
