How on earth had I not reviewed Double Needle? I've been a fan since the old location. Jared and team have consistently come through with denim repair and alterations done to perfection. They even hand-repaired an ailing Dries Van Noten tank top for me. I can always count on Double Needle to have the knowledge and skillset to do things right, with extreme patience and to such a degree of precision that a true denim head would cosign. I even think that their repairs add value to worn and loved jeans. So if your jeans need some love: a fitting, a patch, a flourish...definitely give Jared and crew at Double Needle a try. They are fantastic.

    Business hours--CLOSED On Thursday

My partner came here to have her items altered for a special occasion. We visited on 6/13 (see date on the ticket). She gave specific information on when she needed the items by (before Friday 6/24) and on the ticket he notes that it would be ready the prior day (Thursday 6/23). The following week we're awaiting a call on Thursday for pickup--no call. At this point we're nervous bc we have an event on the Westside Friday 6/24 in the afternoon (and mind you if you're an LA native that commute is no joke) and especially nerve wracking if we don't have a status on attire. So I call Friday afternoon when they open at 12pm on behalf of my partner reasonably upset and tell him he lied bc essentially they are closed on Thursday (see screenshot) and we have a ticket showing that's the pickup date. He's flustered and musters up that it would be ready in 2 hours; mind you our event is at 4pm on the Westside so cutting it pretty close. I come to the shop and pick up the items and he has a cheeky grin --no apology--and says "Yeah we're closed on Thursday ". The items were decently tailored but will definitely not be returning bc he has no respect for his patrons and put us though unnecessary stress. FYI the owner is white and we're POC so I guess it's on us for thinking we would be treated w decency. Never again.

second pair of jeans that just had a hole in the crotch

I had 2 vintage pairs of Levi's that needed to be fixed. the oldest pair (which has a ton of holes and distressing throughout that i love dearly) had a HUGE rip all the way across the back thigh area plus the crotch completely blown out. the second pair has very little distressing but I ripped the crotch when I squatted down one day and the hole just kept getting bigger by the day. so I texted this place and they told me to come on in. for the amount of work I needed, I felt like the pricing was fair. Two pairs of jeans, multiple repairs needed, and it was about the same price as another place quoted me for just ONE pair! the repairs look great, and they even reinforced some of the holes that i wanted to keep intact on my old thrashed pair without me asking. my only complaint is that it did take about a month for me to get my jeans back, but it was worth the wait and they did a great job. if you're in a rush, I maybe wouldn't recommend this place, but if you want the job done right and don't mind waiting, I highly recommend them! i'll post some before and afters on both pairs

I had a genuinely good experience coming here. Do not be dissuaded by any negative reviews. Jared repaired a pair of jeans that were perhaps my most beloved clothing item in my closet in the SAME evening. The rips and holes he repaired in a way that were completely consistent with the distressing of the jeans. He told me he also does alterations which I will absolutely take him up on. I am looking forward to becoming a returning customer. Be sure to call him to check his hours--he was open on a day his page said "closed" and I'm SO glad he was!!!

Paid for express, wasn't finished in time and sloppy job was done 30 min before closing. Nothing near invisible repair, doesn't know how to chain stitch. Warped and fucked up the denim. Should've gone to denim revival.

Had the seat/crotch repaired on 2 pairs of jeans that wear otherwise in good shape that I could not bear to throw out. I should have taken before pictures. Yes, while I could get a brand new pair of jeans for about $15 more than the repair, at least I keep jeans that I know fit me to a tee. It's worth it for the craftsmanship applied to the repair. I'm so impressed. I've since left 2 more pairs of jeans for repair for which I had to take down the previous shoddy repair I had done by someone else who obviously did not specialize in denim repair. All in all, I'll have 4 more pairs of jeans added back to my wardrobe for $100.

It was such an amazing bridal alterations experience with Roya! Not only is she clearly…read moreknowledgable about her craft, but her attention to detail and comforting presence put me at such ease, which I was especially grateful for during a rather stressful time. I contacted Roya pretty close to my wedding date (about 1.5-2 months out near holiday season) and was very nervous about the tight turnaround. She was able to get me in to see her quickly and thankfully completed the alterations ASAP, so I had plenty of time to ensure that everything was perfect and further alterations could be done if needed. However, with her skill and talent, that wasn't necessary at all. My dress needed to be hemmed and bustled, which may not sound like a lot to some people, but it was incredibly difficult to the delicate and intricate lace detailing at the bottom of my dress. I needed an expert who would be able to alter the dress for my petite frame but also maintain the beauty and integrity that I fell in love with. There truly was no one better for the task than Roya, and it was also helpful that her schedule was so flexible. I honestly can't say enough praises for Roya and her work, and I am so grateful that she played a major part in making me feel beautiful and confident on one of the most special days of my life!

Roya is THE BEST. Seriously. The fittings/appointments were easy and she is amazing to talk to, and…read moreshe is so good at what she does. She clearly has a lot of experience, and is just phenomenal. There were 3 appointments - one consultation, the measurements, then the try-on after the alterations were done. I had the shoes I was wearing for the wedding from the first appointment. At the last appointment, she gave me a demo of how the bustle and wrist strap should be done, and made sure I took a video! ;) My dress had 3 layers, tulle, appliqué, and a train. I got it hemmed, a 3 point bustle, and a wrist strap. Roya was very upfront and about what would work, and she gave all options and their pros and cons - for example, she gave all the possible options for bustling my dress, how many points would be best given the weight of the fabric, as well as the minimum points I could get away with safely. She provided pros and cons given cost, sturdiness, and the way the fabric would lay. She also gave the pros and cons of the wrist strap. She was transparent about cost and gave suggestions to save me money, even. I had trouble finding pictures online for what would work for my dress, and couldn't envision what I could even do with it. Before going to Roya, I had even considered getting rid of the train completely because I wanted to be able to move freely, and was worried a bustle wouldn't give me a look I vibed with. SO happy I kept the train! So like I said, I ended up opting for a 3-point bustle and adding the wrist strap, and omg, it was the perfect decision for me. Both lasted the entire 12 hours I had the dress on. The length was perfect and it was easy to walk around and even dance with. I don't usually walk in heels and had been worried about stepping on my dress, but it was seriously THE PERFECT LENGTH. The wrist strap was beautiful and romantic and actually quite natural for me to move around with. The bustle was essentially set and forget, and felt very secure. The dress looked fantastic throughout the day and other than standing at the ceremony with the train loose, it required zero fixing/setting/staging for pictures. Even action shots were perfect. I posted a billion pictures to give a very clear idea for anyone else worried about anything and everything I was worried about.
