Program, since (by the grace of God) there was a spot open and our own school always has a wait list. The staff here are wonderful and they have excellent security/communication measures in place for our children. The weekly rate is so reasonable at $64 per week with childcare from 6:00a to 6:00pm which includes field trips! They have a set schedule and curriculum. We chose to enroll her because we have come to realize that structure is needed since school is out. With entering her in July, we are so grateful for this program and made such a wonderful decision for our sanity. (I now get why parents are counting the days till school starts as this summer has been tough). Can you feel me parents? Highly recommend this before/after school and summer program!!!

Hello Parents,…read more Please consider enrolling your child in another school, upca is very messed up, some teachers here are short-tempered and will get mad at anything. kids will get detentions for simply "not walking on the blue line". This is very unreasonable and im pretty sure all the other kids at this school would agree. also, teachers here dont teach man. especially in middle school, the middle school students gotta go home and teach theirselves off of youtube, (im one of those students, im in 7th). teachers here most of the time just put assignents on the board and are like "due tomorrow everyone!". Also the substitutes are horrible man. They just sit there and let that class do whatever, so when the actual teacher comes back theyre mad. one time i walked into a 1st grade classroom and saw a substitute sitting on her phone while the class was just chaotic man. The vast majority of the teachers are excellent and genuinely concerned for the children. Any that are not, are quickly dealt with. The entire staff generally understand that they are aiding parents with the education of their children. As opposed to the trend of schools thinking they may usurp the authority of the parents. Parents can be as involved as they are willing.

My son learned a lot with Mrs Dwyer as his gifted math teacher as well as with Mrs Marsh his gifted science teacher. My son has learned such a great deal and is enjoying learning at Chiles elementary school. He has become a super reader thanks to Mr. R who is a wonderful role model to the children at Chiles and has also done extremely well with his writing thanks to Mrs. Baldwin who is my son's outstanding homeroom teacher who made his transition from South Tampa to new Tampa a wonderful experience. Mrs Baldwin has truly made my son's experience at Chiles elementary school. This school is exemplary and I am so happy that my son is going to the school and would highly recommend the school. I do not recommend…read morethis school due to multiple serious concerns: Safety Incident: In September 2024, two men were caught shooting in the woods right next to the school. Heavy police presence followed. It was very frightening. PE Injury: During a game called "Zookeeper," my son was knocked down and injured by a pool noodle. The PE teacher, Hannah Lane, and principal, Colleen Wilkinson, were unresponsive when I reported it. Denied Lunch: My son was denied a free lunch when he forgot his lunchbox. Another child was also denied. Principal Colleen Wilkinson took no action after I reported it. Limited Trust: Because of these incidents, I never allowed my child to participate in field trips and kept my involvement minimal. Transfer: I ultimately transferred my child to a different school for first grade. Overall, this school does not provide a safe or supportive environment for children.

It is bittersweet that my final child will be graduating in just a couple years! I have never been disappointed with the excellent education that my children have earned, that has been provided to them. There were a few staff members that we weren't/aren't pleased with, but, it taught my kids to work through adversity and to fight for their rights as young adults. If you are engaged in your child's life, they will learn more, get in far less trouble and excel in the opportunities that a public school education offers.
