My kids are excelling academically and emotionally, all thanks to the attention paid to their personal growth and development. Park Maitland feels like a warm hug coupled with academic rigor. Children are allowed to become true individuals, exploring their passions while supported by the loving faculty and staff. I remember feeling the same way - I reaped the benefits of an exceptional education while feeling safe to try new things and be myself 30 + years ago! It's been a joy watching my kids blossom and soar. The campus is adorable and they have special traditions for each grade that they look forward to each year, including a yearly theatrical production. It's unfortunate that some folks had a negative experience with their kids here, but the same can be said for any public and private school - some kids and families do well and some do not. Private schools do have their drawbacks - specials needs, etc - as they simply don't have the vast resources as the public system does and are unable to change / derive curriculum to match each child and family due to their size and scope. As far as my experience at Canterbury with my two children, they love It and are learning at an excellent clip. The parent community is close-knit and are active participants at the school on a daily basis. I would give this school 10 stars if I could. That said, making a decision on your child's education is a very important and personal decision. In-person visits, interviews, and learning about the unique communities and cultures first hand are a must. In my opinion, if you are relying on Yelp and/or Google reviews, you're doing it wrong.
