Tried kadapa karam dosa and filter coffee with medhu vada. Loved the dosa which i had, feels like i'm in india and definitely worth it, if you likes super spicy. Medhu vada was like a sponge and tastes good with three different types of chutneys. Filter coffee in a cup feels like having a coffee in chennai. Service and ambiance were too good. I came here on a rainy day with my family. We had rava masala dosa, masala dosa and mini idlies. All were very good. Sambhar and chutnies were also great. We even tried pineapple kesari as dessert. It was really great. I will definitely recommend this place. It's a must try. read more

We normally drive down to Fremont for tasty and high quality Dosa, so I was cautiously excited to take my friend here, but was extremely disappointed. The menu does not reflect what they have in stock. I wanted Rava masala dosa, but they were out early in the evening. Instead, we ordered two masala dosas both were undercooked, NOT crispy at all, caky, lacked flavor, with only two to three bites worth of potato masala that was also mediocre. The accompanying chutneys were not fresh, watery instead of thick and lacked typical flavors. The sambar was sub-par, watery and lacked flavor as well. Although the ambiance needed work it was par for the course when it comes to most Dosa restaurants. The bill came to almost $40 with tax and tip, not worth it at all. read more

This place has promise and I hope they only keep improving from here. The food is just ok but the prices don't match what you get. They are certainly on the expensive side and you get better and fresher South Indian food elsewhere in the Bay. We tried a variety of their dosas , mini idli , and onion samosa. It's a new addition to the neighborhood, used to ba another Indian place. This is specific to South India, with all things dosas, uttapam, idli, rasam, rice dishes galore. They have dosas off the beaten road, e.g. rave, the kind with little splattered crackled holes in it, where I think the dough/batter is not fermented, therefore more crunchy and a tad less tang. My husband's dosa was bomb, tangy with the ferment and slightly crispy and crunchy with yielding toothy give. The filling was good for restaurant quality, and I told myself not to compare it to my Mom's, which had separate clean elements of peas, carrots, potatoes. This is more a mash of potatoes, which is not a bad thing, especially because the flavors were good. My mixed veggie uttapam of tomatoes, onions was good, though thicker and less crispy than I would've liked. I asked them to leave out the chili, which they obliged. The mango lassi very good, not cloyingly sweet. The meal was beyond great specifically because of their raita. Give me raita with just about anything and I'll happily eat it. They give a little container of tart/sweet yogurt with diced chunks of tomato and red onion, the perfect accompaniment to the lemon rice I got. Oh man oh man did that ever bring back memories ... more like the Gujarati version of vagari-la or bhagari-la rice, touched with lemon and turmeric, with rye and possibly a bit of mustard seed, sooooo good. The interior is neat and clean, spartan in a utilitarian sort of way with cushioned comfortable banquet white seating, and polished tables. It has a front section, middle with booths and rear part. I think they have a do it your self chai back there, which I didn't see till we were leaving. We went in on a late Wed night, when it was fairly empty, though I saw loads of takeout pick-up orders. The customer service was truly caring and attentive and friendly, sweet, e.g. I was very touched when one of the guys came over to ask if I wanted more raita ... he likely saw that I inhaled the container, and sweetly came over to inquire. The prices are great for the quantity you get, e.g. the dosa you see from my photo is really that long :-) The parking out front is readily available, though that might be a function of the weeknight we went. Tried this place today for lunch! Awesome food - authentic, tasty, and of high quality. Clean and spacious with a wonderful decor. A proper South Indian restaurant has been missing from the peninsula forever so glad this has opened up. No need to drive all the way down to Sunnyvale and Santa Clara anymore.
