I have been twice. I'd go everyday if I could afford it. Seriously - this is the best restaurant in the area. So many times you spend money on food and are disappointed. Every bite here, every sip...is exquisite! Both my husband and I savored every morsel. Second trip brought a friend, who also loved his chicken enchiladas suizas. I got the nachos as a meal and it was SO big I couldn't finish no matter how delicious it was. Guacamole was so fresh, and NOT too garlicky or salty, something that is all too easy to do. Go. Go now. Or when it's open again (closed Monday). You will love it!

We've been waiting excitedly for this to open since the sign went up on the fresh white exterior of this small and unassuming little building on Pollard. Dos Mas is tucked into the heart of downtown Vinton, steps away from homes, banks, the post office, and easy parking right out front. When the Vinton Chamber of Commerce's Angie posted her video on social media that Dos Mas was open, we scooted in the next day! We were welcomed in the moment the door opened by a smiling face ready to seat us. We opted for the bar, like any normal bar rats, and were presented menus and the bar list. The bar has comfortable seating and only 8 chairs so even if the place is full, you have ample arm room and won't feel crushed in. We were immediately given 2 glasses and a chilled bottle of water, a nice touch for sure. We began with Mas Ritas and ordered our food. The Mas Ritas are on tap, both frozen and on the rocks. We both ordered ours without salt, just a personal preference. They were delicious, served with a lime slice. Once the meal arrived we were delighted with how the plates just looked before even taking a bite! I had the Crunchy Catch & Supremo with steak, sans lettuce and tomato. My mate had the Shrimpy Dilla. We were delighted with the flavor and heartiness of our orders. By the time we decided we had enough time for another beverage, we also decided to get one for taco each. I got the Reel Good and my mate got the Supremo with chicken, sans lettuce. I received the salsa rioja and my mate got the salsa verde. The rioja was so flavorful with a hint of heat and the verde was cooling and flavorful. I'll definitely ask for the salsa rioja since its flavor was so amazing. Definitely looking forward to coming back soon! For us, the margaritas are a little pricey, but easily enjoyed. This is a perfect place to stop in for a big family meal or a quick lunch to grab tacos, eat and be on the way. The size of the place allows them to be busy as business builds, but not to overrun the staff and their execution.

As I was driving in the direction of the restaurant.

After months of waiting, Dos Mas Tacos & Tequila Bar is finally open. And boy, it was worth the wait. The Town of Vinton has once again gained a gem of a restaurant. The owner Sergio, who also owns Agave Azul in Hollins, has created an authentic Mexican restaurant in every sense of the word. He has transformed a small space into an elegant Mexican restaurant, doing justice to the amazing cocktails and authentic Mexican food. I had the opportunity of visiting the restaurant for lunch a couple of days after its soft opening and was very impressed. The decor is stunning, the ambiance is elegant, and the customer service is remarkable. For a brand-new spot, the menu is already highly polished and the food is absolutely exquisite. When I arrived a friendly young gentleman greeted me at the Host's station, took me to my table, and handed me the menu. Soon afterwards, Andrea, my server, came by to take my order. I ordered an Espinita Mocktail to drink. As appetizer I had a Queso Dip with Chorizo & Totopos. And for my main entrée I ordered three Tacos Callejeros: the OG Taco with Grilled Steak, the Reel Good Taco with Grilled Mahi Mahi, and the Sizzlin' Pastor Taco with Adobo Pork. Everything was amazingly delicious and the tortilla chips served with my appetizer were authentic house-fried blue corn tortilla chips. The owner, Sergio, happened to be there and was who crafted my Espinita Mocktail. He came over to my table afterwards, and we chatted for a while. He is a very friendly individual with great ideas, and an entrepreneurial spirit. For dessert I had the La Guera Tacos, filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and caramel sauce. This was a special creation of the owner. Afterwards I asked for the bill and paid it with one of my credit cards via Google Pay, and made sure to leave an good tip for an exceptional service. I highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to returning for dinner to try out some items from their dinner menu.

I love the vibe of Dos Mas! The interior is very modern and lively. We tried the street tacos and quesadilla and enjoyed both. The coconut margarita also transported me to a tropical place on an otherwise rainy day. The owners were our servers and were just lovely as well. What an awesome addition to downtown Vinton!

I went back to eat at this restaurant with the same friend who originally had come with me when I dined here and wrote my first review. We arrived at its parking lot and I noticed that their vinyl banner still remained covering the professional sign of the previous restaurant. Now it also had another vinyl sign that read: "Now Open Sunday's." And yet another that read: "Everyday Specials" and "Happy Hour 5 to 7pm." It seems that they were being successful by having a clean place, with great food, at reasonable prices, and with excellent customer service. When we went inside, the place was cleaner than ever before and nicely painted with vibrant colors, and the tables and chairs in the center were painted with Mexican motifs and then shellacked with a glossy coat of shellac. This gave character to the place, while maintaining its cleanliness. The menu had expended somewhat, with Everyday Specials. Like on Tuesdays the daily special was the Tacos Rojas and on Wednesdays the California Brrito; all for $11.99. Our server welcomed us at the door and pointed out the table where another friend of ours was going to join us there. She had already purchased a basket of Chips & Salsa from the appetizer menu. It seems they have continued this tradition that is practiced in Mexico rather than offering complimentary Chips and Salsa like in Mexican Restaurants here in America are used to. I ordered the Carnitas Burrito My friend ordered the Rojas Burrito. Our other friend ordered a Chicken Quesadilla. All the food came in large portions, looking delicious, and tasted amazing. What I missed is that they didn't have any sides. The combination of a clean and comfortable environment, together with wonderful food at reasonable prices, and served by very friendly servers, continues to make this Mexican restaurant very popular if you live or work in the area. Although many of their loyal customers are willing to drive there to enjoy a genuine Mexican cuisine dining experience.

Never got Salsa with my meal even after I asked for it. Long wait to order, long wait to get food & long wait for check. Short of help, those 2 servers struggled to get it done. The food was delicious, although I personally prefer a little more spice. ( There is a table with variety of sauces to choose from.) If it's your first time visiting, a little more guidance on how things work would help, like ordering and paying at the counter before sitting down, and that you can leave your plates on the table since the staff clears them for you. No luxurious building with expensive decorations and furniture. Just a clean, cozy, and comfortable little building with a few tables and chairs, a counter where orders are taken and paid for, and a small kitchen behind where orders are prepared and taken out to your table by one of the servers. When I arrived to the restaurant that is well known in the area for the $1 tacos on Tuesdays, I was impressed by how small it was. The main room where orders are taken and paid for and with a few tables and chairs for customers to seat down and eat, is souranded by large windows where light can come in as well as people can look in from the street and see a very clean restaurant full of people eating and others ordering items to go. There is a second smaller seating area, this one with walls and smaller windows. As I entered the door, there were several signs both on the wall and standing on the floor. There was an enlarged colorful menu on the wall, and a floor sign with the days of operation and special daily menus. Behind the counter a friendly employee greeted me and took my order. To drink I ordered a Mango juice, as an appetizer I ordered 2 Longaniza tacos, as the main course I ordered a steak Milanesa (breaded steak), and for dessert a Pastel de Tres Leches. I paid with a credit card and then went and sat at a table next to a wall with an outlet where I could charge my cellphone that was running low in power. While I was there several people came to pick up orders to go; a couple of groups of workers, and some families as well. After all it was a Friday evening. When my food was ready one of the servers brought it to me. All the items looked and tasted delicious. The Steak Milanesa was a bit thin but tasted good. There was a small table up front with all kinds of sauces to put on your food. This is a comfortable little place where you can enjoy genuine Mexican food, alone or with family and friends. Nothing gourmet, just good home cooking.

At first it seems like a hole in the wall, where you approach and they take your order and payment. Then you go take a seat either in one of the many tables of the Market Building, that are arranged similar to the Food Courts in the Malls, or in one located in a small outside patio (mostly used during the late Spring and Summer, or when the weather is warm). But don't be fool, this restaurant is more than a hole in the wall or part of a Mall's Food Court. Even though the kitchen and ordering counter is located in a very small space. There is nothing small in the quality of the food nor in the very flavorful cuisine. And their customer service is definitely top notch. They have copies of blown up menus next to a window facing the inside of the Market Building so customers can study the menu well before approaching the ordering counter to make the order. They also have the same thing in the outside seating area patio, which is under a roof. And right above the ordering counter, more blown up menus, as well as regular size menus laying on the counter. But besides all this, they have very engaging employees who are very helpful making recommendations on what to order if you are still undecided by the time you reach the ordering counter. And this is precisely what one of them did with me and I ended up with one of the most amazingly delicious Mexican food that I've ever had in any size restaurant. To drink they have a display case refrigerator with many non-alcoholic drinks to choose from, and a small bar counter where Margaritas are made. To drink I got a Jarritos Mango natural flavor soda. And to eat, I took the recommendation of one of the employees taking my order and ordered the Chessy Tacos Birria, which were made with seasoned shredded pork, and came accompanied by a bowl of consomme to dip my tacos in while eating them, and by little bowls of red and green salsa to put on the tacos if I wanted them more spicy. For dessert I ordered a Flan. Since it is Winter, I had my dinner inside the Market Building, where my server brought it to my table, and followed up at the appropriate times to see if I needed anything and who brought me a napkin holder full of napkins without me even having to ask for it. My server did a nice job providing excellent customer service and establishing a wonderful customer relationship to indirectly invite me to come again to try other items of the menu in the near future. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant to all those reading my review, when you feel like having some good Mexican food in a lovely and relaxed atmosphere, either indoors or outdoors of a Historic Roanoke City Market Building.

There were a few times I simply walked across the street to eat here with my girlfriend. I love the white sauce at this restaurant, it's more sweet than spicy but it's fantastic on rice and chips. They used to give you as much of this as you wanted for free but the last few times I've come they give you a very small amount and then charge you if you ask for any more... as someone who used to come eat here all the time I found it to be somewhat irritating but it's only a dollar or two so it's not the end of the world. The service is usually pretty good, as is the sweet tea, and the food is out pretty quickly. I typically get either the traditional fajitas (chicken, steak, shrimp) or chicken fajita salad. It doesn't seem like they take quite as much pride in this place as they used to, the servers are more lax, they charge more for the little stuff, and the food quality has dropped off some but it was always a good choice on a night no one felt like cooking. The only big con is that the parking lot is small so when it gets busy there it's a pain to get in and out of it on Hardy Road and/or find a spot in the back. One other thing, the wait staff leer at my friends and I whenever we come to eat here on girl's nights which is probably a culture thing since they're mostly all hispanic, not really a reflection on the food as much as the atmosphere but still, it's rude.
